Pros: My daughter gets Hello Fresh and she said its DELICIOUS! Shes a very very picky eater and for her to say its that good, i have to take her word for it. Cons: Its very expensive. To pay 95.00 for 4 meals that i can buy at the grocery store and make myself for ½ the price is a better way, BUT for those who cant seem to make it to the grocery store and can afford it, this is ideal. My daughters also said a lot of her foods went to waste because the fresh items went bad very FAST and she just didnt have the time to prep and cook after working 12 hr day's, so of youre gonna commit to this, make sure you have time to cook or get meals you can freeze or somehow make them last longer. 👍 Overall my daughters rating of the food is 10/10 and that's enuff for me to try this and ill be ordering my 1st box for me and my husband! 😊 Ill give it a try.
I don't mind doing more involved cooking on the weekend, but not everyday. I would like to see what it's like on the time-saving plan, particularly in combination with the calorie conscious plan.
Here's the thing. I'm single. When I go to the grocery, I look for vegetables that are not sized for families. Why, because it's a real waste having to throw thing out. But, if I can get small mixes of vegetables that are already preped, I can toss them in a pot with ramen or such. Simple, fast, and not wasteful. Anything that takes more steps than that on a weekday is not happening.
Tremendous food review and I absolutely love Hello Fresh. Reasonably priced and the food is delicious. Easy to prepare for us bachelor types. Great vid!
Convenient is subjective. My wife and I both work, so not having to plan meals, having everything ready to go, and being able to make this is less than 45 minutes is convenient.
Thank you for not making a 30min long video. It's short and very informative. Spot on! I am curious about signing up for a family of 4 but I am only given the 3 meal per week option. It doesn't show any more information to know if this is 3 meals a week per month or just for one week. Despite of looking at their very confusing FAQ couldn't find an answer to this. $99 for 3 meals for a family of 4 is quite pricey. However, if it's $99 for 3 meals a week for a month then it's a good deal.
So happy you enjoyed the video :). I noticed so many other meal kit reviews ramble on for 30+ minutes so we try to make these as short and informative as possible! Hmm, you're right! For a family of 4 you "should" be able to get up to 6 meals per week. I think what's happening is that so many people are signing up for HelloFresh because no one wants to go to the grocery store right now so Hello Fresh may have reduced the amount of meals that can be ordered right now (it should go up). Also, the more meals you get, the lower the price per meal goes. I believe that with family of 4 at 6 meals per week comes out to around $8 per serving.
Thanks for this review! I plan to try my first meal kit next week and am excited to do a review on my channel! You are so close to 100K! Congrats! One more new subbie here!
I'm a VERY picky eater, so much so my kids put me in check demanding I don't send food back before arriving at a restaurant. These meals are AWESOME!!!! I haven't been disappointed yet! My only adjustment is we cut any packets with sauce in half. We don't use much salt . 😊 it's the same $ as I buy for my homemade meals and just as good with no waste.
If I didn't enjoy cooking and sipping my wine so much (it's a relaxing activity for me) I would probably give HF a try. I get why people would use the HF option.
you can suspend but normally you pay for every week , every box (because you always get 1 box every week). You can cancel at any time the week is over (though only until sunday the week before usually, its on their website more info)
I actually loved Hello Fresh at first. The meals were delivered on time, were simple and delicious, not to mention priced reasonably and with straight forward recipes. Then, shipments started to roll in 2-3 days late (pre-COVID) aka they were RUINED. I got no explanation though I tried to contact customer service *many* times. After the 4th missed delivery (actually our Thanksgiving Box) which literally DESTROYED my family’s Thanksgiving last year...I CANCELLED after that. I let them know about all of the issues that their service had caused our family, multiple times and received NO RESPONSE whatsoever. Last year’s Thanksgiving ended up being our last Thanksgiving with our mother. I had ordered their Thanksgiving box to prepare for my husband, aunt and parents. We never received it after MANY attempts to find out the status. We ended up eating frozen meals from our freezer. So THANKS Hello Fresh....for the last holiday memories with our Mom. Thank you for answering all of my emails and correspondence about what you did and how you did NOTHING about it. If anyone subscribes to this service, get ready for POOR customer service and BS deliveries. NOTE: They use Fed Ex and though I filed MULTIPLE complaints, FedEx continued to leave their FOOD DELIVERIES on our VERY SUNNY PORCH with out knocking or ANY notification of delivery. I notified them and FedEx and it continued to happen.
