Thank you! 🙏
Thanks for your list! The one I was looking for is the life changing magic of tidying up - Marie Kondo at 4:29
Really enjoy this topic. And thank you for not only giving the general book information, but what you learned from each of them. Adding several to my TBR now. Thank you again!
You’re so welcome! Glad you enjoyed the summary!
Every moment of this is perfection, can't stop watching.
Please never stop making these videos, I can't find nothing like them on the internet ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ we learn so much in such a visual way and you've put in the work for us!!!
Keltie, I love this post - you are simply brilliant, AND as a 53 year old mum of my very own “Keltie” (and me being a one time burnt out perfectionist in my 30s) you just slightly blew your message at the end when you said - “hard work consistently over time”. NO! “good work consistently over time” maybe but not hard. It doesn’t all need to be hard - having a mindset that everything needs to be hard leads to stress, burnout, avoidance of anything easeful, fear of failure. It’s putting internal pressure on oneself. If you Google “having a mindset that everything needs to be hard”, it’s the very definition of a fixed mindset and I don’t think that reflects your own beliefs as you are an exemplar of a growth and learning mindset. Another book to add to your pile is Edward Slingerland’s “Trying not to Try” about the Daoist principle of wu-wei “effortless action” and the “source of all success in life”. The paradox that less striving leads to more success.
The thumbnail made my jaw drop GIRL you are absolutely stunning!!!
First, even your troll audience is growing! 😂 You’ve made it!!! 🎉 Second, I’m picking the rowing back up after stalling after a hard cold that really derailed me and I figure if I say it here, I have to do it! Finally, I wanted to say, I listen to a lot of your videos because I can’t always sit down and watch. Please consider putting them on a podcast platform, no changes needed, just another access point for more people. You are so much what people need as a fitness influencer. A (mostly) calm and rational voice, e.g. a really relatable person. ❤❤❤
Keltie your video could not have been more perfectly timed. You mentioned breaking bad habits by making them unappealing and uneasy, and I have dropped to 1.8% vaping (a stupid habit that I wish I could kick my 21 year old self for starting) and have been that way for a few months. I’m proud of that but over the last few weeks I’ve realized just how much I use it when my hands or mouth are empty so I got some chew toy sensory necklace things and when I went to get another few today I said I’m going to leave this thing in my car and not come back to use it until my mind is absolutely bonkers dead. And when I go to work I’m leaving it at home so I don’t have access to it. I’m making it difficult and it’s unappealing because I spend lots of money on it and it makes my blood pressure high. Which is bad for the running habit that I formed (thanks to you partially)!
How you went about loving winter is similar to how I did too! I grew up in Michigan so we have pretty cold winters and EVERYONE complains about it which caused me to dislike them too. Eventually I stopped listening to them and embraced the winter! I’m not the biggest fan of the cold, but I’m thankful to live in an area that we get snow in the winter! At this point, I’m ready for spring weather though!😉
Really love the book reviews. My background in psych definitely felt echoed in the video. Also just a-lot of nice reminders. I just quit smoking today for the millionth time. Looking forward to real solutions and not just staring at a wall until i cave in. Haha. Your discipline is very inspiring. Take care
That reminds me of why I took a few psych courses in university, such a fascinating field! Thank you for that reminder 🥰
You got this for quitting!! Keep me posted in the comments how it goes!
I love how you said scarcity like scare city - that's a place I sometimes live in!! Keep up the good work Keltie! You are great!
Hahahah i to am a citizen of scare city tooo often
although even if you stop doing the good work - you are still great and have inherent worth!!
