Check out the Jacquard loom. It was invented by a guy named Jacquard a few hundred years ago. It wove patterns, like roses, into fabric. It used punch cards that can be recognized by old people, like me, as the punch cards that stored computer programs before hard drives were invented. I had a friend with a jacket she called a Jacquard. I thought that was like Calvin Klein. Years later I saw a Jacquard loom at the Smithsonian Museum and finally understood what her jacket was.
The church scenes show how tall Emma has gotten. It was nice to see her with Teal during that painful boat ride. She has so many of her Moms traits, kind, caring and a permanent smile on her face It is great to see th 4 of you enjoying yourself and the beauty of Guatemala.
Emma most definitely has a nurturing nature to her. I think this is why she wants to go into nursing. Btw, did you notice how GIANT I am in Guatemala?! Outstanding! Lol
Wow, what an incredible adventure in Guatemala! Zip-lining with spider monkeys sounds absolutely exhilarating. It's fantastic to see you all enjoying the beauty of the country and embracing new experiences together. Emma's growth is evident, and her kindness and infectious smile are truly admirable. The church scenes were a lovely touch, and the Jacquard loom information was fascinating. Despite the rough boat ride, you all handled it like true adventurers. Keep embracing these amazing moments, stay safe, and continue spreading that contagious joy. Can't wait to see what's next for you all! 🌟⛵️🌈
12:28 Should have yelled at the captain to slow the boat so Dad could have move to the stern of the boat for a smoother ride in that chop. Had the same experience on a Zodiac ride in Hawaii! Not fun! Beautiful place!! 🙂🖖❤
Linh looks tall compared to the women there, that must be a new experience for her. Teal and Emma must look like giants to the native people there. The Zipline looked like a lot of fun, sorry Teal couldn't participate. The adventure continues!
Another great video tour!... as usual, you made me feel like I was there with you... Teal, you will soon be able to say goodby to the things that ale you [the shoulder and back issues]... remember these two words: "MED BEDS" they're here and will soon be available for public use...[very soon!]. til next time... Charlie
What spectacular scenery. Teal, I completely understand how you feel. I broke several vertebrae 19 years ago in a work accident. Haven’t had a pain free moment since.
12:29 love this channel. If you have lower back pain you should definitely start doing a yoga stretch called the cobra. It will change your life. Many of the yoga stretches will help massively with back pain. You’re welcome hahaha trust me and do this!
I’m finally caught up. I’ve been binge watching for awhile and have loved every episode. Emma is amazing and I love seeing her drive the boats and wearing the kill switch in the small boat. Linh is also amazing. Cooking like a master chef while repairing the diesel then scrubbing the hull. Wow! Teal is my hero dad. I love your way of getting things done. I’m working on my Teal starter kit so that I can get things done the Teal way. Basik is such an amazing boat. Thanks for sharing your cruising life.
Nice trip.. had no idea that there were so many Tuk-Tuk's down there.. strange, you don't see them through the Caribbean.. Ah yeah, I can see why you were so otta breath doing that climb,,. and NOPE, can't see that happening in my future.. Sure it was just an illusion, but that boat you took across the lake, looked real deep into the water...
This episode really showed the beauty of the area and some of the culture . Really felt sorry for Teal on that boat ride across the lake . The zip line rides look pretty cool and the butterfly exhibit was something you don't get to enjoy on a regular basis as sometimes we don't get to see as many butterflies as I think we should. Tell Emma her smile is very contagious as it should be with this adventure of a life time but then again she gets that from her Mom most likely. Glad your day was full of fun and knowledge and without incident. Be careful and stay safe my friends God love ❤ ya all
While you are in Guatemala you should go visit Tikal... Maybe stay at the Jungle Lodge but most definitely sign up for the Sunrise tour where you will be escorted to the top of one of the tallest Mayan Structures, well before sunrise. It was a spiritual experience for me. You may have always heard that the early bird gets the worm but you will quickly learn that the birds are not the first to arise deep in the Reserva de Biosfera Maya. You cannot see everything in one day.
The hike up to the zip lines looked steep. Looked fun flying back on the zip lines. The local fares around the lake are very reasonable. Private boats like you took are more of course. Love your adventures.
The Museum of National Science In Raleigh NC. Has a butterfly room. With a lot of butterflies but not that big. I loved seeing the tour guide. It looked fun to do the zipline. I just have the use of my left hand. So I was wondering how I can hold a camera. I noticed you had to have one hand by the cowered. ⛵
I really enjoyed the loom work. Do you know if they sell the products and about how much. Good morning from Lodi, California. Really enjoyed this episode. Thank You!
That boat ride looked painful on Teal. Maybe if he had move aft, all the way back and put the girls toward the bow? The nature preserve looked awesome.
As beautiful as that countryside was, there ain't no amount of booze, drugs, or money that could possibly induce me to voluntarily go on one of those zipline things. Ain't no way...
I'm a little confused about this channel. It's categorised as a sailing channel, but I can't seem to find very much sailing content on it? You have built a very light and beautiful catamaran, a potential racer actually, and I loved the building process very much, yet you seem to always be motoring in zero wind. Do you ever use your sails, and just don't film it? Are you afraid of sailing when it's windy enough to use your sails? What is the problem? You're a charming family on a great boat, and yet your channel isn't growing. I for one have unsubscribed for the lack of actual sailing... It's sad to see a sailing channel with such a great potential come to this...