Ironically, that incident has made your last Thanksgiving with your Mom even more memorable. It makes a good story now, and you'll likely never forget it.
Leaving a holiday dinner outcome to chance with a delivery service seems like a bad idea. So many things could go wrong. Did Hello Fresh send it on time and the delivery service had issues? Box has Ice in it, was your food spoiled? It's supposed to be a supplement to your regular cooking so if it's a day or two late it shouldn't be a problem. Sometimes peoples expectations for something new are set so high they cant possibly be met. What? I still have to chop my veggies? I still have to feed myself?
You still have to pay for a full week's worth of meals but you get 10 free with that too right? If not how do I order just get the 10 free meals to see if I want to subscribe to the service or not?
I'm someone who can't cook and is very picky, and got bored eating microwave food. So far hellofresh is more expensive for me, but I'm learning more cooking skills and eating much healthier which is important to me. I also like not wasting food!
Dang you’re really cool! For a second there are zoned out and I was enjoying watching the cooking. And then for some reason watching you eat was satisfying. Well also keep in mind I’ve been on an intermittent fast for 25 hours now lol
Maybe I just don’t know how it works but it’s very expensive imo ,week one was$32 which was great ,week 2 $62,week 3 $98😢😢😢!!! For 3 meals a week for 2 people?
You pay weekly. It's not worth it. You pay a lot for ingredients you can get for much less and better quality, and then they still charge you $10 for shipping. On top of that, ingredients go missing and meals might arrive late
@@louierivera330 We're loving it! Highly recommend. Don't expect to save money, but definitely save mental energy. You still need some cooking skills for HelloFresh. I think a newbie at cooking might have a hard time, depending on the recipe.
I love hello fresh, but the longer I kept the subscription, it seemed the less fresh the produce became. I have had to go buy ingredients to complete the recipe. I do like the meal prep.
We just got our first box today from Hello Fresh. The stuff was just thrown into the box and the bags were wet for some reason. We cooked our meal as directed and, as you said, it's a bit more involved than we thought. It tasted okay, but we won't be staying with the program, as it's just too much trouble.
I just read on another video that sometime over the last couple of months (it’s now September 2021) that they’ve switched their system so that you have to submit payment and then they present you the meal options. That’s totally ludicrous… It’s like going to a restaurant and paying before they sit down and give you the menu! Nobody would put up with that! Can anyone verify that this is how it’s now done?
I tried this service the last couple weeks. For somebody who is already an avid cook, I find it not as useful and cost effective. Meals are not as healthy as I would like in order to continue to use the service. It leans on the expensive side as I figure it costs around $10-12 dollars per person a meal. However, it made me become more cognizant of portion sizes which is a plus. Taste is not bad but I find most recipes to be too sweet for my taste, making it seem a little to fast food tasting. Over all I would recommend this to somebody who may feel that they are stuck in a rout as to there regularly dishes.
They can! You'll just have 2 servings worth of food. But for some people that is just the right amount of food. Here's a list of meal delivery services for singles though - foodboxhq.com/blog/best-meal-delivery-services-for-one-person/
One of the least expensive pre-made meal delivery services is Fresh n Lean (pre-made and fresh). Mosaic Foods is another great pre-made option -- they're frozen meals. Still really good though. We have reviews of both here on our channel as well as over on our website at foodboxhq.com.
I think, for delivering healthy food, they have a good job. of course the recipe isnt very healthy because they want to get customer, but it is healthy enough if we compare it to most american food franchise
I struggle with the lack of variety in the side dishes. They seem to be dominated by carrot, Brussel sprouts, and broccoli, none of which I care for. Idon’t want pasta because I can make it myself for a lot less. Same for burgers. Going to stay with it for a bit longer. The entrees are really good.
I got a free gift card for Hellofresh but it's used for discounting purchases. I already know how to cook my own food, so I'm not sure if there's a point in buying their meal kits even if I have discounts.
