    26 MPG? With a 700 hp muscle car? That's quite impressive.

    • @SillyPuddy2012
      @SillyPuddy2012 9 лет назад +10

      Tuppoo94 I averaged 28 mpg hwy in a rented Chevy Sonic, on paper it's good for 30 or more. Expecting anything close to 26 on average in the Hellcat is *very* optimistic, especially considering the drag.

    • @metalmanjakson01
      @metalmanjakson01 9 лет назад +6

      SillyPuddy2012 it is pretty sad that my 15 year old 330i gets better milage on the highway than a brand new sonic. My car is bigger, heavier, and more powerful, yet it averages 30+ mpg.

    • @SillyPuddy2012
      @SillyPuddy2012 9 лет назад +1

      metalmanjakson01 There are probably conditions where the Sonic could have done 30 or better, just not the ones I was driving in. But I will say this, if the Sonic is anything to go by, economy cars have come light years in refinement and driving fun. The thing was tight, and handled like it was on rails.

    This car was an accomplishment. Coming from the factory with 707hp isn't easy, due to emissions and safety. There could never be a car like this if the emissions get stricter and the government comes in. I don't think the Hellcat deserves the hate, and I understand why it is. There's non-car enthusiast coming in and hating on it because they only like Ford or Chevy. There all have their goods and bads. Real car enthusiast shouldn't hate because we all love the cars.

    • @Tuppoo94
      @Tuppoo94 9 лет назад +2

      I'm pretty sure the manufacturers will find a way past future emission standards. Never say never. In the 70's cars with big V8s had like 150 hp. Nowadays they have, in this case at least, 700 hp, and still get way better fuel mileage, 26 MPG on the highway as mentioned on the video. And the lower the fuel consumption the lower the emissions.

      ***** holy shit that's scary if they're gonna make it lighter lol looks like for and Chevy have some work to do. The GTR NISMO beat the 2015 C7 Z06 and that was supposed to be the bad ass coming out. I personally like what they have done w the challenger and I'm a Chevy guy

    • @mr.cambrady5335

      Cam Brady 012 Now I am not trying to take anything away from the Nismo that car is a beast but remember the Zo6 is basically the old ZR1 with a new body and some new technology it wasn't really meant to be the top end you will haft to wait for the new ZR1 for that and the Zo6 is still pretty bad ass

      The Hellcats won't be built after about 2020 b/c of the 55mpg CAFE standards going into effect in 2025 so if you want one better get your deposit in asap.

      Well I have an 07 charger r/t hemi, with 80k miles. Had to change the alternator around 30k, at 40k there was a transmission problem. Around 60k, there was an electronics problem that reappeared at 70k, and at around 77k, it developed an issue with the ABS. That is all not including standard maintenance procedures. From my experience, it's safe to say that it is a high maintenance car (compared to my '02 silverado, which has 127k miles, and only needed a fuel pump change at around 80k, other than standard maintenance).

    The Charger Hellcat is between the best cars ever made. It's not expensive, it is very powerful, it looks good, sounds good, and you can take your family with you. This is brilliant, isn't it? The bad side is: By the end of the day, you'll never use all of its power. Knowing that you have the best performance available and not using it, makes you want to use it, and at the end, you get ticked. I want to have this car, but paying that amount of money (180.000$ in my country) for a 700hp sedan, and not using this power (here are no racetracks), makes no sense. If i live in the USA, I'll save money and buy one, because this car is awesome.

      The 8-speed auto is the only transmission available for the Charger Hellcat. The Challenger Hellcat, however, can be had with a manual gearbox.

      Damn this sedan muscle car would of been sweet with a manual. Idk y cars these day are turning auto, it's boring. Manual is a lot more fun

    haha ran out of gas on the racetrack :)
    The sticker price really seems tempting, and the 100k waranty speaks for itself. There is hardly a reason not to buy one... or two...

    I see people with a Charger around my town and I really think "why?" because the only open roads we have here is a bunch of dirt!

    With a top of the line radar detector and these huge isolated American interstates, this is the perfect sedan that will cover all of your Gen X and Y family needs and be cool doing it. :o)

      I haven't foamed at the mouth for a sedan in a loooong time but this one is kinda making me drool. Do I spy BBS wheels and Brembo brakes?

      Blaq Demon Certain styles are a booger to clean but what gorgeous wheels. And the stopping power of Brembo, with that kind of weight and horsepower, the driver will need it.

      +Saibal Chakrabarti 220 is mph. 320 would be kph and they will go faster then 202. the computer stops it at 202. take off the speed limiter then you to scared to keep holding the throttle down down cause 220 is still not top end with 8 gears. home girl has the white charger hell cat with the speed limiter removed. we baried the speedo past 220 at the flats in utah

      Bristol Daffern think logically the charger hellcat cannot go faster than 202.

    It's the 700 horses. Other than that, this is a tired design, a car you wouldn't take a second look at. Without thinking about it, I could give you ten different makes in the same price range you would purchase before this. This is the Charger's last incarnation before re tooling.

    Oh put 2 250lb men in the back seat and it won't really spin anymore. they get all sorts of traction and then there krazy. with one person they just spin. weigh down the ass in and then hold on. with weight in the back they pull harder then the gtr. and that's a fact
