Why is the carboxyl group on the side chain already deprotonized at the beginning of the structure? thought it was going to be COOH before we start the whole process?
In this case, because the PKA1 is below the optimal pH of around 7 the carboxyl group will already be deprotonated and therefore does not have the H attached.