They assume you have butter and oil. The seasonings are from hello fresh, which have been really delicious. We actually put a link to how to make all them at home in our blog review (in description).
@rivs I think you're right, it's really economical especially for a single person who likes leftovers, especially with the quality of the food shown here.
@rivs honestly speaking I think that sounds really expensive... My mom does the grocery shopping for an entire week (for 4 people and 3 meals a day) spending about 70€ (about 81$) a week... I need about 150€ (about 174$) per month for food for myself. Is food really that expensive in the US?
@@blackforest_fairy I think Hellofresh is more suited for those who r busy but cant afford to eat out all the time, but don't have the time to shop & cant cook...
@@blackforest_fairy HA!! Yes. It is that expensive here. 80$ worth of good food from the grocery store will get to 2 to 3 meals. Not 2-3 days worth of 3 meals a day. 80=3 dinners. Obviously this is for something similar to what is shown in this video. If youre living off of boxed mac n cheese, ramen noodles and PB&J then thays a different story.
Did you get a 4 person or two-person kit? And how many servings for the week? Just trying to get a sense of the scale of all the things you demonstrated. Just curious, I may have missed that part. Great Review!
Hey Brenda! This is their 2 person box with 3 recipes at 2 servings each so 6 meals total. We also added on a pulled chicken sandwich, avocados, and chocolate lava cake from their marketplace :).
Not sure about the subscription just that you can cancel it any time. The food is $8.99 per serving plus $8.99 for shipping. It ships every week so 3 days worth of meals for 2 people would be would roughly be $62.93 a week.
I noticed that you used olive oil. Is that included or do you have to buy your own? You seemed to have used your own salt and pepper. Is that not included in with the seasoning packets?
I signed up for 2 different meal kits and got half off deal or more on both. Would I do this every week or 2 no, it'll be crazy expensive and I like to grocery shop so the option to skip weeks is nice until again I come a week with another good deal and equally delicious recipes yes ! Worth it
Does anyone think they have actually 1. Saved money by doing this since they are wasting less food, doing less impulse buying, and not overbuying products, and 2. Lost weight since they are portioned out avoiding the option of getting seconds lol. It seems kind of expensive but I wonder if the cost would actually be offset for these reasons... I would be curious to know if anyone noticed either of these things while using hello fresh.
HelloFresh might not be the “best” option for those. It’s great for learning how to cook though. EveryPlate and Dinnerly are great options for saving money. As for weight loss meal kits, there aren’t a ton but BistroMD and Diet to Go are two of the front runners. Hope that helps :).
HelloFresh wouldn't be my #1 pick for a weight loss meal delivery service but they do have a good "fit & wholesome" plan with lower calorie/carb options. Here are all of our favorites: foodboxhq.com/blog/weight-loss-meal-delivery-services/

Overall my daughters rating of the food is 10/10 and that's enuff for me to try this and ill be ordering my 1st box for me and my husband! 😊 Ill give it a try.
That $95 should be for the 8 serving plan so around $11.90/meal (serving per person).
This the best most fulfilling explanation of what needs to be done step by step.
Thank you!
I don't mind doing more involved cooking on the weekend, but not everyday. I would like to see what it's like on the time-saving plan, particularly in combination with the calorie conscious plan.
apparently they have a 20 min meal plan
Here's the thing. I'm single. When I go to the grocery, I look for vegetables that are not sized for families. Why, because it's a real waste having to throw thing out. But, if I can get small mixes of vegetables that are already preped, I can toss them in a pot with ramen or such. Simple, fast, and not wasteful. Anything that takes more steps than that on a weekday is not happening.
I have never saw a hello fresh box packed as nice like yours.
Tremendous food review and I absolutely love Hello Fresh. Reasonably priced and the food is delicious. Easy to prepare for us bachelor types. Great vid!
Thank you! 😃
I'll just keep going to the store, seems much more simple, cheaper, and more convenient.
This couldn't be any simpler. It is not to be a complete grocery replacement program.
I could use this due to my severe arthritis.
Love this review... it has info by the jug.
I'm trying my first meals, website was a bit of a bully but it's done.. oh well gonna give it a try. I wonder if they have keto friendly meals?
love this vid, very straight forward and wholesome
Thank you!
