Having a slip means no more lining which means it's less expensive to sew brand new dresses. I am still considering if I should sew the dress straight and then add a peticoat or if I should make this open slip and then add a half slip? I guess the straight dress makes more sense since it utilises less resources, but what do I know, really? This is beautiful, so I'm making one. This slip is so beautiful I could go out on it by itself. Edit: I found a giant skirt at a trift store. Guess now I have fabric.
I love this slip! Ive made a couple of slips made of cotton spandex with a tank top as a base pattern. Its been working so far and it prevents my petticoats from scratching my legs even when I sit.
Thanks, I like it as well 😊. That's pretty smart! I might use that idea to make some slips for my modern dresses so the static-y fabric doesn't stick to my legs lol.
1. you deserve more subs, your filming skill is breathtaking 2. you did amazing, that looks so slay 3. i was wondering if you could give me sizing advice, and i dont know what to do at the bust area where its cut at an angle at the top, do i just sew it there like a bullet shape or? (i got this pattern bc i need a slip for my school musical)
Omg thank you!! About your question, are you asking about the ribbon part that I used instead of lace? For me it sewed pretty flat because the peak of the bust was on the main bodice part below, is yours different?
thank youuuu!! youre like the only person whos uploaded a video about this pattern! I watched westside story recently in theaters, and maria had a similar slip to this :)
Yes!!! You are so right! I just watched it a few days ago as well and her slip dress was just so pretty I wanted one for myself! Thanks so much for the tutorial! Trying to build up the confidence to sew again and this video helped so very much!!
Excellent work 😊
