In the myth that this is based on that's the whole point as Jörmungandr is supposed to be so heavy no onecan lift him. Thor also beat a manifestation of old age
ANd this, is how Jotunns are supposed to look like, they are not Giants, although they are slightly taller then humans and gods, they are simply Jotunns.
@@Luka1180 it is said that the Jotuns (giants) was the creatures who created Earth and everything in it. They were the "gods" we mortals were worshipping, until Allfather Odin and his sons came to be, and sent them to a place they belonged, waiting for their revenge on the Norse gods. (Most of this is my speculation, but it's possibly true)

@@eintagsfliege1647 yeah that's kind of the joke when it comes to danish, it sounds like norwegian but you're on the verge of throwing up the whole time.
After watching this movie, It's weird how some words in Danish have pretty similar pronunciations to English. (I know the English language originated in Europe, but still...) Like "Come" Stop" "Little" "Me"... That or it could be just the actors sometimes saying English phases or words just for fun. Like how some Japanese shows & songs occasionally do.
No, they are similar. Come - kom/komme Little - lille/liten see here - se her go there - gå dit the sky - skyene Many of those words originated from Norse not English.
the reason for that is cus both are part of the germanic language family, the English language has it's Origins in the germanic angles and saxons, whom originated in northern germany and Denmark, who conquered England after the fall of Rome, and then further later danish and Norwegian Influence during the viking age
Apparently an english version exists, but I can't find the damn thing anywhere. You can find a few links (one on Bitchute, and another on YT) but the videos are either private or just don't load.
More exactly : "Big enough to wrap himself up around the Earth, biting his own tail and creating tidal waves just by coming out the sea"... So, yes, basically a moving continent by itself.
My danish is not perfect, but here goes nothing. Beginning ÚtgarðarLoki - I'm not always this fair my friend, but i will give you another chance. Lets see if you can lift my Cat from the floor. Þór - You are trying my patience! ÚtgarðarLoki - Come now, old friend. Just try and do it. End Hymir - Stop! ÚtgarðaLoki - It wouldn't have been good to see you get hurt, old friend. Þór - This is just like you! To stop! When i was close to winning! Enough! I've had enough of your games! But i won't leave until one of you have fought me!
I love that Utgard-Loki's tests almost destroy the world multiple times.
I just wanted to see how cats do the whole liquid thing but it's nice to run into this
I'd say it's rather impressive that Thor Odinson can almost lift up a sea serpant that is so large that it can wrap around the entire planet!
True but if you look at the picture on google Earth is still bigger weight more but that's serpent is Big af .
He should’ve jump high also that might help

fun fact, Christopher Lee voices Thor in the english and german versions of this movie
Damn!!
As he does with king Haggard in the last unicorn
MIGHTY THOR
GRIPS THE SNAKE
FIRMLY BY ITS TONGUE

Kenji 1987 yes u are right glad that someone gets it the reason why jotunns are taller because 1 their gods. 2 their god size
Yes Kenji. The translation of Jotun to "giant" is a pretty poor one.
@@collectorduck9061 Just like Yokai being referred to as Demons
Some of them were giants, some of them taller than us, some of them the same height.

Thank you for uploading this! I used it for our Pen and Paper session to showcase a character wrestling with a goat 😂
Ahhh so this is where they got the idea for the cat skin In smite
Thor sounds like my aunt when she's drunk. Danish enunciation is something else!
he barely picked my son up.
Wrong universe pal
Get out of here, Hollywood bullshit!
This why you died early in infinity war 😂
Wassup daddy
I think this is the best version of the Midgard serpent

Danish feels like a mix of german and backwards words to my southern ears lol
Kaito57 Oh my gosh yes, I was like I feel like I should understand this and then kept getting weirder and weirder lol
I actually thought this was a drunk person trying to speak german
German?¿ Really? I could understand Norwegian and Swedish, but we (Danes) have very few phrases and words in common with the german language :)

He would destroy the world if he got all 4 paws up from the ground?
It's open to interpretation. But since the great serpent represents the edges of the world, shifting it around carelessly probably wouldn't end well.
@MC68EC040 hahaha "cat-snakes"....awesome ;)
Thor story line
Watched this as a child. Can't wait to watch it with my kids. Guess they have to be 6 years old to watch it?

Valhalla. A cartoon from 1986

Mig :)
Aye.

Thor should’ve also jump high while lifting that could’ve helped
If you are already struggling to lift something over your head, jumping really isn't on your mind.

Yes! But it's only found on the Danish DVD :/ I have a digital video version with the English dub.

From what I know, he's apparently big enough that he can wrap himself up around earth.

Angelo Cauton pretty fuckin big
The equator is mesured 24,900 miles (40,070 km), that's how big the Migard Serpent is.