You truly are one of my absolute favourites on RUclips and I love you so much ❤😊
Thank you so much zia!! I’m so flattered 🤍
your videos are like a breath of fresh air that keep me motivated and yet remind me to check in on myself. sometimes i play them in the morning even when i’ve already watched it just because i know it’ll help put me in a good mood to set myself up for success for the rest of the day. thank u for being someone who has learned so much about investing in yourself and sharing it with all of us, i hope you have the loveliest day week month and year 💜
I’ve recently found your channel and am loving your content! Obviously not all things apply or are compatible to my life and routine (we’re all different!) but apart from useful advice I get a lot of inspiration and reassurance from your way of talking and being really self aware and honest about whatever you’re explaining/reviewing etc. I look forward to new videos and have found a lot of comfort in watching you so thank you!
my comfort youtuber keltieee! 💞you always teach me something new in a fun way! Moved from Vancouver to New York in the fall so your vids have been reminding me of home. 🥰
Keltie!!!! This video is PERFECTION! I’ve already watched it 4 times, because I was getting so much out of it. Thank you!! This was so insightful.
I know you already do so much to optimize and enjoy your life, but I just randomly realized while watching this video that if you ever wanted to get into voiceover work, I feel like you'd do a great job!
But I love how true you are to yourself, and thanks for teaching us all!
Yesssss! Walking is so beneficial! Loving the walk as medicine, as creativity booster, as sleep hygiene. Love it!
Every Saturday I watch your videos after I get back from my full-day shift while eating dinner and I just want to thank you because I've been going through IT but your videos have been a constant moment of joy which helps me unwind from work
Absolutely loved this video-such a solid lineup of books with so many tips! I got so much value from it that I had to include it in today’s edition of The Wellness Rewind, my weekly wellness newsletter. Our readers are all about optimizing their health & mindset, so this was a perfect fit. Can't wait for them to watch your video!! Keep crushing it!
I love this so much, I think it‘s going to be one of those videos I come back to all the time whenever I need a little reminder of what‘s actually important. 💕
Also I‘m OBSESSED with the clips around 10:38, you look STUNNING!! I mean the outfit? The soft lighting? You‘re glowing! ✨
When I have anxiety I watch your video. No matter the subject it is always a lovely moment. Thanks to exist. ❤
I am so influenced by you, Keltie❤Thank you. With your channel I started me self-care and well-being journey one year ago. Your videos are the source of my motivation. Thank you!
This timing was crazy. When I woke up this morning the first thing I texted my friends was, "Do you have any self help book recommendations?"
You are the main character Meghan heheh
Hi Keltie! I truly appreciate your hard work and consistency, but also how you share your real self and struggles. Thats why I like your work so much that you are motivating but also allowing me to try and not feel the need to be perfect, not having that pressure on me. This month, I’ve especially noticed your dedication, and it makes me so happy every time you upload a new video! Really looking forward to the one focused on women’s health.
One of my favorite self-improvement books is How to Change by Katy Milkman!
I’ve been watching and enjoying your videos for a while now but you’ve really stepped it up this year. Absolutely in love with your last 5 videos.❤
My absolute favorite book is Atomic Habits, I also really like The mountain is you by Brianna Wiest 📚 Thank you for doing this video, so inspiring, as always!! Love you! 💖 As a Swede I also love the way you lift up the good things about Sweden such as fika ✨, sometimes you get so used to what is normal that you don't fully appreciate it.
The quality of video of your channel just keeps getting better 😍😍😍
Welcome to February, Keltie! BTW, my Philippine vacation trip is back this year coming October 14th to November 16th.
Hope you have a great February Ervin!
I'm relieved to see comments from guys that look forward to watching Keltie's videos. I was worried there for a second. 😅
Eeee! Several of your pics are my favorites too, especially Grit and Atomic Habits. Life changing! 😁💕 Thanks for your good energy and honesty - thanks for sharing your experiences!
