I bought one of these yesterday. Coming from someone who has and is now selling a Gen 4 Astro A50, keeping - Astro A40's, RAZER Nari Ultimate's and an Audeze LCD-GX. These are my favourite go to gaming headset. Pure quality. After a firmware update they work perfectly with PS5 (as in you can also set them to PS5 like you would PC/PS4). Also I have a big head and whilst nothing beats the comfort of A50's these are absolutely fine.
Is the sound quality better then the A50’s? I’m curious because I have gen 3 A50’sz. I’m just looking for a bit of an upgrade since my A50’s are pretty old. Also dose your PS5 charge the batteries in rest mode?

I’ve owned the older model Siberia 800 for almost 7 years before they started to echo in game. Well worth about 10 cents a day for a great headset that you never have to look for batteries.

you cant, the amp in the headset is pure trash, steelseries says that its because of the hifi drivers lmfao, not one single reviewer mentions this, all fake bought reviews
Not a lot of people get the white noise from the headset so definitely not fake reviews.
my white noise goes away about 20 seconds after listening to music/games and if you go into the headphone properties and disable all enhancements it's even lower at start and goes away faster
Warning: the joints connecting to the earcups are not strong. They both break easily from a 2-foot fall and after 1.5-2 years of regular use; the plastic around where the joint connects will develop a stress crack over time, resulting in the joint cracking it further due to leverage against the plastic, breaking the joint out and ruining the headset.
I can confirm that, I just got a new one for free, but the headset hurts on the head aswell in my opinion. The sounds in the headset is good, but I don't feel it fits great on my head, it can actually be quite annoying to have on.

can confirm mine broke after 2 years 1 months with regular use, but no falls or disabuse.
edit: I did find them comfortable and functionned great even when used with VR headset.
I bought mine at converted about $160 while the marked price is $340. With the build quality and only 2 years warrenty, It is not worth it unless you have to much money laying around

@@TrueXiarno Sorry for the late reply, did not see this before. But unfortuneatly I do not have any other recommondation. I have not tested a lot of headsets. SInce we have very good consumer laws in Norway I got a new set from the retailer as it was a known fault and a design flaw, I could get a new one or money back outside of warranty. Since I bought them at a good rebate I decided to just get a new one. If I had not bought these I might have gone for the Astro A40 or A50 if they were on a sale.
Anybody experience white (background) noise with the headset? I have sidetone off, adjusting volume, or turn on/off and I still hear that ambient white noise. I need help!
I changed the cups out with some Siberia 800 fake leather cups so I don't get the noise of my whiskers when I move and also stretched the metal headband so they're not so tight and removed the headband cushion for my large head.
Now they are perfect :)

I do to its pretty frustrating. I don’t know what to do but i reached out to steelseries because i bought directly from them. If I don’t find a solution I will return....my old steelseries that are wired does not have this bullshit issue.

Only if your on a ps4 or a pc not sure about Xbox.The chat mix on the dac doesn’t work on ps5 cause there’s no optical input/output on the console. There is a chat mix in the party menu and under the sound tab on ps5.

Works perfect on ps4/ps5 but on pc I have to keep updating the drivers almost every time the computer goes into standby for the mic part of the headset to work. other than that issue works fine on there too

Looking into these. Have steel series 7. They are perfect...except the wire is all tangled and i have extremely long hair and it grabs it and I have to pull my hair out.

Most important overlooked thing; how is the Bass on these?
For me personally the most immersive gaming experience I’ve ever experienced sound wise, is with a legendary pair of headphones where the headphones themselves have a separate vibration-pulse transducer unit built into the headset in addition to the speakers. The result is feeling the game as well as hearing it; I could feel the chopping of the Heli blades for the Attack Heli in Battlefield 3 and the firing of a Tank turret… omg. It reverberates the sound as it shakes your head, like having a small butt-kicker strapped to your headphones (there’s nothing like it)
Unless mistaken, no other headphones to date have been able to capture this; it’s the most overlooked thing. The headphones are the old Sony Pulse that where used for PS3 but sound amazing for PC gaming. I have been unable to use anything else since.
Trouble is I’m on my 3rd pair and they don’t make them anymore, so will eventually have to look for something close sound-wise.

Question about these. When I use Bluetooth on these the audio from in game goes into the right earcup and the Bluetooth audio from my phone is in both ears. I haven’t found a way around this. Is mine defective?

