No no no, the mistanke every reaction video does is using the Ed sullivan version. It is the hound dog from the Milton Bearle show that is amazing. There he is with no guitar , slows the song down at the end and almost makes love to the microphone stand. It was that version that started all the trouble for him, and it is amazing 😊
Berle even told him to puy the guitar away and "let the people see you" and then the ending where he slowed it and did the bump and grind was spontaneous, look at Scotty looking at DJ like ? This was the night rock n roll exploded
@@vintvarner16yep, and it's great how well they just rolled with it. But they had never practiced that way and it just perfectly indicates how Elvis was always unpredictable even from the very beginning. Imagine having something as big as the TCB band and the backing choirs and they all also were just such good musicians and they would watch him like a hawk and make adjustments.
God created elvis perfectly just looks alone perfection. Look at that face hair lips hes such an original & the black communitu adored him b/c he loved all people but grew up in freaking tupelo mississipi!!
after this, there can be a Beatles. There can be a Rolling Stones. There can be a Led Zeppelin. There can be a Chuck Berry. There can be a Little Richard. There can be a Michael Jackson. The music business and the entire country changed that night.
You must remember that this is 1956. The popular singers of that time were Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Patty Page, etc. who stood like statues on the stage. Elvis ushered in a whole new style and way of singing that was wild and exciting., though tame by today's standards. His blend of rhythm and blues, rockabilly, and country was the beginning of rock and roll.
Elvi's had 1 movie almost out with contracts for more, he had released Heartbreak Hotel at the beginning of the year. Elvis became a millionaire in 1956, and as you can see his confidence was sky high.
I had just turned 12 and was in 7th grade in a Catholic school taught by all nuns back then. My much older sister and my parents watched with me on our 16 in TV. I turned around at one point and saw my dad snickering. Only a few of my friends were not allowed to buy Elvis records. Elvis truly was the topic of conversation back then, and influenced hair styles and fashion as well as music. In a few months I had a hair dresser cut my long hair and had a short ducktail cut. I recall Sister Gerald bringing a portable record player to class, and played DeBussy in an attempt to try to persuade the class, that rock and roll was not real music. My dad, a middle aged business owner even bought a pink shirt, due to Elvis making pink dress shirts popular. In the drug stores, Elvis was on the cover of the magazines month after month. In 1958 when he was drafted in the Army we teens were so sad.
LOVE THIS - In Elvis's 1972 FULL 45 Min Interview While doing EOT - Elvis On Tour -- He LOLLLL Says back then "I LOOKED LIKE I WAS HAVING AN EPILEPTIC FIT" SOOO FUNNY HOW HE SAID IT --- IT'S AUDIO ONLY - / CD
Watched by 60 million viewers, 80% of the viewing audience. As noted in a comment below, his performances that night, he performed I think three other songs, changed the music and cultural landscape of the country. This was Elvis’ second appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. His first time on the show, about six weeks earlier, Sullivan wasn’t able to host as he was recovering from a car accident. I agree with MrAlanFalk73 that the Dorsey version of Hound Dog was electrifying. If you guys watch it, Elvis improvises at the end of the song, something that would become almost a trademark (improvising) of his throughout his career.
This is about my favorite older video! If I’d have been there I would’ve been screaming right along with all the other ladies! It must have been so exciting to be in that room!! The energy, wow! He loved having the Jordanaires behind him whether they were clapping or singing, a comfort thing. I love him!
Elvis was only 21 years old at this time. What a great singer and entertainer, unmached! 🙌🙏👏👍♥️ Thank you for your great reaction! Greetings from Germany! 😘🇩🇪
Love watching your reactions to these Elvis videos. I’ve been an Elvis fan since the age of 7 way back in 1968 and absolutely love watching people discover the magic of our boy
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS❤️ Elvis inspires you to be a better human being❤️ You bring me and other Elvisfans a lot of Joy and Love❤️ Welcome to the Elvisfamily..It is filled with LOVE and FUN❤️😉
Another jaw dropping performance here!!! Only Elvis could be Elvis, he created the character. There are more Elvis impersonators than any other celebrity. You can look like him, act like him and be like him and may come close. But Elvis had it all naturally. Everyone else has to work hard at being him. I would rather watch the REAL DEAL!!!!!! Thank you, thank you very much!!!
Thank you again Matt! You always come with the gems! I just love Elvis so much, nobody in the world like him! I also love when you guys react, because I can see the joy that you have watching!
