    Ma'am here you have mentioned about the pKa of the groups??? The charge of the ionizable groups depends on on whether the pH is than pKa isn't it???

    Trick is good, however, it will not work in all cases. You need to consider Pk(R) values for sure

      Take it easy
      To calculate this kind of questions,we have to consider pk1,pk2,pkR value
      The pk1 value of Alpha COOH of Cysteine is 1.96 which is lower than pH 3.5
      So it will be deprotonated
      For further information
      Watch "Vedemy Charge and pI calculation"
      Or open Lehninger Chapter 3 Q 13(edition 8th)