I've been using them for 3 weeks.
My family has liked everything.
Great to hear!
Great review! Very informative, really appreciate it!
Thank you so much! 😃
Thanks for this review! I plan to try my first meal kit next week and am excited to do a review on my channel! You are so close to 100K! Congrats! One more new subbie here!
Aw thank you so much!!
@@FoodBoxHQ Absolutely!
Great video! Loved it.
Thank you!
Thks for your vid! I ordered my first 3 meals per week for 2 people waa! I am so excited!!! 👏🏼 great video!
What’s that cost?
In terms of paying: is the subscription weekly based, bi-weekly, or monthly?
you can suspend but normally you pay for every week , every box (because you always get 1 box every week).
You can cancel at any time the week is over (though only until sunday the week before usually, its on their website more info)
Your review made me get a box to review it as well thanks 👍
NOTE: They use Fed
Ex and though I filed MULTIPLE complaints, FedEx continued to leave their FOOD DELIVERIES on our VERY SUNNY PORCH with out knocking or ANY notification of delivery.
Chegg gave me 10 free meals from Hello Fresh, so I am learning about this service.
Nice! I appreciate that they’re carbon neutral too.
Helpful video thanks!
Dang you’re really cool! For a second there are zoned out and I was enjoying watching the cooking. And then for some reason watching you eat was satisfying. Well also keep in mind I’ve been on an intermittent fast for 25 hours now lol
haha fasting that long will do it!
I am just getting this , I ordered it today.
Do they deliver the stuffs to you on the day you order them or you have to wait for a few days for them to reach the destination?
From what I saw, they come on fixed days. For me its every Sunday, but idk if its different elsewhere.
Maybe I just don’t know how it works but it’s very expensive imo ,week one was$32 which was great ,week 2 $62,week 3 $98😢😢😢!!!
For 3 meals a week for 2 people?
So do you pay monthly for the meals as a subscription or do you pay every week for all the meals you choose each week?
That’s my question!
You pay weekly. It's not worth it. You pay a lot for ingredients you can get for much less and better quality, and then they still charge you $10 for shipping. On top of that, ingredients go missing and meals might arrive late
Looking forward to getting my first soon. Thanks for the great video! Gonna check out your Freshly video.
aw thank you!
How was it?
@@louierivera330 We're loving it! Highly recommend. Don't expect to save money, but definitely save mental energy. You still need some cooking skills for HelloFresh. I think a newbie at cooking might have a hard time, depending on the recipe.
Don’t waste your money
I didn't know it involves this much cooking. Thanks for the video
I love hello fresh, but the longer I kept the subscription, it seemed the less fresh the produce became. I have had to go buy ingredients to complete the recipe. I do like the meal prep.
We’ve loved everything we have gotten from Hello Fresh!! Definitely delicious 😋
Nice!
Love the fact that they are carbon neutral and (almost) everything is recyclable.
We just got our first box today from Hello Fresh. The stuff was just thrown into the box and the bags were wet for some reason. We cooked our meal as directed and, as you said, it's a bit more involved than we thought. It tasted okay, but we won't be staying with the program, as it's just too much trouble.
Glad you liked it. Remember BUTTER is one of the major food groups as if BACON
Thank you now I am more confident in Ordering from HF
You’re welcome!
Great cant wait to try this
I just read on another video that sometime over the last couple of months (it’s now September 2021) that they’ve switched their system so that you have to submit payment and then they present you the meal options. That’s totally ludicrous… It’s like going to a restaurant and paying before they sit down and give you the menu! Nobody would put up with that!
Can anyone verify that this is how it’s now done?
Verified. Definitely pay before you order smh 😒
I seen that but why
I tried this service the last couple weeks. For somebody who is already an avid cook, I find it not as useful and cost effective. Meals are not as healthy as I would like in order to continue to use the service. It leans on the expensive side as I figure it costs around $10-12 dollars per person a meal. However, it made me become more cognizant of portion sizes which is a plus. Taste is not bad but I find most recipes to be too sweet for my taste, making it seem a little to fast food tasting. Over all I would recommend this to somebody who may feel that they are stuck in a rout as to there regularly dishes.
I’m not exactly sure what you mean by add on, just little extras you can add onto your order?
