Savage Flies is a project with the mission of encouraging and teaching fly tying to as many people as possible. The channel is named after one of my western Maryland homewaters, the Savage River. Thanks for stopping by.
G’morning Matt. You weren’t kidding, this is a really simple and effective pattern. Always looking forward to the next video. Thanks and see you soon.
If it floats and looks buggy….it should work. I love watching your videos and following along step by step as I attempt tying flies.
Tight lines from the Black Hills . That pattern looks awesome . I love simplicity yet effective. Thanks for sharing Matt
Love simple flies, have a great day.
☕️☕️Caddis are amazing bugs you just got to love’em. Thanks Matt😉
You gotta love the caddis flys, thanks Matt.
Simplicity at its best. I'll be tying a few of these for my box. Thanks Matt!
i like the simple patterns, seems they are the ones catching the most fish
Great little caddis to have in the box.
What an awesome, but simple fly! Thank you for sharing! Tight lines! 😎🎣
Thanks Matt for another goodlooking pattern thats simple to tie. I like the clear tutorial that easy to understand. This looks like a pattern to put I my flybox. God Bless n Fish on!
Looks easy, the kind I like
Thanks for the video, Matt
Good morning Matt. ☕️. Nice simple caddis pattern. Have to tie a few of those and see how they work. Take care and have a great weekend. You’ll get one of those Snakeheads. Looking forward to that video.
Love the simple effective ties!
Love it. Simple is often the best.
Simply effective....nice tie.
As of this morning I can attest that the sunfish in my local creek LOVE this pattern. I added a little red head and they were popping them almost the second it hit the water.
Very nice pattern Matt.quick and easy is the way to go.more time on the water.
Hi matt that caddis looks easy and productive tks 😊
Never tried one like this but that’ll change. Thx Matt
Thanks for sharing, Matt. I love the simplicity of this one. Have a blessed day, my friend.
Nice fly Matt. Thanks for posting. I think I've tied this one before except I probably wrappped the hackle after the wing. over the trimmed wing butts.
Good looking 🪰Thanks Matt
Very nice Matt
Looks great ! Thanks for sharing
Thanks Matt
Very easy. Thanks
Very nice. I’m quite partial to tent-wing caddis flies, especially partridge or pleasant, because the work so well. This is the first time I’ve seen one made with turkey, but why not? The color looks great.
Neat looking fly
Nice. I'd take that "tent" camping 😊 Seriously, that's a good looking bug. In the fall we get some bigger brown caddis around my house. I don't know what they're called but they look juicey. Thanks Matt.
Good morning Mr. Matt. You make those tent wings look soooo easy. Me?...not so much. Cheers
I am a big advocate of less is more flies in terms of materials. It's fun to do the fancy stuff, but I've tied flies with cheap sewing thread and hair off my dog's heinie and caught fish. :)
Good job!
Where do Turkey slips come from on the bird? Turkey season is upon us and I’d like to keep as many feathers as I can.
👏👏👏