I have the Astro A50 today, but after several years use they are quite bad in terms of batterylife. Thinking about switching to Steelseries due to already having a Steelseries keyboard, in other words getting both in the steelseries app. Is this a valid replacement for the A50s?
They are great, but be wary of Steelseries themselves, they are quite scummy with their sub-par customer service. They often leave you hanging when you open a ticket asking for help. Just don't buy directly from steelseries and you'll be fine

Literally NOONE talks about the whitenoise ( hiss) while the headphones are on idle ( not playing any sound) it is super bad compared to previous models M840 and H1.

I currently have MAJOR issues with my Astro A50s where they interfere with my router's frequency channels. Does that issue exist with this headset? And is there a way to change the headset's frequencies/channels? Xfinity has made it impossible to change their router's frequency channels.

There's a DC input but never a mention of a power supply with with the transmitter.
Does it come with a DC power plug or is it powered by the USB and the DC is just a added extra if you do not want the USB connected?
Sorry nobody ever responded to you. This headset comes with 2 batteries, one that will be in the headset, and one battery that can charge while using the other battery in the headset. Where does the battery charge? There's a built in charging port (you slide it into the base).
So is the wired and wireless different? Or is one just wired and the other isn’t, I’ve always wanted one....

Aside from the headband is the rest of the headset plastic? Or metal?
Had mine for around 18 months, but they have now broken around the earcup where it connects, it has cracked and the earcup has pulled off and is hanging by the wire and wire is also about to snap off, apparently the plastic isn't great and is a common problem apparently otherwise was one of the best headsets i ever owned.
Can you replace the earccups or not + is the cable broken easily or. Should I buy it or something else maybe

I got these for half a year now and they're absolutely great.
However, when using the party chat (in CoD Warzone in this case) I can't get my mic to work without hearing myself and the smallest sounds I make like touching the controller's buttons through the digital hearthrough of the headset. However, I also use these for work but there I actually CAN talk without hearing myself when making digital calls through the Cisco Communicator app in my case. So if it works on the laptop with Bluetooth, it should also work on PS4 Pro, no? I went through the settings of the SteelSeries unit, the PS4 Pro and the ingame audio settings but couldn't find anything on this! When gaming without a party, I just mute the mic and then of course I don't hear myself. Anyone with the same problem found a solution to this? Thank you in advance.

Is audio balance adjustable? On Nova Pro Wireless audio balance can't be adjusted at least it wasn't when I tried my friends headphones
My only complaint for me, would be the plastic hinges, the monitors are attaches to. Mine broke on the wired edition, nonetheless I am upgrading to the wireless due to convenience and quality(except the hinges).

As far as I've read they do work with the PS5. As with anything just make sure the console is updated and everything should be good to go.

It 100% does NOT work with Xbox you have to buy the artic 9x series for Xbox hookup.
@@devonm5037 It doesn't work wirelessly with Xbox Series X which is incredible for the 280 euros I paid for it. But it does work when hooking up the headset from MicroUSB to the 3.5 mm jack of the controller. The audio is not nearly as good though if I compare to PS4 Pro where the Arctis Pro Wireless actually shows its full potential. Disappointed that I figured out I now need the Arctis 9X for the Xbox Series X to go full wireless (I cannot stand the cable from the controller to the headset, I just can't). Insane tech world grabbing in our pockets.

As far as I'm concern, based on other reviews, the audio and mic are pretty much the same... the only thing about the arctis 9x is you need to go to the steelseries website if you want to make some modifications to the headset; set up the equalizer of the audio and mic, if you want to make some changes to the presets. I don't if the pro wireless comes with the audio all set up perfectly for you. Also the 9x doesn't come with a base.

As someone who just had the astro a50 gen 4 geadset these are actually worth the price you pay. Wouldn't pay more $150 for an astro a50 headset I was that unimpressed and owned the razor navi and hyperx cloud flight. The flight being the best bang for your buck wireless headsets imo but maybe upgrade the pads to pro audiophile pads for comfort.

Is there a fix to the volume scroll wheel on the headset. Cuz I accidentally keep moving it when I'm e.g moving my head a bit or if i am taking them off when i e.g have to go to the bathroom or to dinner. It's really annoying getting ear raped sometimes, and it happens quite often so it's a little annoying, so if i could somehow freeze the scroll wheel or disable it

After researching what im looking for i stil cant quite understand if its possible. Would like to know if having the DAC connected to my pc through usb and play pc games as normal i can also connect an optical cable from the DAC to my Smart tv and listen to movies using the bluetooth option. If so what would be the DAC port to use, the Optical In or Out. I dont think i can simply try to pair the Bluetooth to my tv having the DAC connected to my Pc only.
