First Week of Thistle Deliveries! | Best Diet for Depression and to Balance Hormones

- Hello, honey buns! In today's video I talk about my experience with the delivery service Thistle. Thistle's plant-based meals are 100% gluten and dairy free. They are mindful of allergies and have vegan and animal protein options as well.
The main reasons I decided to go for Thistle:
1. According to Felice Jacka's research in the Smiles Trails, Legumes (kidney beans, pinto, peas, mung, black beans, ect) ARE SUPER IMPORTANT. They make up the base of the Mediterranean Diet's food pyramid... I was barely getting any of these in my diet at ALL.
What's so great about vegan/vegetarian cuisine is that it included so many of these plant-based proteins. It was a no brainer for me to go more plant based to get my legumes in while having a low-processed diet allowing me to not have crazy spikes of glucose from my meals. (The carb/sugar crash that we all know and love)
2. I DON'T WANT TO COOK DUDE.
At this moment in my life, I have SO many things on my to-do's. It's exciting. However, with my hormonal mood shifts and imbalances during the month, I have difficulty planning, organizing, and cooking meals.
Sometimes I would wait too long to eat and get immense brain fog: mindlessly staring into the fridge before calling a pizza. Then there are a few times during the months that I get so sad it's hard for me to get out of bed. The PMDD (premenstrual dysphoria disorder) hits hard every month.
Having a meal delivery service helps me take better care of myself. I know the meals are going to help me improve my health and I don't have to think about it. I no longer miss meals because I'm too anxious or busy working.
I am extremely satisfied with my deliveries. This is not a sponsored video but I am such a believer in their product I would work with them. I have tried other meal services in the past, and even hired a private chef for a week. This thought by far was my favorite!

About Lebossy ✨
So many of us are going about our day secretly depressed, crippled with anxiety, dealing with dysfunctional relationships, and feeling isolated to the point of numbness. Yet we put on a brave face as we head out the door, brushing the problems aside, and get through the day without really working through the real issue. I know this pain, intimately which is why I created this channel to share my own experiences and what’s worked for me.
On my website and videos, I share useful strategies to improve your life and outlook based on research studies, spiritual practices, and personal experience. In every video I hope to help improve your self-esteem and make life a little easier. My goal is to spark a little joy in your world and hopefully give you a light-bulb moment at the same time.

Wow, those meals look yummy
They were really well crafted! Especially the dinners. Lots of flavors, textures, and variety.
wait... how do I meal prep smoothies?
Would love a follow up video on this if possible?
Hey! Yes I will do that soon. :) I enjoyed the convience of thistle. Did this for about 3-4 months. I ended up going back to cooking my own meals but the principles of depression fighting foods/Mediterranean diet does come in handy. If you are going through something difficult on top of a baseline of depression I would say keep in mind that the tornado you are going through is still going to be a pain in the ass, however eating healthier will help fuel your brain to think clearer and get less overwhelmed by what's going on (although you still will feel it). The salads and cooked food are awesome from thistle. When I do it again I would probably do just lunch or dinner meals for the week so I can still cook my own thing, or have a sandwich.
@@lebossy thanks! Yeah I'm not a fan of the breakfasts 😂
Aw man! I haven't tried them but I was hoping they would be good! I feel like the salads were still my favorite, less work better made than I would do myself. I liked the curries too. I would get the soups/small side dishes but those weren't my fav.@@SOLTANA17
@@lebossy I wanted to try the soup, but gave it to my husband who was feeling kind of poorly lol. I just am not into oatmeal and wet or sweet breakfast and that's all they've offered so far. Otherwise I enjoy the meals.
@@SOLTANA17 Agreed! I think too as far as texture after a while I was craving something different for dinners than something on the more soft side. Also, missed a little bit of cooking/planning my own thing
Some of that stuff looks tasty...not big on beans...and still hate brussel sprouts after all these years...not just a kid thing. I don't know about you finding me handsome, but I am 6 feet tall and would want to eat more than your fist size. 😅 Do they have like a "THISTLE hit the spot and is healthy" slogan?
No, the meals are not that great! Waaaaaay too much spinach, kale, bleached chicken cubes, quinoa and sweet potatoes in these meals.
Want to videochat on discord sometime and watch Rupaul or something? Might be fun. Hmu sometime late so I'm drunk enough to think it's a good idea lol. Only sort of kidding, I think I kinda miss you
Same number-- you've probably got it written down on some form somewhere.
Standing offer-- no judgment. Katya and Alaska are the best.
