2004 Western Conference Finals Game 4
Kevin Garnett led the Timberwolves with 28 points, 13 rebounds and 9 assists. It was not enough to combat the Fantastic Four as the Lakers defeated the Wolves 92-85 to take a 3-1 lead in the series. Garnett seemed to be the only person generating any type of offense for the Wolves. Latrell Sprewell couldnt buy a basket and Sam Cassell was bothered by hip and back pain.
The Wolves kept it close until the 3rd quarter, where Kobe erupted for 18 points in the period. The Lakers took a 15 point lead into the 4th quarter. The Wolves were able to cut the lead to 6 but got no closer.
Kevin Garnett had another solid and consistent game for the Wolves, but he didnt have enough help (such is his career with Minnesota). This was Garnett's best season (he did win MVP after all) and the Wolves' deepest playoff run. A win here and the series would have been tied 2-2. Who knows how a Wolves/Pistons Finals could have played out.

2003-2004 was the best of Kevin Garnett
Just about he was epic until 2009.
KG criminally underrated. On the level of Duncan, Barkley, Malone, Mchale as the best PFs ever.
I have no doubt in my mind we would've won the championship that year if Cassell wasn't hurt. And to compound it, he was injured most the next year and we almost snuck into the playoffs over the last portion of the season when he came back. To make things more appalling, despite this success, he was traded that offseason for Marko Jaric!!! and thus we let go of Spree understandably. To me, this is the biggest what if for me as a sports fan in my life
Sammy Othman no way.. this laker team was all sorts outta wack and kobe wasn't playing thru shaq like he did in 01 when they sweept everyone.. the NBA is lucky shaq and kobe didn't get along and play together or they would've won from 00-06 easily ... the 1 true year kobe did play thru the diesel in 01 they went 15-1 sweeping prime spurs and kings and blazers

word, both their starting pgs were out, were relying on a 3rd stringer and kg was playing back up point, just like towards the end of this game smh
Even at 40 years old and Malone had more assists than Lakers guards and 2 less than a triple double. Shaq 19-19. Too bad Wolves didnt get together for one more time. That was a great team as well. Always good to see Sprewell.

@@nocomment1469 yes cuz the wolves barely had anyone outside of KG and sprewell. Rather Cassel comes back or not from injury but even if healthy the pistons defense would be too much. They had Billups and prince and put ben Wallace or Rasheed on Kg who always gave him problems in the playoffs when Rasheed was with Portland. Kg admits this to
