Hey just a heads up..the ear cushions are removable..steel series actually has a video on their channel on how to remove and put back..should be seeing some third party cushions pop up soon.
Thanks Andrew
They’re pretty much universal. I went through a lot of cushions on the Pro because its cups are way too thin.
This is the VS I was looking for thanks for this content.
Thanks Benjamin, glad you found it useful. Hope you enjoyed enough to subscribe
So I found that the earpads are actually removable although it requires quite a bit of force (almost feels like you’re breaking them) and you have to start from the bottom up. They snap right in the same way Was looking for a reset button since I thought I had broken them since I was hearing no sound for a bit (false alarm)
I still have my Siberia 800s/ The plastic started breaking and becoming brittle at the swivel part of the headphones, but with a little bit of super glue and baking soda, they are good as new.
Do you feel that the Nova pro is not as clear as the Arctis Pros? Am i doing something wrong as my Nova sounds more bass and low compared to my Arctis Pro's sound more crisp and clear. Is there a setting to fix this?
I got really good deal on Pro wireless, got them for 80€ delivered, Very happy with the purchase, just the ability alone to be connected to phone pc and ps5 at the same time is life changing, i can play ps5 while watching video on one of my pc monitors and then be connected to the phone in the same time, i never knew im gonna need it till i got it.
im so hyped my nova pro is coming monday
Which is better in terms of music listening quality the arctis 7+ (wireless) or thr arctis 7 nova (wireless)?
I hope sonar comes to consoles someday without any missing features.
If you have the Arctis pro wireless and don’t have any issues then it’s not worth the upgrade. The soundstage and imaging is good and slightly better on novas but not a noticeable difference. Arctis pro wireless can also use the sonar engine and take advantage of EQ custom settings as the nova pros. Unless the you’re in need of it then for sure go for the nova pro wireless or Maxwell
The .axwell they say are not comfy. And what about ANC and ps5 3d audio you dont mention?
@@poeleloele ANC is not the best on nova pro, it won’t make a difference in sound quality. Maxwell are heavy, haven’t had any comfort issues. As far as ps5 I don’t play console so I can’t give my opinion on it. I mostly play on pc. I’m sure you can find more reviews speaking about console sound performance
The Nova Pro Wireless says it works with with Sonar on the website.
Thx! U prob just saved me about $500 cdn😃
Been rocking Arctis pro wireless almost 4 yrs now. The nova pros recently caught my attention..but if the tech isnt much better i may just hang onto em until i actually need a new pair.
Super happy w them so far
why can’t they combine both? i want usb c charging with the arctic design but also being able to push the mic in
The lack of a port for an optical cable is disappointing. I have my TV output connected through optical so that when not using it with anything else like PC or PS5, it just catches the audio of whatever is on the TV. Was strongly considering upgrade but now going to have to maybe rethink it.
Not sure if you ever compared optical vs usb or any other connection but there is always a quality loss. Optical is kind of outdated now.
@@HopeLiveDie sure, but it's nice to have as an option. The rest of the devices I used with it were USB, the optical connection was just a fallback for things I couldn't connect in that way. I guess I'd prefer lower quality sound (that still sounds good) over no sound at all, from those devices.
Just use an aux and do the same thing
@@DustyOldMechanic nah the aux on both my Novas and my Artcis Pro Wireless before that sounds very bad. Not just lower quality but lots of buzzing and crackling. Maybe it's faulty hardware, but I'm inclined to think it's not since it's 2 out of 2.
@@SuperSamGalaxy try turning one of your volumes down…. I had the same issue when running audio out of my monitor into the Dac and then out of the dac into my Elgato… just mess with your volumes
Nice video, the mic is compatible both consoles? Xbox and ps5? Or its necessary buy a correct version witch one
The Xbox version is compatible with everything, including PS4 and 5, the PlayStation version is compatible with everything but Xbox. So just get the Xbox version.