I loved this video? I read some of those books a long time ago but then burned out from reading self help books. This year I'm reading them again ❤
keltie. your videos have become a highlight of my week. the best part of my saturday 💕
I’m so glad you included an Emily Nagoski book!! She’s one of my biggest inspirations in the psychology field 🥳
I came across Atomic habit's while going about the financial books haha, also the life changing magic of tidying is incredibly ironic that you brought this up as currently i'm gutting through my storage/closets/every small part of my place..... while putting away the holiday decore i realized it's been about 6 years and how things slowly start to build up, would recommend checking out the richest man in babylon and the compound effect if you haven't, they go great together.... side note you and that view at 17:20 😎🥂
Compound effect is always my #1 “business” book I recommend (not that I’m a business person haha, but someone that’s read tooo many business books)! I feel like it’s a summary of every other business book I’ve ever read, great choice on that one by you 👏
My favorite explanation of hygge is coziness for the soul.🥰
So glad to see Deep Work in this video. This book 100% changed the way I work!
I love how many of these books I've read and how many are still on my TBR shelf haha
I found your channel recently and I adore your energy and style of your videos :) You're very fun to watch and I appreciate your approach to all of your challenges.
I LOVE the book 'Burnout' and I am so glad you included it. I learned so much from it. I now read it every January to remind myself. Other books you might like are: 'How to do Nothing' and 'Saving Time' both by Jenny Odell. Thank you for the video!!!
Thank you for sharing your insights!! And thanks to those who have mentioned other books as well. Always happy to explore a good book.
Thank you Keltie for this video, I added a few titles to my kindle as I was watching. I could recommend Fishing for Happiness.
I just started Outlive on Audible and I love it so far. Peter is so pleasant and intelligent.
I’ve been listening to Grit thanks to one of your other videos. I’m really enjoying it.
Did I need more books for my TBR? Definitely not. Am I mad about it? Definitely not. Great vid, Keltie
I always enjoy a good book… might have to add a few to my TBR list!
Hope you enjoy some of them!
I have read the first three and they are also in my top books! The biggest one for me has absolutely been Marie Kondo's life changing magic of tidying up - really changed my relationship with stuff. Other top book is Daring Greatly by Brene Brown, which discusses the importance of vulnerability and how it relates to shame. Would reccomend to everyone! I loved hearing about these books, thank you for this video! Going to add the ones I havent read to my list :) Cheers, Molly
I recommend everyone to find the book titled The Gilded Nexus of Prosperity, it changed my life.
I used some techniques from that book to make money, and I can truly say I'm earning more now
So many great takeaways from this one! Also the detail on the TBR list had me cracking up.
My favorite is 10% happier for sure! I will be reading all of these :)
I’ve listened to most of the books here but have a couple of others to add to my wish list! Burn out is certainly one I need to listen to next, I am feeling that…
Really enjoyed this Keltie, thank you for sharing with us all. I just have to say, your cream coat and red scarf you look absolutely gorgeous! 👌💕xx
Wow, love the book reviews along with the recs. And watching this was heaven. You've quite the stash of b roll! Seeing other people romanticize their lives like this with the simple things really helps me feel not so alone. Every single part of your day can be something special. If you let it be
I am a fan of Sketchbook Skool’s Danny Gregory’s The Creative License: Giving Yourself Permission to Be the Artist You Truly Are. The book serves as a dialogue with Julia Cameron’s The Artists Way. Where Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic is a fruit from the creative tree. It is divided into nine acts:
Drawing: Kickstarting Your Creativity and Learning to See;
Journaling: Making Creativity into a Habit;
Shock: Blasting Your But out of a Rut;
Sensitization: reconnecting with Reality;
Resistance: Winning the fight to go on;
Judgement: From Enemy to Ally
Identity: Who you are and why that’s fine;
Expanding: Broadening your Creativity;
Next; creativity in the real world.
The book is published in reproduced handwritten text. After watching Professor Ellie Anderson’s Overthinking Podcast series on Art and Aesthetics I think it is worth taking the time to treat jumping into this book like a philosophical text. As slow as necessary to assimilate. At the pace that sings to where you are in your creative journey.