Travis looking cute in the Santa hat and Suzy looking beautiful. Thanks for this reaction. It is my favorite of early "Hound Dog" performances, and great you have seen this one and the Milton Berle wild one! He was just 22 here and already had such stage presence. All of the Ed Sullivan performances are 🔥. Good luck on getting to your goal this week.❤❤❤
That was so fun. I never get tired of seeing this and because you guys are all so performers, like I am, it's just a better understanding or at least an attempt to imagine what it might have been like to be there in that moment.
Hi from Australia the girl your partner looks great as a natural no coloured hair or weird makeup she has the best smile don’t conform to the latest trends be true to yourself cheers
(Looks like Matt did request my suggested performance a year ago and the Wolf HunterZ reacted to it -- but I'll leave my comments up anyway for anyone who has not seen it. I had just gotten the impression from this particular reaction video that Travis and Suzy hadn't seen Elvis move around much.) Love your reactions. And I love all of Matt's requests regarding Elvis. Matt would be the 'other king'. And as much as I enjoy this particular video of Elvis singing "Hound Dog", I think his performance of the same song on the Milton Berle show (even earlier--- June of 1956} without his guitar is even better. Elvis moves more, does the 'tip-toe' move that inspired Michael Jackson years later, and does an impromtu slow downed version. Anyone who has not seen this needs to check it out. I still thank you for the request, Matt! ❤
Travis, Souxsie. We need to keep some things in mind. In the first live version that you reacted to, Elvis had not recorded the song yet. He recorded the song on July 2, 1956. So this is closer to the way in which the recording was performed. And as you see, this performance was on October 28, 1956.
it was this performance that caused so much uproar it nearly got him banned from television instead the courts ruled they could only film him from the waist up
Travis & Suzi Elvis was 21 when he was on this episode of Ed Sullivan's Show. Episode prior to this one, he was on the show, but CBS (network showing Ed's show) focused on chest up on Elvis because censors were stricter back in the 50s. I believe Sullivan relaxed rules for Elvis, so he is shown dancing on camera.
Another great Elvis reaction guys... I look at the date and I was 1 month old at the time he was on Ed Sullivan during this performance...lol... Great job , guys... Keep being awesome !!!..
It wasn't just the teenagers dong all the screaming. My mother and aunt took us to see "Love Me Tender" at the movies. Let's just say I was glad we did not sit next to them. Imagine two thirty something women screaming at the top of their lungs.
The original version of Hound Dog was recorded, sung and performed by Big Moma Thornton in 1953. Elvis's version is great. But, check out the original.
JIM DANDY BY BLACK OAK ARKANSAS. SUNG BY THE LATE GREAT, RUBY STARR, AND JIM DANDY , HIS OWN SELF. JIM DANDY HAS A FEW YRS. AND A FEW MORE POUNDS ON HIM BUT HE IS STILL ROCKINN. GOOOOO JIM DANDY, GOOOO JIM DANDY...
I was just 9 and to this day why these girls had to scream or holler at this is still something I just don't understand. I liked the song but sometimes the screaming would drown out the sound and I couldn't hear it. I still became a rock and roll fan. An Elvis fan too.
If you really want to see this same song with all the moves look for this song on the Milton Berle show Elvis really cuts loose on the Milton Berle show, they didnt cut anything on that show and Elvis took advantage of it, ed sullivan was very conservative
you know Elvis was Michael Jackson's father in law......of course he had already passed long before but I find it interesting that the King of Rock had a daughter marry the Prince of Pop.
Matt doesn't really know as much about Elvis as he lets on. if he did he would have requested Elvis's performance of Hound dog on the Milton Berle show, (with original audio) THAT was the wild performance that caused a national uproar. This Ed Sullivan performance is TAME in comparison.
I don't get the guy recommending some of these Elvis vids and songs to this couple. Look at their musical taste, you have to pick and choose the Elvis songs to recommend. They girl looks so bored half the time with some of them
I love how Elvis thanked everyone like always and acknowledged the Lord....he was always respectful 👑
They have already reacted to the performance on Milton Berle . I think it was about a year ago 😊
I Agree!!!!!!!!
I knew they did this vefore!!!!!❤❤❤🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩
I agree 100% plus his moves are amazing. The whole video with him interacting with Berle was hilarious 😂
Berle even told him to puy the guitar away and "let the people see you" and then the ending where he slowed it and did the bump and grind was spontaneous, look at Scotty looking at DJ like ? This was the night rock n roll exploded

