Given Jimmy's grit, gravel and range he is not just a rock star but one of the most versatile singers ever. And if you just check out some of the superstars he has sung with along the way....you know that the music industry also knows it. Rock Star, Soul Singer all wrapped up in a big old Jimmy Barnes package.
It always amazes me how well Jimmy harmonises with other singers. Given his unique & powerful voice you'd think it'd be hard to blend with others but he does it every time. Such a special talent.
Thanks for the awesome reaction. This is just the perfect song like you said from the structure, lyrics, Jimmys deadly vocals, the dudes doing their things making the instruments dance.
Jimmy is like fine wine, just gets better with age. He is a master of his craft just like Joe. When two greats combine you get magic. Absolutely love this, one of Jimmy's best.
Hi from Adelaide, South Australia. (In the middle, down the bottom haha) Jimmys hometown (where he grew up, born in Scotland) and hometown of Cold Chisel amongst others.. and thats his son Jackie playing drums..
To add to CLMAC information. Don Walker said Stone Cold was written very quickly. Most of it was written while driving home after dropping his daughter off at school. He didn’t write it for Jimmy Barnes, but half way through, he realised it was perfect for Jim in every way. Jimmy said ”When Ian Moss played it on the guitar in the studio, it was all so Chisel-esque, it made the hair stand up on the back of our necks when we played it back. You tend to forget how great a song writer Don Walker is until you sing his songs.”
You need to check out Jimmy in his wild younger days with Cold Chisel. 'Wild Thing' from the Last Stand tour, he's so drunk he can hardly stand but his vocals are still totally on point.
This was one of my fav JB songs when it first came out years ago, then when he redid this with Joe, it just blew my mind. He did a whole bunch of stuff, much of it his older music and just made it better and better. JBs music has been in some American movies, like Lost Boys but no, not generally known or there. Missed opportunity, America lol
That's awesome, This band is just that good! And hey I guess the saying "Great Minds" fits as well! Cheers Ray! 🙂🙂 Paste the link to your reaction! Id love to watch it !!!!
I have watched a lot of your reactions and it impresses me immensely how you always get the same expressions on your face for every barnesy song u do, but the same facial expressions don’t make a appearance with a lot of the other artists you cover!!. Is jimmy your most favoured artist you have discovered atm is he?👏👏
Well if you cover cold chisel “wild thing” next I am sure he will be elevated up to your top 3🤣🤣, but if u do react to it make sure u choose the version from the “last stand” video in 1983- not the version from 1982 in germany👍🏻
Well, this was not on my birthday today, but just discovered it in my suggestions, and as it's another song I love 100% it's a good follow up for my birthday reactions program... whoooaaahh, yeah... play that guitar man, sing it, Jimmy! I think this will be the climax and end of my video program for now, can't get any better... will go out to my garden in the fields, have a swim in my lake and enjoy the beautiful indian summer wheather... Have a vibe, thanks for your great enthusiastic reactions, you sure know some good music when you hear it :)
Used to be a pub rock band in the beginigs he was a legend he used to skull a bottle of beam and smash out about 3 hours of not stop rock. You know why because none of your American suits wanted that music over there in America they only wanted american bands thats why you guys hardley ever even heard of these great aussie icon bands. John farnham is another aussie icon john and jimmy are good mates and have made appearences at each others concerts over the years doing duets together. Like when the war is over just really great genuine nice guys to in person . Good review bro.👍🙂🦘🇭🇲
I gave this reaction a thumbs up even before pressin the play button and watching it I knew it would be great Oh BTW that is Jackie Barnes on drums Jimmy's son
Such a perfect marriage of guitar and vocals. Jimmy’s son Jackie Barnes on drums. I wish these two had recorded a lot more. I think they did about 4 together. Joe also recorded with Mahalia, Jimmy’s daughter. Hey when we doing another Aussie pub rock night??
That's jimmy's son Jackie on the drums. This is a Cold Chisel song from the 70's. If you haven't yet, check out this pairing on "Lazy," cover of Deep Purple.
Check out “when the war is over”done from many locations during the lockdowns. Jimmy and family put out songs nearly everyday of all different styles of music. They kept a lot of people going through hard times. Love ur work shakes💕🇦🇺
React to chisels cover of Wild Thing from the Last Stand concerts. Jimmy seriously drunk fighting with someone in the crowd still kills the song. Drags Ian Moss onto the floor of the stage and Ian doesn’t miss a note on the guitar. Raw. Brilliant
This song was written by Don Walker on his way home in the car after dropping his Daughter to School. Post Chisel, he realised after writing that it would be perfect for Jimmy.
Jimmy singing his heart out and joe singing on the guitar doesn’t get much better. Easily in my top 5 songs of all time.
I got goosebumps so many times ..Holy Jesus !!!!💥💥💥💥💥💥
Given Jimmy's grit, gravel and range he is not just a rock star but one of the most versatile singers ever. He really is the full package,
Mind blowing good!
That cover of Chandelier... youre bang on!
It always amazes me how well Jimmy harmonises with other singers. Given his unique & powerful voice you'd think it'd be hard to blend with others but he does it every time. Such a special talent.
One of the best vocalists of all time with one of the greatest guitar players can’t get better then that champ
This song is unbelievable
I felt stone cold listening to Jimmy & Joe 🎸🤩
I seem to forget to breathe when listening to Jimmy ❤️❤️❤️
I've listened to this a hundred times. Each and every time I feel like I've been taken to heaven.
Such a great pairing of a couple of legends doing what they do best.
Thanks for the awesome reaction. This is just the perfect song like you said from the structure, lyrics, Jimmys deadly vocals, the dudes doing their things making the instruments dance.
Top to bottom a hit.
Thank you for introducing me to such amazing music brother!
Jimmy is like fine wine, just gets better with age. He is a master of his craft just like Joe. When two greats combine you get magic. Absolutely love this, one of Jimmy's best.
This is the best reaction I have seen so far! There was one part where you were totally speechless!
P.S You got a sub in me, Jimmy Barnes is one of the best :) Glad to have grown up listening to Jimmy!
Growing up, Stone Cold was one of my favourites. This version is amazing!! my new fave for sure!
Hi from Adelaide, South Australia. (In the middle, down the bottom haha)