Can you connect the Nova Pro to two computers, let's say a Macbook and a Windows PC, and switch them using the base station? And extending my question, is it able to do that dual connectivity to connect both of them at once? My use case is basically Macbook for meetings only, and windows for media
Yes you could connect to two things but no, you'd have to change usb sources. You could, however, connect to one device with USB and the other with Bluetooth and do it that way
@@TheProvokedPrawn By having, let's say, the PC over USB, and MacBook over Bluetooth, is it able to play audio simultaneously? And if I get a call on the Mac, will it take priority?
@@Volgin. yes u can even do that the volume of the pc goess down when there is sound on bluetooth
@@TheProvokedPrawn with the Arctis Pro Wireless you could do this if you use the same video source for both - have the TV/monitor's audio output feed into the DAC via optical cable, and then whatever is currently on the screen is what you will hear. Sadly this port is missing from the DAC on the Nova.
SteelSeries Arctis 9 has a feature where when you turn off your headphones it will automatically route the audio to your speakers, if they are connected to the same dongle as the headphones. Does anyone know if either of the ones mentioned in the video has such a feature? And is there any difference between Arctis Pro and Arctis Nova Pro in terms of sound quality for listening to music?
Just got Arctis Pro (the older one), yes it does have it, in case anyone else would be looking for the answer
I just bought the SteelSeries Arctis pro wireless for PS5 gaming. I got them for $199 compared to $314 for Nova Pro wireless. Are the Arctis pros capable of using sonar on the gg app? Also will that download into the transmitter base?
Sonar is designed to work with everything, so yes :)
Where can I get that glass skull? Is it heavy enough for a VR headset?
Should be. It's pretty heavy amzn.to/3dI8N9D
I just don't understand some of the weird/bad design changes they've made to the headset and the game deck
The hinges are fragile. I was hoping that would change but they look even less forgiving now holding both in my hand having broken the older.
ANC won’t filter out people talking? That’s the only reason I want noise canceling is so I can actually get work done without hearing my kids, etc, in the other room.
It does make a difference to that but not if there's someone in the same room talking a lot.
Have you found anything else that’s good, I need it for the same reasons
I have arctic 7 wireless is this worth the upgrade I've seen a few of your videos and legit made purchases because of them namely the areox 5 wireless
Much better imo
How did you power your Shure SM7B? AUX from transmitter to your interface or desktop? I have a interface, Shure sm7b and the transmitter.
It's usually connected via Rodecaster Pro 2 and then the headphone jack on that goes to the SteelSeries base station line in
Bought the Audeze Penrose last week, it has SO many issues. Going to return it and grab this one instead.
Just following up to say, I got them replaced and these headphones are way better in every way to the audeze Penrose
Are they good for ps5 was thinking to buy audeze but it seems to have a lot problems
@@jasminahmetovic140 Don't get Penrose, trust. I use PC but I think the arctis works the same on console
@@InfectedNobody damn i have arctis pro but not the novas but need new headset seems like nova pro is the choice thanks bro
I am incredibly desperate to get the accessory set you have for the pro wireless version. Did you get from steel series? I’ve been looking for years!
Yeah from SteelSeries direct
Im not sold on the plastic band and leather ear muffs but they do look really nice. Perhaps ill save me 300 and stick with the 7 pros
I'd totally want to go wireless once and for all, but I'm very sensible to audio lag.. Should I go with the wired version or are these wireless ones actually lag-free ?
If so which one of the two (Arctis Pro vs Artcis Nova Pro) is the most lag-free ?
so i do not have the steel series wireless headphones but i do have the razer baracuda x headphones which are also wireless and i am also very sensitive to audio lag and i experience no perceviveable audio lag, the steelseries are a very expensive headset even more than i paid for mine. im 99% sure your not gonna be able to tell any audio lag what so ever and im planning on getting the nova pro's once i have the money. my recomendation 100% go wireless its so worth it! and you feel so free without the cable! i can walk across my house with the headphones on with no audio delay or any issues what so ever.
