  • Join Daniel and Robert Hisee, a Podcaster and the UK's no1 unconscious mind therapist, as they discuss alcohol addiction, mental health and the role of ADHD in addiction on this Menace to Sobriety Podcast episode. Robert and Daniel also talk about how to transform your mindset and ways of thinking and their personal experience of addiction and ADHD.
“I’m Robert Hisee, the UK’s number 1 unconscious mind therapist. I’ve only been sober 61 days on the day of the podcast, not like everyone else, I’ve not stopped because I wanted to stop, I just woke up hungover one morning and I said that’s it, I’m clean and I haven’t even had any cravings. Mine’s not the same as everyone else’s, I’m not fighting it, struggling or trying, I just woke up and stopped. I’m not sure how I’ve done it as I’ve been drinking since I was 15 years old. There is a reason behind it which I’ll go into during this podcast, about the reticular activating system and what I’ve been re-programming my mind with, and I think that just took over and did it for me.”

I've been on my sober journey for just over a year, my ex Mrs woke up on boxing day of 2021 to find my off my nut on coke, I'm 200 days clean of Coke, 60 days from alcohol and these podcasts couldn't have come at a better time! Thanks mate. All the best.

You are smashing these podcast. Can’t wait for the next. I,m wishing you great success with this. I am a 52 yr old female who woke up this morning and I just know I’m sober from now on. Just like Rob, I can’t explain it. I have been working on my subconscious and it’s just clicked. Alcohol is addictive and that’s that. I need to start visualising my future now and start building daily habits. This year is the start of my new life. Enjoyed listening to your banter even if I am Female from Yorkshire.❤

Dapper mate I just want to let you know the podcasts you’ve done have made me learn so much about myself. I never thought about ADHD and addiction but I really think it could be my issue. My thoughts are all over the place until I’m on it and partying. Iv struggled massively keeping on top of of my thoughts over the last 10 years and honestly felt like there’s no way out but listening to you and the guests is really helping me. Keep it up mate your doing something great here 👍

Damn that whole thing on saying "I'm clean" instead of "I'm an alcoholic" is a really good piece of advice.
If you are an alcoholic it's not bad to be reminded of that, but it's also good to remind yourself that you've worked on changing that.
Lot of good stuff in this show. Appreciate it for sure guys. I'm a little over a month and having tools like this podcast to explain and help through sobriety are a gift.

Nice title, great content for anyone struggling with addiction. My story is a long ting 😆
I’m 5 years off the alcohol and coca, 5 years, 24 days and around 12(ish) hours give or take for a cheeky line to finish off the baggie.
Recently I have been craving the sesh more than ever, mostly because all the pride I have/had from giving it up has worn off. I did it without help just pure fear and will power. I now have mostly people around me who don’t know me as a party/problem person so don’t know the extent of my past issues, they don’t know the addict who still remains lurking in the background. My mental health has been suffering lately, it all ties in with my addictive nature and my need for self medication but talking with newbies in my life that don’t know me from before only makes me want to get on it again, and talking with the crew who know the old me will only ever lead to a sesh so I’m left on my own in my head struggling, fighting urges I thought I’d never have to again but ultimately coming to the realisation that long term sobriety never gets easier really, because there’s always a good reason to get on it. Equally there’s always a choice not to…. Making the right decision is never easy.
Keep up the podcast!! I’m a big fan!

This year is tough because I am not only starting a “clean” run, I am getting in shape so the food is not an option.