Excellent book recommendations! Thank you, Keltie! 😊 Some I had heard of, some I hadn't. But I'll be reading them all regardless. A big hey and hello from me and Beans the pittie mix! 😊
3 dachshunds. Petting them for oxytocin, regular care routine for them for dopamine, walking them for serotonin, playing rough and chasing for endorphins. Dogs are the best health hack~
I love this video and now I'll be adding "burnout" to my list. I am currently reading "Outlive" and it's an incredible book 😊
How is no one talking about this book The Censored Guide to Wealth on Bovolorus is something else
i keep hearing that these "Bovolorus" comments, AND their likes, are spam. can anyone confirm??
@@carlygreen2293yes, they are spam.
@@carlygreen2293 Goated books bro that's what it is
@ lawl
“And Then We Grew Up” by Rachel Friedman. One of my favorite books. Less of a self help book and more self exploratory/discovery. Great for burnt out creatives or those who always wonder about what if they’d taken a different path in life.
For anyone who might want to try I just wanted to say I got lmnt and ag1. Lmnt was surprisingly tasty, especially the chocolate! The only one I really couldn’t stand was watermelon. The AG1 had the taste of a flintstones chewable which made it hard for me to get through. I didn’t notice any big changes in my energy but i definitely was more regular! Shoutout Keltie for the discount
As you mentioned, hard work is important, but as you also mentioned, rest is crucial. I worked hard in my twenties but I got burnt out. Ended up wasting a lot of time unemployed, broke, and angry. I damaged a lot of relationships with that anger and lost a lot of friends. If I had simply worked less, rested more, and did more things I enjoy, I wouldn't have ended up wasting a decade bored, stressed out, and angry beyond all belief. If you're teenager or in your twenties, don't do what I did.
I read Breath By James Nestor and it was amazing. Just breathing through your nose can be so helpful to so many situations. It was fascinating!
Thank you for the recommendations! Great video as usual :)
I haven't watched the whole video yet, but just came to say that your thumbnail picture is gorgeous!
Making eye contact with a dog *actually* causes massive oxytocin spikes in both the person and the dog, especially if it's owner-to-dog eye contact. Petting a dog for your health and wellness is real. ✨
I have read so many self help books and this is a really good list. They can get really repetitive, so if anyone just red these ten they would be very well set up. I think Atomic Habits is my favorite though.
thank you, i love that this helps give me a starting point on different books i could look into. i appreciate it.
Also i was the one who previously asked about providing some initial guidance on the posture/stability workout you do (mentioned in the peter attia video). I know you said that a PT/physiotherapist would be best since our bodies are all different. However, i am unable to afford one atm. Sorry for asking and bothering you again, but do you have any creators, videos, exercises you found helpful to start building the habit. I can then figure out what works for me.
Since you do so much research and you dont come across as extreme with what you adopt for yourself, it feels most comfortable asking you again.
Tbh, would you be willing to create a video about the types of exercises you do say a 10 minute mobility/stability workout. I'm sorry if this an intrusive questions, or wrong in anyway.
PS your hair looks amazing, ive been watching you since that hair video you made about your extensions, so its wonderful to see.
Agh sorry it’s out of your budget! I just went and found a few instagram accounts that have great examples of mobility & strengthening & education! They give lots of examples and provide useful information! Hope these can help of some help ☺️
I do one day want to do a mobility video! But will take quite sometime cause i have to account for so many different people watching. I hope i can make it possible 🥰

@@KeltieOConnor thanks for sharing these links! Always glad to find other voices with helpful insights. (Currently recovering from a crick in my neck; bad posture and weak upper back muscles made it so much more challenging. The right exercises and habits of posture have me on the road to recovery, whew!!
@ Thank you so much Keltie. Lots of love always.
You are absolute Best! ❤
Thank you!!
Loved this Keltie!
Keltie, I finally took your advice! After being with a cat person for 20 years, I finally got a dog! So I can pet a dog everyday!
Hit like at the scarcity mentality point and holding on to Starbucks points. I usually a quiet lurker, but wanted to leave a message and say thank you for just being real and relatable!
So helpful!! Added them all to my audible. That said, your furry jacket and hat at 22:15, where is it from?!