I have a Pro wireless and I haven't experienced any lag at all when connecting through the base station. However, if I use the BT connection sometimes I notice some lag.
I’m in dilemma of choosing Nova 7P vs Arctics 7P+ because of the look. The 7P+ looks more like a new model and more premium compared to the Nova….
@@twodot9924 Bought Nova 7P for GoW Ragnarok and Returner... The 3D sounds is CRAZY. That is some level of 3D sounds I have ever experienced...
@@twodot9924
Apologise for my bad English.
The 3D sound and bass are no jokes, especially when you play Ragnarok and Returnal, you embrace the environment completely, the sound is literally "comes" from everywhere with obvious directions. I have compared it to my complete set of 7.1.2 Dolby Atmos surround sound system, also tried with movies, and the soundbar is pure garbage.
But the comfortability is THE WORST thing for people like me who has long hair with glasses. 80% of time are not comfortable for me after 2 hours playing games... The comfortability are exaggerated by many reviewers on pairing with glasses, I bet they tried it with only 10 seconds with glasses purposely put on.
SO, what keeps me continue to use it is: I have spent so much money on it, secondly is because of the superb 3D sounds, and third no sound pollution to my family.
Do the Novas hiss like the pros? You hear this when nothing is playing on the non bluetooth 2ghz channel.
I never had that problem with the Arctis Pro but I also don't have that issue with the Nova Pros either.
Has anyone’s power button the novas seem to have a little wiggle room?
So Your Telling Me You Cant Listen TO both pc And ps5 at the same time? Because the arctis pros can
I can buy a brand new pair of the arctis pro wireless for 180 and its tempting but for that price is it worth it over the nova pros or not? personally im not bothered if the novas are better but its a big price difference i have found
The older model is really good especially for 180
@@blooddragon_2441 so for that price worth getting rather than spending double that to get the new one
The nova sounds a lot more that it is worth the price.
I have to say the Arctis pro wasn't worth the price, i had a tuurtlebeach elite 800 back in the days, for ps, that offered more.
Is the Nova connection stable?
With the arctis pro i had disconnects from time to time, then needed to tuurn it of by holding, felt like 5 seconds, then wait some till i could turn it back on. Or it just said "disconnected" and some seconds later it connected again.
Also they said it has Background noise limiting (microphone), but in the end it hadn't (misleading advertisement), without the discord options it was a disaster (noticed it in Teamspeak).
The software options, before/without sonar, are terrible for the age we are in.
After a short time the Batteries get losened contact.
I loved the system overall it is a good design, souund etc., but as a perfectionist it was lacking too muuch for the price.
Ps. I am too tired to remove all the douuble letters, caused by my Razer Blackwidow V3 Pro 🤣practically new, heard it is a common problem
Really sucks when typing in youur PIN for the 5th time xD
Sound wise which was better for you for games or for entertainment?
Arctis pro is better
so, which is better for tarkov or other fps? (talking about footsteps)
Arctis pro
What is the best headset for hearing foot steps on a console headset? I’m currently testing the nova pro wireless and the P38x wired from Sennheiser. The p38x might be better in footsteps but it’s tough to tell. If you have any recommendations on this I would appreciate it.
Use steelseries sonar
Samson sr850 with a fiio e10k tc..much cheaper than this lol
My only issue with Steelseries is the build quality. I have an Arctis Pro Wireless and the plastic part of the left speaker got cracked in less than a year of usage. The Nova Pro wireless build quality looks the same, which is one of the reasons I might avoid it.
Happened to me twice in 2 years time. Heard the Nova is made out of steel instead of plastic tho. Idk if it's true but looks alot more solid
i had mine for 2 years now and everything still is as nicely as it was back then when i bought the wireless pro original one
Take care of them better then, I’ve had mine 3 years and nothing has needed replaced.