Elvis changed the world on this performance, Keith Richard said the world went from black n white to techno color 😂

Yes! Elvis Presley the only king for all time.

The "Big Bang" of rock and roll.

My rock and roll career stared in 1957 when I sang Hound Dog at my 3rd grade class Halloween party.
I mean on this videos he's singing acapella, that's crazy, his voice sound like if he was with a mic, absolutely amazing
I was 9 and Isaw this on Ed Sullivan.
Pure entertainment he was 👍😎👌🎤🕺🎥📸👑
If you liked that, you're gonna love "Ready Teddy". He even crosses his eyes in that one and the ladies scream.
The raunchy version you want is The Milton berle show with hound dog it's amazing and the older people hated it
I agree. It's the one that fits the buildup that this one was getting. What's so special about this version?
GOAT.
You guys DEFINITELY need to see this on the Milton Bearle show!!
Watched by 60 million viewers, 80% of the viewing audience. As noted in a comment below, his performances that night, he performed I think three other songs, changed the music and cultural landscape of the country.

Love your reactions to Elvis. My favorite artist of all time😍🤴
Yes! Their Elvis reactions are what got me watching their reaction channel!
This is about my favorite older video! If I’d have been there I would’ve been screaming right along with all the other ladies! It must have been so exciting to be in that room!! The energy, wow! He loved having the Jordanaires behind him whether they were clapping or singing, a comfort thing. I love him!
He had them there for the harmonies. Elvis loved harmonies backing him, like they had in the gospel choirs back in church when he was younger.
Elvis was only 21 years old at this time. What a great singer and entertainer, unmached! 🙌🙏👏👍♥️ Thank you for your great reaction! Greetings from Germany! 😘🇩🇪
Elvis Presley🕺Is The King 👑 Of Rock And Roll 🎸🎄
.....and "the king of music"!
This video shows you why every guy in the world wanted to join a rock band.
Great reaction
And the guys behind him had the clap.
Love watching your reactions to these Elvis videos. I’ve been an Elvis fan since the age of 7 way back in 1968 and absolutely love watching people discover the magic of our boy
Yes! Same here!
That smile!
He was the biggest thing on the planet at this time
THANK YOU FOR DOING THIS❤️ Elvis inspires you to be a better human being❤️ You bring me and other Elvisfans a lot of Joy and Love❤️ Welcome to the Elvisfamily..It is filled with LOVE and FUN❤️😉
Loved Elvis, he had a great sense of humor and could be quite comical. Saw his last concert in Indianapolis in 1977, his voice was still liquid gold.
Elvis in this video clip is probably the only man who could make every other man on the planet feel insecure about themselves.
Elvis Presley changed world culture like no other. For this he received the Peace Award from the White House posthumously in 2018.
Love this. U need to watch " fever" 1973
Thanks Suzi and Travis for me to see Elvis Love you guys see you next time Buy from TO

Love your reactions to Elvis. He is just so handsome, a natural talent and oozes charisma! More Elvis please. ⚡👍🎧🎸
We can never get enough Elvis!
He learned very early in his career how to play an audience
Thank you again Matt! You always come with the gems! I just love Elvis so much, nobody in the world like him! I also love when you guys react, because I can see the joy that you have watching!
Absolutely agree!
As John Lennon said “Before Elvis there was nothing.”
He was great the best
You have to watch Elvis Presley singing hound dog on the Milton Berle show
Love your Elvis reaction as always! His smile....So young but so confident and already a Goat
See how slippery the floor/stage is? He had to act with that fact!!! Great from the greateast!🎄♥️🇫🇮
Ed Sullivan said he would never have elvis on his show

You guys need to react to Elvis singing 'Love Me' from the Ed Sullivan show in 1957. Excellent performance 👍
Awesome 😎
I had about ten friend to watch this Ed Sullivan telecast. This was unbelivable for
this time even for now. Elvis has endured.

Great joyous reaction guys - what we need all right now.
Hard to believe that performance was so controversial back, then were TV networks only filmed him above the waist
Wasn’t he amazing, oh my goodness just that smile. 💕
Taylor who?? Elvis is and will always timeless!! TCB⚡️
it was this performance that caused so much uproar it nearly got him banned from television instead the courts ruled they could only film him from the waist up

There's another video showing Art come out and talk about how much he likes Elvis and how he is a fine upstanding young man
Ed, not Art.😂
Another great Elvis reaction guys... I look at the date and I was 1 month old at the time he was on Ed Sullivan during this performance...lol... Great job , guys... Keep being awesome !!!..
If Elvis wasn't dancing with his legs he would dance with his facial expressions 😂
So good.
👑✌️
I remember watching this back then. Have you seen is version of Blue Sway Shoes? Carl Perkins had a version out at the same time.
You should react to Roy Orbison sometime. Elvis absolutely loved him and allegedly referred to him as “the greatest singer in the world.”
This is before the censors came down hard on him.
Long time ago ❤
Yes, Suzy, after this all men learned how to peacock from Elvis! They just couldn't do it like Elvis!
I’m wondering how many of those women that went home and not able to yell at their husbands for losing their voice.😂😂
Elvis Fans THEN Were Teens!!!!
@HeavenlyPresley-Tonya All ages!

Ed Sullivan was not pleased. They didnt want him to shake it like that. Caused a stir!
Elvis was considered so dangerous to parents of teenagers in the 1950's that preachers in church gave sermons condemning his music and moves.
His performance of Hound Dog on the Milton Berle show was better.
Matter of opinion. I like this one better. Besides, they already reacted to that one.
you know Elvis was Michael Jackson's father in law......of course he had already passed long before but I find it interesting that the King of Rock had a daughter marry the Prince of Pop.
wonder what the four dudes hand clapping got paid
Hence the name, Elvis the pelvis.
Yes…wrong hound dog
Gotta see the one on Milton Berle

C'mon We know that -- Matt is responsible FOR THESE ELVIS REACTIONS!! FOR THE MOST PART -- BE NICE
OHHH They Reacted to that ONE -- Go to their Playlist Under Elvis -- Watch them all
@@HeavenlyPresley-Tonya No They haven't. I HAVE watched ALL of their Elvis reactions.
Elvis hated his performance on the Milton Berle show of this song. He felt embarrassed singing to the dog and wearing tails.
That wasn't the Milton Berle Show
It was the Steve Allen show
Definitely wrong version...Milton Bural show is 1000 times better
U so ptretty & so loivej=ly
