I played Halo for many years myself friend glad to see the OGs comming back, infinite is more classic and tbh thats all they gotta do is add there own flavor to the classic not change everything like 4 and 5 did.
Also the fact your addvert features a game that had more players than infinite is so sad. Halo is the best I need no gotcha game.

There might be one more thing you could add, knowing when to sacrifice position. Being able to recognize when you've made a mistake and recover faster. Because let's be real, we all make mistakes and knowing when to give up a position and rethink a plan can make a big difference when it comes to position at the higher rank.

generally speaking if I want to push something like streets rockets it usually takes a 2 step plan. For example if I spawn C side on streets I could choose to run shotgun side then grab bulldog then look at rockets through ATM. Or I could run to stalker rifle then look at the rockets from balcony. Or run to thrust and throw nades over arcade and try to get to tires to look at rockets. It’s never just go get rockets. Always a 2 step plan. This goes with any power up/power weapon push I make.

Especially when playing a game mode like strongholds. Very frustrating when your team just blindly goes for caps and the enemy spawns on a point you've been defending

Another Onyx player perspective for teaching people spawn predictions: every time you die try to predict where you will be spawning. Once you can guess reasonably consistently you should know the spawn system well enough. Also if you're decent and your spawn prediction is wrong, then you know there's an enemy there forcing you to spawn elsewhere (key for ctf games especially when all of a sudden you're not spawning by your flag)

i agree 100% with this, map awareness is key. based on my position and my teammates positioning i can read where the ememys will respawn, i can then prenade it to take their shields and position my self for the kill, even if i dont manage to finish them then my teammates usually do, im not the best at predicting my own spawn atm as i dont see what spawns the ememys are blocking unless i see it in my death cam( the positioning of the enemy that killed me and any nearby passing teammates)

Positioning is probably the most important skill to learn in Halo. Putting yourself in the right place at the right time is crucial for Halo

As a new FPS player, position is what I struggle with the most. I didn't understand why I was dying so much, even after practicing up in weapon drills. I'd love to see a deeper-dive video on how spawns work and add that to my knowledge. Keep up the great videos

I think it's good to consider your position relative to your teammates, know where they are so you can retreat into them so they can clean up the kill if the enemy chases you. Have you talked about this before?

I've been playing Halo for 10+ years and I've always kinda sucked. Some games I can play really well but against more formidable players I just break down. I took these questions into my game session last night and found that I was consistently winning more, or at least lessening the blow when I play people who are better. One thing you didn't mention but was brought up by another commenter was the decision when to retreat and let go of a position. I found this to be very helpful. I think during all my years of COD I learned how to run & gun and found great success in that game, but it doesn't seem to help in Halo. Diving in seems to be foolish most of the time unless you get a good drop on people. I appreciate the tips man, thanks.

When I have better map familiarity and and know the movement patterns of various potential route they can take I always dominate the entire match by huge margin.

That’s because it’s a recording taken from theater mode, as he mentioned he was not recording during this game. Infinite’s theater mode is by far the most delayed and terrible version in the Halo series lol the delay is the reason he gets kills through walls or has insane magnetism.
