I actually can't tell you, since the devices I have seen so far have been relatively early engineering samples. But afaik they have not changed something, or at least they did not mention anything.
The AMD model of the G16 getting the shaft thanks to Intel/Nvidia is straight dogcrap. I do like the G14 getting a thicket chassis, though. It really needed it.

Why are laptop makers so intent on butchering the arrow keys? I can't think of anyone who actually likes those half height up/down keys - they are plain awful for navigating.
Sad they're leaving the ROG Flow X13 line high & dry since 2023. Would REALLY love to own a real 2-in-1 laptop form like it with the updated grunt :(((
Im curious how realistic is the concern regarding oled when it comes the g14, and g16. I really like the minimalist aesthetic of the two but kind of concerned about longevity. Not to mentioned the upgrade limitations
Oled burn in isn't as much of an issue nowadays. Majority of display makers five burn in warranty and have in built oled care with stuff like pixel refreshes built in. Not sure about laptop longevity but haven't seen any complaints so far
I would say the bigger problem is that the '24 OLED was rather dim for an OLED. But usually bright OLED or miniLED panels drain more battery even on lower brightness
Damn I just got the g16 white amd last month😅. I'll wait another 3 years before I'll consider any date. I got the amd cpu 32gb ram and 4060 for 2300 cad total. Is that a good deal after the new rtx 5000s seties😂?
I really thing Asus and microsoft pcs in general should go all out cause the m4 is soo good at every single thing apart from gaming even the mini led is superb
I am not sure I agree with you. The M4 Macbooks are great, but some people actually want/need Nvidia GPUs, some might prefer OLEDs, and the MiniLEDs in the Strix Scars are better in some key areas (response times, for example) than the ones that Apple uses!

Now I can't unsee the blurry color shifted text OLED produces compared to the perfectly sharp MacBook Pro. I also noticed that the black levels are hardly different between the high quality LCD on the MacBook and the OLED on my G16. My g16 also has a horrendous touchpad, and at max sensitivity feels sluggish. Not sure how many people would actually need an Nvidia GPU if games were optimized for MacBooks, and for video editing or general productivity work, the 2024 Ryzen AI G16 I had was absolutely horrendous compared to the MacBook. If all software was optimized for MacBooks, I don't think there would be a reason besides RGB to get a gaming laptop.
The Flow Z13 looks great for gaming. But for content creation, I wish there was a version with a hires display and a M.2 2280 SSD. Both are available in much smaller devices and in older tablets (e.g. ThinkPad X1 Tablet 3rd gen). So why not with a modern tablet like the Flow Z13?
I would love to see a Z13 with OLED screen and an HX3D CPU. With the 5090 XG Mobile, a Z13 variant that’s meant to maximize pairing with that eGPU would be fantastic.
you will always see people having burn in issues or dead pixel issues after some years and people will reply that it won't happen if you just baby your panel but there's no way I'd want to baby my premium product because of fear I'll be unlucky enough to hit degradation way past the insurance range.
Hmm the zephyrus looks so much nicer but what will the performance impact bee on a 5090 due to the lower tdp vs a 175w rog strix? I also can never decide between mini led and oled
They killed amd this generation with no scar refresh and limited to a 5070 ti gpu very strange. I want to see who will pickup the R9 9955HX3D RTX 5090 crown.

Asus needs to be transparent in their updates. Many ROG owners find their laptops not able to power up without the help of its adaptor eventhough its battery is still having enough juice. We found that many of the modern standby and power management system inside the laptop rendered useless after some updates, even when they're detected in powercfg /a. It could drain the battery instantly when we try to power up the laptop with just its battery.
I really hope my 2023 G14 lasts forever. This form factor is so much better. Didn't expect a design refresh this year, glad to see higher end options, but I still think the 2023 model was lightyears ahead of the 2025 model.
@@bmakszim They are both better in certain aspects. The 2023 (compared to 2024) has upgradeable RAM, antiglare screen, faster refresh rate (165 vs 120...) and better airflow due to the hinge. So for competitive / serious gaming it's better, and you'd be using headphones anyways so the speakers don't matter. Definitely a better travel gaming laptop imo. The 2024 seems to be the better choice for casual gamers or for entertainment. (I spent two months debating between the two. I've had the '23 for 6 months and my friend uses the '24 right next to me every day. His runs hotter to the touch when playing games, but boy do the games visually look stunning on his machine) Thank you for coming to my TED talk lmfao

Even though I prefer AMD but only Intel supports thunderbolt 5 that would work with the new XG Mobile 5090 to full bandwidth :( May have to buy intel this time, I just hope this year Intel uses TSMC manufacturing, so it doesn't suck

From what I know it's not that per se. In some markets people simply do not buy/want AMD, so it doesn't make sense for manufacturers to offer AMD based systems on a grander scale. Supply by team Red is also a topic. It's not all about evil companies bribing anybody ;)
@@NotebookcheckReviews yes, & they both look plasticky & very tame compared to the older boys like ROG GX800 & Zephyrus GX531GX etc. if they could retain the current design language of the strix series but remove all the punk designs & make the laptop from aluminum with a brushed metallic finishing, it'll be awesome. they're losing to Alienware in terms of the premium feel.

Oled is just better if you don't need super high brightness. Even than zephyrus screens are great for hdr anyway

You can consider flow z13, it has up to 128G of ram lol. Adaptable, more to CPU or more toward GPU so you run huge model that uses tons of GPU VRAM
there are 64GB versions on their website for the zephyrus lineup