That weaving shop was really cool. What they make is really nice looking. Love the thumb nail photo with your boat docked in the lake.
Guatemala is the best ❤❤❤❤
Emma is going to be a movie star. She was fearless on the cable. Good job.

@@linhgobenyt oh yes your a veritable giant there Linh lol. Nice to know Emma would like to be a nurse.
I felt really bad for Teal. I had to give up boating because of neck and back issues. What a great video.
You should be amply compensated by the Guatemalan Tourist Bureau. Beautifully shot, edited and narrated!

I compressed fracture L2 riding a boat just like that from Puerto Barrios to Livingston. Ride far aft and away from the bow.

This was a great video! This is something that most of us will never see unless we see it on your videos!

Actually, it's his elbow that's the problem, not the shoulder. 🙂
shoulder, elbow, knees, back, whatever, soon none of those will be a problem for Captain Teal [actually]...@@genewaddlerandomstuff2122

Beautiful colors. I really loved the weaving coop !
Thank Y 4 taking us along on your adventures! I love seeing the beautiful fabric and how it's made. Safe travels ❤
Thanks for watching!

So cool! It was fun watching you guys zip down that line.
A little fast huh Lynn.
Spelled wrong I know
Wow, beautiful place to zip line. Great view. I've zip lined through the jungle in Thailand, however this was much prettier.
Love that adventure thanks for sharing 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾👍👍👍☕️🍷🥃❤️❤️❤️⛵️⛵️⛵️⛵️
woooooohoooooo....
love your videos, keep posting!
Thank you! Will do!
It is always fun to watch people reaction to something new. Zip wires, marvellous fun . If you get the chance try a tandem paraglide. 😂

Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🎉

Emma, In Guatemala, your mom found a population that makes her look tall.
This episode flew by, it seemed to last about two minutes!
Great story telling Emma.
Donate for a Dream
thank you for the insight, it looks really good.
😎
Great video…do you have contact info., for your tour guide? Thanks
How to book for this Ziplining? In there website but I don't see any reservation option. And may I know how much costed you guys per person?
👍👍
👍
As beautiful as that countryside was, there ain't no amount of booze, drugs, or money that could possibly induce me to voluntarily go on one of those zipline things. Ain't no way...
True story for me too. 😕
It all looked good except for the climbing, bridges, more climbing, more bridges, and the zipline. 🙄 The guided tour looked nice though. 🙂
Why aren’t they called flutterbies?
The boat ride probably wouldn't have been so hard on Teal's back if he had sat near the back of the boat.
I was thinking the same thing. I felt really bad for him.
I’m kind of disappointed. I was expecting to see a spider monkey wearing a helmet and harness on the zip line.
So was I! I thought they would have jumped on for the ride. Instead, they just looked from afar "cheering" us on. 😂

I get a kick out of Linh towering above the ladies of Santiago. Good show Basic crew!
But Wmma still towers over all.I think she needs to learn how to play Volleyball so she can get a college scholarship
