This reminds me of a horrible shoulder experience that I lived with for about a year before it got better. It came from one day of extensive yard work. The next day, I could not raise my arms above my head, button a shirt, or pick up my child. I was miserable. I finally went to an ortho doctor who gave me steroid shots on both shoulders. The pain was noticably less within minutes. The range of motion came back after PT and rock climbing. It took about 2-3 years to get to 95-99% of where I was before the injury. The doctor said it was "frozen shoulders.". That was an awful experience, but I'm glad I came out ok.

I was diagnosed with acute acromial bursitis of my shoulder by a physical therapist, which I’ve had in both of my shoulders, but thankfully at different times. I could not bear any form of movement in the affected shoulder/arm, even the slightest movement of my arm or hand caused excruciating pain in my shoulder, bringing me to physical tears. I even had to sit in a chair to try and sleep as I could not lie down. This would come on suddenly or with little to no warning, and would last for at least 4-5 weeks at a time. I would not be able to perform any of the movements you suggest, due to the extreme pain, but found your video to be very explanatory, so I now understand the what and the why now. Great info guys thank you.

@@anneboyle2951 PRP stands for "Platelet Rich Plasma." These are "injections." First they draw your blood. Then they "spin" it in a specially designed centrifuge which separates out your rich platelets from the blood plasma. Then they "inject" back into the area injured the platelets. I've had it done on both my left and right shoulder and it's worked in both instances. The doctor directs it via ultrasound so he/she can see exactly where the platelets are being directed. My orthopedic is in Orange County, CA and if you're in the area let me know and I would be happy to recommend him.

I've had De Quervanes tendonitis in my wrist for 5 months now with excruciating pain. I had a cortisone injection in my wrist 4 wks ago. A couple days later I had a cortisone flare up, but not only in my wrist, my whole arm was flared up I couldn't move it at all. It was painful like it was broken. Four weeks later, which is now, I still have excruciating pain and can't hold anything or do anything. The doctors gave me a splint. I had an x-ray and ultrasound last week which showed tendonitis and bursitis in my arm. They also said the tendon had a big tear in it. Well that was it. They said physical therapy may help but I didn't get any exercises. It's too late sore to put my arm behind my back but I can do the massaging one with my arm straight out. I am in terrible pain for five months between my wrist and arm.

What if you can't get your hand to the opposite shoulder to do the test? Normally, I would be able to put my hand on the opposite shoulder, but I can't now. Same with the "lift off" test that you showed in another video. I am not able to get my hand on my back (starting position for the "lift off" test), but ordinarily I would be able to do that. I also cannot get my arm in a 90 degree angle with my hand downward (like the driving hand signal for stop). Instead, my arm stops when it's parallel to the ground. I went to urgent care, and they thought it might be dislocated, but the Xray came back normal. They sent me to an Orthopedic surgeon in their network (which I saw the Physician's Assistant). He said it was Bursitis and gave me a cortisone injection.I had 2 incidents. 6 days ago, I was in bed, and I reached above my head to pull my Purple pillow (has some weight to it). It felt like I had a slightly pulled muscle. 3 days ago, I was eating a cashew as I plopped down into my recliner (I might have been twisting too to pick up my laptop off the end table) during this motion. I felt a pop in the top of my shoulder. I do have an appt with my normal orthopedic surgeon next week. With all of these tests, I wonder what it means if you can't get into the starting position for the test.

Nice Video! Sorry for chiming in, I would appreciate your thoughts. Have you researched - Schallingora Font Storage Scheme (should be on google have a look)? It is a smashing one off product for getting rid of your shoulder pain without the hard work. Ive heard some super things about it and my work buddy at last got excellent success with it.

Since I've been working from home, because of the pandemic, I've been sitting, working at kitchen table. I think the position of my keyboard, angle of arms, all relative to height of table is reeking havoc on both shoulders. Esp the shoulder that hasnt been "frozen" before. Just doing as you said arm out, palm out is uncomfortable. I need to get to a p.t. ha

I know this isn’t relevant for what the video is about but Ives has extremely sore legs since a workout session focusing on my legs. I’ve tried foam rolling and it worked for a while and felt a little relieved but after that it just went back to how it was. What do you think I could do to help?

I had bursitis at 24. An orthopaedic surgeon gave me a shot.of Bute (the pain went away almost immediately, stayed away and never came back) Until now at 75, I don't know if it's bursitis. I definitely have that pain under the bone at (almost) the end of my shoulder, but it also goes up my neck. I also have pain in outside middle of my shoulder blade (outside meaning towards the spine) If I walk my fingers straight up I arrive at the point of the pain in my neck
I can lift things, even heavy things. The worst pain comes from washing the dishes. It's pretty much a circular or back and forth motion. The pain becomes excruciating to be point of tears. I THINK I got this doing the side plank in the McGill big 3. (Sorry Dr. McGill). Anyone? Thanks in advance.

Maybe this will help someone, an alternative cure. I started having some mild pain in my right shoulder after I started doing overhead push-ups with some small weights. I researched and found out that it was probably bursitis.
One thing that one site said is that there needs to be blood flow to that area. Well, I know that magnets, therapeutic magnets, increase blood flow.
I taped a therapeutic grade magnet, high gauss, North pole side facing the skin, onto the area of pain. Within 24 hours the pain was gone.
Once I had a surgeon to tell me that I needed surgery for pain in my right shoulder. This was not when I was doing those exercises. I’m not sure what was causing the pain at that time, but I put a magnet over the area then too. And the pain went away and I did not need the surgery.
