If you have #ShoulderImpingement, #LabralTears, #BicepImpingement, #NeckPain, #MidBackPain, or any other pain in the upper body, it is likely a result of excessive sitting over many years combined with a lack of body awareness and movement. Regardless of what your specific shoulder or neck pain is, one of the best techniques to learn how reduce your pain is to learn how to “scoop” the shoulder blade.
We have posted about this technique numerous times in the past and it has helped hundreds of people in our program eliminate their shoulder pain. The rotation that I am doing with the shoulder is not simple and I did not know how to do it 3 years ago. I have had impingement in both shoulders in the past and, after teaching myself this shoulder blade rotation I no longer have pain in my shoulders. Understanding how to apply this rotation to pushing, pressing, pulling, squatting, deadlifting, etc will help to create more tension in the torso and generate more power with the upper and lower body.
If you are a lifter, having an understanding of this rotation will reduce shoulder and neck pain and increase power… it’s a win-win. This movement isn’t easy at first and will take time to master. Start playing with it now!

I don't understand. Why don't you have over a million followers 🤔?
I’ve watched countless videos on scapular movement and it never made sense how it was all connected until I saw this
It finally makes sense
This makes total sense. It instantly relieves the pain and gives back mobility! Gratitude my friend is all yours ❤
You are the best on shoulders. I've had 8 surgeries per shoulder and was giving up...until you saved my life. Of all the youtubes...you're solving my problems.
8 surgeries!? For what ?😢
Just saw this been in pain for 3 months tried it and I could move my arm up again thank you for the advice Kathleen turner from london Uk
Thanks! I've watched several videos on this stuff. After 6 months, I'm punching the "Bags' again. You get right down TO it!
You're a GOD!!!! 4 weeks of pain gone in 5 seconds
What did you do?

It's calling stretching my guy lol. Doesn't happen overnight.
It works! Thanks guys!
Since I’m in severe pain, and I’m trying to strengthen the muscles… I appreciated the conversion of him.
Properly trained & aware yogis know & do this.
Shoulders consciously engaged, shoulders & shoulder blades back & down (feels like shoulder blades are tucked in)
Wow.. bam!! I think nailed it. Im literally trying this lying down in my car and its making a diff.
That helped alot thanks
Thank youu!! This solved the clicking problem. I will try the same posture tomorrow at the gym
Let me tell you what I did simple all my accident long story short I popped in place.
My off shoulder would hurt shooting a basketball so 90 degree angle would hurt or raising it up. Over my head barely could reach behind my back. Here’s what I did.
I stretched my arm straight behind my back while extended I turn my arm left and right. I heard something pop the pain was instantly gone. 90 percent better. The other 10 percent I got rid of just now lying in bed. Again by accident. I put my should at a 90 degree angle while laying down. Doing a exercise I seen on the NET, I move it to fast I believe heard another crack. I’m not hurting any more it’s at a strong 97 percent I can move it almost any way I do feel something when I get crazy with it cause of the disbelief but nothing serious I can pick my lil girl up without straining. Hope y’all understand the long story
Support from Croatia 🎉
Nice work, man. This is fantastic information.
That's it..I haven't been able to train but just recently and keeping my shoulders back has lessened the pain 90 percent better
How do I do it?... I can't move it properly
@@cherryhotshot5589I took me a little bit to do this right but I try to explain.. Try to make your shoulder blades almost touch each other when you set up to bench and hold them together close as you can..Take out some light weight on the bench and do some reps with it..Keep in mind to hold your shoulder blades together during the entire time....This is my fourth week doing this and yesterday was the first day I was pain free...it works but you have to be consistent and don't give up...Before it was months and nothing I did helped until I saw this video..I'm GREATFUL to these guys
@@cherryhotshot5589 look up scapula stretches!

This guy is the absolute best!!!
I injured my shoulder supraspinatus resulting in severe impingement in October 2020. I had 4 months of physio which helped it by 80%, but the pain was always there. I did a couple of years of calisthenics, but by November 2023 the pain hecame much worse and i had to stop calisthenics. I've been in physio from November 2023 up to now in May 2024 and it's still painful. I'm going to have a scan, but my physio believes theres no tear. I'm frustrated that i havent heen able to get back to calisthenics so far, but I'm going to have to soon and just hope the physio works. My physios have all said that it can take months and sometimes years to tepair a tendon injury.
It can. But it's not the exercises that help... it's doing them properly. Scapular position is critical. It's one of the main things we aim for in our Shoulders & Arms program.
🎉 thanks bro 😊
You super smart broe. Thanks for the tip
This is exactly what I'm going through at the moment.
Love the video, helpful. !😊
Hey guys, this is perfect. But why do I have trouble holding the scooped position for anytime longer than 20 sec. What muscles work to hold this position? Any muscle other than the serratus?
I want to know too..
hold it for as long as you can... then do it again and for longer.... then do it again and for longer... eventually it will be the natural position
I am an year late but still the serratus, lower traps, long head of the triceps, the shape of the rib cage and the Orientation of the pelvis affect the shoulder blade.
I have this thing and I thought it was an injury It have been a big problem for me after a very long time every time I do exercise or stretches it, I wasn't able to fully fix it. However the main problem is your muscles and nerves were too tight learn to relax it while scooping don't think of any various movements or think of scooping it in even more just relax your muscles and just focus on the thing that you want to work with.
You guys teach really well and allow for intuition instead of unipolar, learn by hart, one sided, unconnected stuff.
Appreciate it!
U r king bro
Thank you
now i understand why my side raises make sound when i lean but when i keep my body straight i feel no pain
Nice vid
Can you do one for hips.. for a sprinter? My left hip gets stuck after sprint drills.
How come you didn't mention side delt tendonitis or side delt pain?
My shoulder has been giving me problems, i recently realized i cannot flex my left scapula. I ovedeveloped my front delts and chest😊
It’s like he’s mad at everybody for not being doctors. 😂😂
Thanks u❤
You're welcome 😊
Ty
So how do I bring it back to normal. What exercise I'd need to do
Ya! I’m wondering too!
Bless!
hahah iT worked ....had to focus on posture.
Where’s the actual exercise video plss? I’m dying in pain and idk if it’s from the ruptured discs in my neck or my actual shoulder but my job is physical and as a single mom I can’t take off and just do nothing or test it 😅😢

