Joe Bonamassa opened for B B King when he was 12 years old. He is one of the best guitarists on the planet and he specializes in blues. I strongly suggest that you check out Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa doing I'd Rather Go Blind. Make sure to get the Live From Amsterdam version. I think that is one of the finest blues recordings ever made. Beth's vocals are amazing and Joe's guitar solo is out of this world.
Jimmy Barnes, John Farnham, anything live you can’t go wrong. Also Aussie Bands Redgum and Midnight Oil. Redgum did a sing about an Aussie Soldiers story about his Vietnam War experience and aftermath. It’s called “I was only 19”
Jimmy Barnes and John Farnham "When something is wrong with my baby " live on "hey hey it's Saturday". Two "Deadset Aussie legends with world-class voices and soul!. I signed-up for this and more Aussie Rock!. You won't be disappointed. 👍
The guitar player is Joe Bonamassa and he was a child prodigy who opened for BB King when he was 12 years old. This is not a remake but written by jimmy Barnes and another of his band members.
I am 60 and have grown up listening to Jimmy - this Australian legend was an insane rocker in his youth with his band Cold Chisel then solo and now in his older age singing like this - he is a legend and this is one of my favorite songs ever - love him - This is Jimmy's song written with another ex Cold Chisel band member - Another song I am sure you would like if you like this is a duo with another Aussie singing legend John Farhnam 'When Something is Wrong with my Baby' - a great song
Hi from Queensland, I've been a Jimmy fan for as long as I can remember, he's my legend. The rest of the world thinks we're a bunch of idiots but there the a lot of brilliant talent.
I second this. When Something is Wrong with my Baby is my all time fave song. With Diesel on guitar. Oh my. Please please PLEASE do a reaction to it if you haven’t already. You’ll be blown away 😊
@@katem58785Hi Kate, I disagree that the world thinks we are idiots. I think we have an inferiority complex. I’m Tasmanian, so I understand that feeling very well! As for Jimmy… TOTAL LEGEND! I remember hearing Cold Chisel on the radio in the 70s.
Scottish born Aussie singer Jimmy wrote the song. We love Jimmy here in Aus, he’s been singing here since a teenager. . Joe on guitar is an American, only discovered him via Jimmy and Jimmy’s daughter Mahalia Barnes who sings whilst Joe plays brilliantly. Oh Jimmy’s son on drums, his whole family sings. . If you play either I’ll listen lol. I’ve just subscribed, I’ll check out what else you listen to 😊👍
@@anthonycorboy5122 yes Don did write it, in collaboration with Jimmy. *Don Walker had been the main songwriter in Cold Chisel, and Barnes had requested his contribution*
@@kdavies3105 yes I saw a video of Don talking about it. He wrote the song while dropping his daughter off at school. Don is as good a song writer as Australia has ever had.
The door has opened to Aussie music now! This guy got his big start as the lead singer of Cold Chisel, you might want to have a listen to their stuff - quite a few hit the airwaves in US back in the day So, so many other performers, including some phenomenal country singers (world famous in Australasia)
I left the link to the very best video of this above. I was going to suggest it & saw your comment! Thank you! I've watched it 100 times & NEVER get tired of it!😊
The guy's got about a dozen albums out, he was in a band called Cold Chisel back in the '70's in Australia. His RUclips video with John Farnham doing the old soul tune "When Something is Wrong With My Baby" is well worth watching. Really old school R+B, love it!
Dude the smile that broke out on your face at 9:07 warmed my heart. That's the same smile I had listening to Jimmy and Cold Chisel when I was 11 in 1980. Subbed.
Loved to see the joy on your face while listening to one of my all-time favourite singers. You should also check out his band, Cold Chisel. Especially the songs "Breakfast at Sweethearts" and "Saturday Night". Jimmy has a new album out, just check his RUclips.
Thank you so much for reacting to my request I'm now subscribed. I only came across these reaction video's during the lockdowns here in Australia total of seven months the latest lockdown here is into it's 8th or 9th straight week. It is thanks to you and a few other reactors that I have made it through I don't think I would have otherwise so Thank you.
We don't get much lockdowns here in West Oz but we understand that you blokes(Eastern States) are doing it tough. Know this ,your efforts are saving lives. Thanks
Wow I feel like I have heard this song too, but just don't recognize it, except that I feel I know it. Weird. That guitar was talking and the singer is amazing. Thanks for doing this song. (I am putting it on my spotify also. I really love this song.)
You may have herd the song before Jimmy originally wrote and released this song back in the 90's as a rock song he then changed it when he released his first Soul album titled Soul Deep. If you like this music I would recommend River Deep Mountain High from Soul Deap album try Jimmy Barns 97 live hey hey it's Saturday.
Someone else recommended the Teskey Brothers from Melbourne, Australia. They are FANTASTIC ! The lead singer, Josh Teskey has an amazing husky, bluesy, soul voice. They have a number of songs on video. The Teskey Brothers have toured in the USA. You will LOVE them.
This is the short version, the longer song has a beautiful and moving organ solo using that Hammond b3 and the Lesley Amp. Not many can use the Lesley to its full potential but in the 60's and 70's lots of bands used the lesley.
Joe "bona...massa" one of many all time greats on the guitar (a bb king prodigy), Jimmy on vocals(aussie goat) ....the STUNNING VOICE......you need to check out LAZY the Deep Purple cover done by Joe and Jimmy.......These old guys smashing it "if you are going to cover this is how you do it" .........
Thank you so much for reacting to Jimmy he is rock n roll royalty in Australia and by the way he really is so love with his wife they have been together since they were only young and are so so in love to this day. The whole family are musical. Have seen some great suggestions of his music and another one you need to check out is called Khe San.
I thought you might like to know a bit about Jimmy he is a Scottish born Australian singer who began as the lead singer of the band Cold Chisel in the 70,s at the age of 17 he then went solo in the early 80,s. He was originally a rocker but in the late 90,s released his first Soul album. He is still going strong at 65.
🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 Aussie rock!! Keep reacting to Aussie music and a whole world will open up for you. Jimmy wrote this for his wife. Check out early Jimmy and his old band, Cold Chisel
Check out Jimmy and Joe's cover of Deep Purple' s "Lazy". More the rock side of things. Either of these two on their own is great but together are awesome. As others have said Jimmy's whole family is very talented. I believe his son is playing drums on this track.
Hey from Australia! Jimmy has got me through a lot! Me and my brother were in an orphanage growing up and when we got older he used to sing Jimmy to me. Jimmy’s music got me through domestic violence as well. You must listen only to him live. Thanks for reacting to him ❤️
If you going to put this Jimmy track on your Spotify then you may as well add some of his other tracks as well 👍 If you like your Rock with a bit if soul and blues, you can't go wrong. Yes Jimmy has a unique voice.
Jimmy is like the best red wine, at 65, he still pumps them out, try Jimmy with his band Cold Chisel, or with his mate, another Aussie icon, John Farnham( who is now 72 and still has his pipes).
