Hi, loved your video. I just purchased this pattern! It calls for knit fabric but I’m not sure that would be ideal for our tropical climate. Is cotton OK? thank you!

The pattern needs knit but you are in luck as there are many cotton knit fabrics out there! They tend to be lighter weight and you may need to line the front cup area like I did. Happy sewing!

I’m new to sewing with knit and I been studying before I try. I thought you could not use a straight stitch with knit. 🤔

It depends on the project! I would say almost always use a tiny zig- zag instead of a straight stitch otherwise you will get popped stitches. This project doesn't pull over the head or really pull at all. So I did a straigt stitch. If you watch my other knit projects I recommend overlock stitch or zig-zag. A few I even show the stitch settings.