I spend $125 on Groceries a Week, I wonder if this is worth it
Is so worth it I love it I started 2 weeks ago and I really like it and enjoy learning to cook 👨🍳
Great to hear!
Is this good for Weight loss? I'm looking for something that would be certain amount of calories per meal so easy to track
It's an okay option but not necessarily the best. Feel free to check out our favorites here - foodboxhq.com/blog/weight-loss-meal-delivery-services/
Girl you remind me of Anna Kendrick! Lol looks, mannerisms, have you ever gotten that before? 😂❤
Thank you! No I haven’t 😂
can these meals be split up for one? it does look tasty
They can! You'll just have 2 servings worth of food. But for some people that is just the right amount of food. Here's a list of meal delivery services for singles though - foodboxhq.com/blog/best-meal-delivery-services-for-one-person/
@@FoodBoxHQ thank you for response and link
What is one of the best price prepared males? or just heat and eat
One of the least expensive pre-made meal delivery services is Fresh n Lean (pre-made and fresh). Mosaic Foods is another great pre-made option -- they're frozen meals. Still really good though. We have reviews of both here on our channel as well as over on our website at foodboxhq.com.
@@FoodBoxHQ wow $10 a meal i might be too cheap for this stuff LOL
I think, for delivering healthy food, they have a good job. of course the recipe isnt very healthy because they want to get customer, but it is healthy enough if we compare it to most american food franchise
Do yall service zip code 70749 ,jarreau LA USA
Anyone know how to find out if they service my area. THANKS GUYS
Does the butter / oil / seasoning come with the box?
They assume you have butter and oil. The seasonings are from hello fresh, which have been really delicious. We actually put a link to how to make all them at home in our blog review (in description).
@@FoodBoxHQ thank you. I figured as much, but wanted to be sure.
How much is the actual cost..its not showing me a price i have to make a whole profile adding meals to pay
Are their ingredients organic/pasture raised??
✓ A fun cooking experience that makes you feel unstoppable
Prices are ok for ready meals
How much did that box cost?
So how much it costs overall? And do you need a subscription? If yes, for how long?
Not sure about the subscription just that you can cancel it any time. The food is $8.99 per serving plus $8.99 for shipping. It ships every week so 3 days worth of meals for 2 people would be would roughly be $62.93 a week.
Why don't you go to their website and find out?
Hi Emily, Will you be doing a review for Territory Foods? Thanks
Will definitely check them out! Thanks!
I subscribed for the dimples
I noticed that you used olive oil. Is that included or do you have to buy your own? You seemed to have used your own salt and pepper. Is that not included in with the seasoning packets?
That’s not included
They usually don’t send you common items you’re likely to have like salt, pepper, olive oil. That olive oil is ours.
Nice review! Do you have to try EveryPlate?
Thank you! Yep we have. Here’s that video :) ruclips.net/video/7_B9Z7ZmzxY/видео.html
Are the meats and chicken free of antibiotics?
So do you have to thaw it out for the day before you cook it?
Nope, it all comes fresh. We put it in the fridge.
@Food Box HQ oh woww. Ok thank you. I may try It out. Love your video, you put it all together perfectly and the food looked great !
so is the box monthy? I read recipes per week so am i playing 75$ for that week?
Excellent food very easy to make
Me clicks on this vid and gets a hello fresh ad lol
Lol! Really??
Food Box HQ yea
First week using it. Very nice.
So how does it work ? I got 6 meals for 2 people but I really got it for me and it says 12 servings so it's just one meal for 1 day ?
I signed up for 2 different meal kits and got half off deal or more on both. Would I do this every week or 2 no, it'll be crazy expensive and I like to grocery shop so the option to skip weeks is nice until again I come a week with another good deal and equally delicious recipes yes ! Worth it
Check out Dinnerly or EveryPlate. Both are very inexpensive (around $5 per meal).
Hope that helps :).
would you recommend these meals for someone trying to lose weight?
HelloFresh wouldn't be my #1 pick for a weight loss meal delivery service but they do have a good "fit & wholesome" plan with lower calorie/carb options. Here are all of our favorites: foodboxhq.com/blog/weight-loss-meal-delivery-services/
