Also wondering if you find it difficult to make existing chord progressions feel like they're your own? I'm interested in the Billboard Midi Chords, but I feel like what I make would just sound like a ripoff of the original song...
Honestly, transposing the chords and adjusting tempo does a lot to change the feel of a chord progression. Playing with the rhythm can add a new dimension as well. If you know a little bit of theory, swapping relative chords can be interesting. And even just rearranging the chords can make a progression feel new. The advantage with the midi chord packs is you have an automatic start point.
I stumbled onto soundtrap and have written 5 or 6 songs on it recently,, I have always written my songs on the guitar so its cool to have options and Im going in directions that I normally wouldnt go in. Im self taught and neglected theory for the most part,,unfortunately. Good video