Awesome. I used to read a lot of self help books and it felt like they all sounded the same. So now I just read to enjoy. I mean I am listening to chop wood, carry water.
Couldn’t agree more! At some point reading self help books is fake-work and you’re just productively-procrastinating hahah
@ I am truly grateful to follow someone so real as you. I recently added a Oura ring to track sleep and day time stress. Wow. What an eye opener.
Going to read through these books. I will say that “Good Energy” needs to be considered.
Thanks keltie so many great books, and a few i need to read.
I recommend The House that Joy Built by Holly Ringland, great read for anyone struggling to just let themselves be creative.
😊
are you okay ? you know we're here for you too. Beautiful as always you are . stay safe and well
Interesting video as always Keltie, thanks! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you just thank you
Would love more book content from you! Here's my fav life-changing books:
Come as You Are by Emily Nagoski
Women Who Run with Wolves by Clarissa Pinkola Estes
The Tragedy of Heterosexuality by Jane Ward
All written by phd's in psychology/sociology/gender and sexuality and all critical to my understanding of joy, pleasure, and storytelling as forms of healing and resistance.
Looooove these book reviews!! Love how you made them work for you! Also- that fuzzy coat and hat🤩😍 where are they from?
Great video! I really think I want to read Deep work and grit :)
Love this! I hadn't heard of the Essentialism book, I might pick that one up!
thank you, your videos are gold ❤❤❤
Thank you for doing the research. So, I don't have too ❤😊
What I’m here for 🫡🩵 happy to help!
Grounded by Dr Ruth Allen!…. the mental health benefits of nature, such a great read
The second way you said hygge where you where like its not like this... was actaully pretty close haha! I think the best way to sound danish is sounding a bit bored. But I always gift the hygge book to people when they get depressed in winter - hygge has made me look forward to the dark, cold days in Denmark
you are soo good! LOVE THIS
Love your videos! 💕
I love hearing that! 🩵
Love love love this video!!
Great vid Keltie ❤
Fantastic video! 👏🏾
Fantastic video! So many books you mentioned I cannot wait to read! The books that I loved were the two books by Mark Manson,“The subtle art of not giving a fuck” and “Everything is fucked”…. It just helped me realize the important things to be worrying about and not to be worrying about where to put a lot of my focus I guess and I gotta think of what else because it’s been years since I read them, but do you plan on a reread this week maybebecause I do remember feeling so much better after finishing both
Good energy by Casey means !
Great video! Important question, how do you feel about keeping habits in list or checkboxes? Do you keep such list with all the new habits? I am still in doubt about it, may work for new habits but may also provide a lot of pressure.
Hi Keltie! I hope you see this because you have such a big influence. This book helped my anxiety depression and my anger. Awakening to your life purpose by Eckart Tolle. I hope you like it as much as I do and share it with others if you do! 🖤🖤🖤 thanks for the content and the wonderful video that has also helped
Hi K- “Tiny Habits “ by BJ Fogg! 🙌 LIFE CHANGING! 👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️ ‘ book club’. Thanks.
Hej Keltie! Were you doing CARs at 1:43? I've been thinking of incorporating them into my day but haven't learnt them yet. Thanks 😊
Yay! Selfie book club!
I meant Keltie but it auto corrected to selfie.
Hi Keltie! I just wanted to say i’ve been watching your youtube videos for a while now and i really appreciate all the effort and research you put into them! I’m currently in grade 11 but next year i will have to make a capstone ( a 10 minute presentation about anything i’m passionate about and then present in front of my school) if i want to graduate. I know you have done so many challenges focused on health and wellness and that’s why i love watching your videos! Anyway what i’m getting to is for this capstone i will have to do a lot of scientific research on the subject i end up choosing and i was wondering if you would have any suggestions on what i could make my powerpoint or video ( unsure which one) about? Was there any challenge or video that already has a lot of research behind it?
Hello 🎉 thank you for reviewing the books 📚
Im a huge fanboy🙈 great clothing style, smart AND beautiful😓