@@thepokesimps I took very good care of mine, Was very careful putting it on and taking it off every day since the first one had broken. When i was using it i was never too energetic to use it to a point where it moved a lot. Still it just broke out of nowhere because of it's flimsy plastic build. That's why I want the nova because it's generally better and has a better build quality
Might need to take better care of it than you did.
im not rich person but i try to buy this headset.. idk why the sound in music same like my g pro x wired. i dont have problem with anc thing tho so my ears is so comfort using this headset
how do you split the screen and play the game on fullscreen on the right side? I have a Samsung 49" and looking to do that.
Two display port cables and picture by picture mode
@@TheProvokedPrawnbut that limits the refresh rate
Where did you buy the skeleton headset stand from?
amzn.to/3YfTwxY
arctis pro 5 year old headset. Do you think I should buy it or should I prefer hs80 max?
I'd go for the Arctic Pro still if you can't afford the Novas
Actually, I didn't like the look of the Novas at all and the price difference was too much.
then we pick arctis pro. Ty so much@@TheProvokedPrawn
The Arctis Pro Wireless is better in many ways. Better button layout and it's much easier to remove the battery from the headset WHILE wearing it. With the Nova Pro, it's more difficult and putting the covers back on is way more cumbersome due to the circular shape not giving you much clue of how to put the covers back on. I personally prefer the head band system on the Arctis Pro Wireless over the Nova Pro. Another thing I have a huge gripe about is pulling out the mic on the Nova Pro. When fully detracted, it is pretty difficult to get a grip on the mic to pull it out. This could've been remedied by putting gripier bumps or a little notch to allow you go get a better hold of the mic head when you pull it out. Now, the quality of the sound from the Nova Pros is better, but only by a little bit. I do think if you already have the Arctis Pro Wireless, there's no need to upgrade to the Nova Pro.
In short, the quality of sound is pretty much the same, but some of the design choices of the Nova Pro are worse than the Pro Wireless. If I could have only one of these headsets, I'd easily just stick with the Arctis Pro Wireless.
I don't get the design change. You can recognize any of the Arctis headset at a glance, they felt unique. With the new design, you will have to look for the logo. Why did they have to make them so different?
Given that they have added ANC and have made the microphone more "stealthy" when tucked away, my guess would be that they are trying to market it as a "do it all" headset that you could use on the go as well as whilst gaming.
It would make the very high price point more tolerable if people were to buy the headset for both gaming and everyday/commuting use.
They aren’t made to stick out like a gaming headset with bright colors and rgb stuff it’s a minimalist headset with great features and looks really nice.
I have Arctis Pro Wireless and the plastic on both left and right near the joint are cracked, I wanted to upgrade to Nova Pro Wireless but the fact that I couldn't change the earcup turns me off. Any recommendation for 100% uptime headset similar to both of this? And how good is the inbuild Nova Pro Wireless earcup?
You actually can change the earcups. Look at the pinned comment.
yeah its pretty bad to have the review say you cant remove them, I also reconsidered buying them til reading these comments. Crazy claim to make and just leave in
So the Microphone is good but STILL sounds like any other bluetooth headset that is capped by the bluetooth connection. Even Beyerdynamic couldn't do it.
The only company to get it right was Astro with its 2 Bluetooth receivers - but terrible Battery Life and overall not a good build headset.
I dont see the need to upgrade from a arctis wireless pro.
Thank you
You're welcome
oh not removable earcups is a dealbreaker for me wen buying something to use for the long term
ruclips.net/video/VmY_DobX-Ig/видео.html
the SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless is way better for audio snobs and longetivity nerds like me to be honest
I have arctis pro wireless, i don’t know if Nova better than it or i keep my old one?!
just keep the arctis pro wireless. Unless you want to spend ~$400 on noise cancelling and not having to press the power button after changing the batteries. I think the arctis pro wireless will do just fine, it's still a great headset
