I didn't want any pulls or handles protruding into the isle space, so I used push to open drawer slides.
This channel always has great information and content.
👍
That’s a good call! We haven’t done any push to open drawer slides because clients always want a cabinet pull but they seem like a great option!
You are able to open these drawers with this lack with push to open drawers?
@laurelanderson-rostami109 they lock when you push them closed, they open when you push them again. Everyone who sees them wants them.
I used these on my build last year and they work great. They have always stayed closed. I did use 80/20 on my cabinet frames so I had to make a little block add on. I secured these blocks with some blue thread locker and T-nuts.
I do like those and will seriously consider using them instead of the boat latch style. Thank you for this video.
Glad you found this helpful!
Hi Sara, I'm not seeing the link for the latches. I could us some of those!

Thank you!@@SaraandAlexJames
Such useful information hidden behind all the blindingly fast text animations and editing!
I don't see the link
Right!
Sorry about that - updated it with the link. Here it is: amzn.to/3TAqASC
Am I totally tired or just blind? 🤣🤣🤣 I don't see the link to the cabinet latches?
Unfortunately it only works with custom cabinets built to receive the latches on any draw that isn’t at the top of the cabinet. I learned that AFTER my first van was built and had the cabinet guy install them on the second. Even as well meaning as this video was without pointing that out you would be out of luck.
I’m not sure what you are referencing. We build our drawers shorter than the size of the front so you can easily install this style of latch
@@SaraandAlexJamesyes but you need to have a horizontal piece of wood parallel with that over each draw attached to the cabinet to hold the receiver of the latch. That’s not something a cabinet builder would normally have installed. So four draws four horizontal pieces of wood to attach the receiver.
Any cabinet builder should know that’s a necessary piece of a cabinet, whether you are doing a face frame or face frameless aka European style. Sounds like you were working with someone who didn’t have much experience. We never build a cabinet without a horizontal cleat above the drawers.
@@SaraandAlexJames please don’t think I’m being argumentative. That’s kind of the point. A kitchen cabinet guy who never built a van with this latch would never put a cleat about each drawer what’s the point? A kitchen doesn’t have latch’s. So you’re correct even 40 years building kitchens wouldn’t help unless you were planning ahead which I didn’t.
We were so tired of those cheap plastic latches breaking at the most inopportune times. Saw these in a video you posted a couple years back. We retrofitted all our cabinets and drawers with these and haven’t looked back. We travel on some rough roads and have had no issues with them opening up. Love them and recommend them regularly on RV forums.