That hurts...
Keeping arm out straight like him . Then moving blade back .. then lifting arm in the air hurts my shoulder.. so it would b nice for proper instructional?
What if it’s with pressed and over head lifts ?
Good🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thsts not how i hurt my shoukder, my shoulder was compressed pushing the shoulder inward toward the scapula. Its pinching between scapula and spine. ..any idea how to fix that?
Need links to movement solution.
❤❤❤❤❤
Idk how to move my scapula to the left. When I move it down I still get all the pain. I fell on my side with my arm up and my shoulder has never been the same
How?? Show me the exercise
stacking the joints
What does it mean whn your muscle pops.
Dude, ur a fuckin G
What do you recommend for shoulder blade pain from using the mouse at the desk for long hours?
You need to strengthen more external shoulder rotation to counter all that internal!
@@MoveU thanks a lot for your advice!
In shorter words, FIX YOUR DAMN POSTURE. Trust, it’ll help a lot
People with great posture also often have fucked up shoulder blades.
so i need to train scapula and back shoulder
I never comment in youtube videos, but I really needed to thank you for this.
how much time does it take to fix the winged scapula?
doc, I was doing very intense leg day for 3 hours and next day i woke up with shoulder and chest pain and today my right leg is paralyzed
Nice gains
@@DG-EditsMedia it’s been a year bro i remember my leg was paralyzed for almost a whole week and when i came back my squat went down from 185 to 95 but i brought it back up to 275 now
How to do it
you could also possibly have a labrum issue if your shoulder clicks a lot and you can feel it. get it checked out with a doctor to confirm.
What are the exercises or other solution to do it
We teach exactly this in our Shoulders & Arms and Back & Core programs.
How to treat it tho ?
Thanks. But how
Pls help me my both the shoulders suffering from very bad pain
We're helping as much as we can by putting out this kind of content. If you're ready to take action and fix yo sh*t... join our membership and let's get to work! www.moveu.com
Soooo... how do you fix it??
how exactly? Not exactly sure, i will try next time, put my shoulders 'back' ?
To get the scapular blades to 'scoop' it's more nuanced than "back" or even 'back and down'. the scaps should rotate around the rib cage while the spine remains aligned. It's a tough one to master, but we teach and coach for it in our membership. It can take some practice!
😂
Yes!
Please like this comment so i can come back to this video and remind myself to do this.
How ?
doing pushups, i have 1 scapula more retracted than the other, and the shoulder that is more retracted feels pain. any tips?
You over trained and lost symettery
Let me guess. You have either a lateral pelvic tilt or one shoulder higher than the other. Or you have both of those conditions and because of which one of your upper Lat activates much more than the other.
@@paingaming5540 how do i fix it?
@@fsfs2778 It's a much more complex problem than 99 percent of youtubers adress it to be. To strengthen the shoulder blade in the right position I would say the most important muscles are the serratus, lower traps and the long head of the tricep. But these muscles will only work best when the shape and position of your rib cage is not compromised. It's almost impossible to explain here in a comment, if you could give me a way to connect elsewhere then maybe i would be able to explain. Or else the only two channels that addressed this issue is "Conor Harris" and "PRI trainer Neal Hallinan" I will link their videos if that would help. But remember it's more of a neurological issue and less of a muscle issue

@@paingaming5540 thank you for the wonderful insight n videos. Greatly appreciate it, will contact u soon once im done understanding these concepts.
I would always flex my traps and that would bring my scalpula badly shrugged
Yeeep.
Ok, show us how to fix it
Mastering the Scap Scoop is how to fix it! We cover that extensively in our membership -> Shoulders & Arms program.
Yeah so how I do that. I’m dying here with shoulder pain
Tell me
So how?
Posterior tilt right?
what exercises to do to fix it???
Several. All involve external rotation of the shoulder and scapular strength/mobility. There's never "just one".
Athlean-Y
To bad i already tear my rotator cuff 😢
Then you especially need to stabilize that joint! Our Shoulders & Arms program will help with that. www.moveu.com
How can I retrain my shoulder blade to come down?
Strengthening the lower lats and serrates muscles is a start. Our Shoulders & Arms program helps you do that. Link is in bio.
This guy looks like a short Adam Driver. Henceforth He shall be known as Kaillou Ren or Ben Solow!
Sooooo, not gonna give any info on how best to train the scap???
That's what we do in our membership.
What muscle must we growth?
Ummm... all of them?
the model ist wrong. supraspinatus inserts more lateral
Cn somebody plz simplify it
It can sound complicated. That's why we have coaches in our MoveU membership! www.moveu.com
So what’s the exercise we gotta do?
We have them all in our Shoulders & Arms and Back & Core programs: moveu.com