Yep...just wow!
Love seeing the little salute from Jimmy in the booth behind at the end of Joe's solo!
It's so unreal that your reaction was EXACTLY the same as mine. I was utterly blown away!
That's awesome,
This band is just that good!
And hey I guess the saying "Great Minds" fits as well!

The opening solo was great. Joe's second solo has to rank up there with the best.
It really does thought!!!!

I gave this reaction a thumbs up even before pressin the play button and watching it I knew it would be great
Oh BTW that is Jackie Barnes on drums Jimmy's son

Mahalia sings backup on this too although you don't see her.
Jimmy's just class full stop
Dude youre gonna be baked before the song even finishes😂😂😂😂😂😂
That's jimmy's son Jackie on the drums. This is a Cold Chisel song from the 70's. If you haven't yet, check out this pairing on "Lazy," cover of Deep Purple.
This is not a chisel song , Don Walker wrote it but Jimmy recorded it in early 90’a
You have no idea just how spoiled we are & anyone, like me who saw all these guys in the 1980’s, we know how good it was.
Another great vocal from him is Lay Down Your Guns, featuring The Living End.
Check out “when the war is over”done from many locations during the lockdowns. Jimmy and family put out songs nearly everyday of all different styles of music. They kept a lot of people going through hard times. Love ur work shakes💕🇦🇺
Take a look at cold chisel.. Wild Thing (live). make sure your siting down..
Check out Jimmy and Joe doing a cover of Deep Purples Lazy. It’s phenomenal.
React to chisels cover of Wild Thing from the Last Stand concerts. Jimmy seriously drunk fighting with someone in the crowd still kills the song. Drags Ian Moss onto the floor of the stage and Ian doesn’t miss a note on the guitar. Raw. Brilliant
You should try the Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham singing something's wrong with my baby both great Aussie singers mates for 30 years

This song is a cover from the 60s
This song was written by Don Walker on his way home in the car after dropping his Daughter to School. Post Chisel, he realised after writing that it would be perfect for Jimmy.
