    The thing I have noticed with watching your vids and doing my own side by side comparisons with my AW3423DW, AOC Q27G3XMN, and AOC AG344UXM was that while mini LED can get brighter in larger scenes it looses massively in specular highlights and anything that's small... And with games you get a TON of highlights. They are usually a lot dimmer as the zones just cant keep up with with how small highlights can get. If you mod cyberpunk to fix the black level you can see it on headlights in the distance, QD OLED looks really bright while Mini LED looks a lot dimmer ( not bad at all though depending on the price you can get one and also no burn in ), same as stars, small lights, windows etc. Also like you said the detail in the dark scenes. That said mini LED is still impressive to me and considering we are getting cheaper and cheaper mini LEDs that allow people to get into REAL HDR at affordable prices has me excited. Loved these comparisons dude and love the effort you put into this. For anyone wanting either get QD OLED if the mini LED costs the same or more, but if you can score a deal or are scared of burn in, Mini LED is a great option for good HDR.

    That RE4 title screen looked *really* dim on the AW. Is the lower brightness from OLED a problem for you? And have you noticed any distracting ABL? I'm thinking of getting the Asus QD-OLED but I'm nervous the brightness just isn't enough.

    8:21 We are entering in a fun era with these OLED displays. They could actually be brighter than MINILEDs as long as only a very limited amount of pixels (Such as less of 5% in total) are switched on, which is the case here on this isolated text. But as soon as the display has to "share it's brightness budget" across more pixels, then everything gets dimmer il comparison to MINILEDs capable of sustaining a fairly high brightness across as many pixels as they want.
    This OLED flawed advantage mostly comes to play in space scenes or in night scenes as you've been able to witness here on Tomb Raider.

    • @AllAboutTKK
      @AllAboutTKK  4 месяца назад +1

      There wasn’t much of anything in person I enjoyed on the mini LED vs the QD-OLED.
      If this were a traditional WOLED with or without MLA, maybe so, but the QD option has the bright potential mixed with the perfect contrast that just makes it an immediate win. But these are just my opinion.
      I’m actually very happy with the AW3225, no desires to even touch another entry from other companies either due to this one being curved, it’s really good.

    • @SP95
      @SP95 4 месяца назад +1

      How about scenes set in a bright HDR daylight ? Was the MiniLED advantage that noticeable against the clamped QD-OLED ?
      I would totally forget about WOLED because they loose a lot color accuracy the brighter they go against QD-OLED and MiniLED displays.
      Yes this QD-OLED Gen 3 seems to be the point in time many have dreamt on since the late 2000s when we first heard about the tech.
      I doubt they are going to improve much as the only tech that will overtake QD-OLED is going to be TCL's Inkjet RGB OLED who are not ready for prime time yet.

      Probably are not but the G8 flaws over the QD-OLED are something many who have adopted an OLED will not live with.

    but the brightness on the g8 makes it more addictive. the alienware brightness is no brighter than g8 which makes your eyes feel nothing but boredom no focus. not only the g8 is more addictive to the eyes but the curveness of the g8 wraps your view eyes and your face and your view angle in a such a unexplainable good way. and that light bottom corner on the alienware would be so distracting

  • @DjiDroneRM
    @DjiDroneRM 5 месяцев назад +1

    Hello, you tested only hdr? Because hdr only a few games will look good in hdr.
    Iam so dissopointed because are all 1000+ screens. And only for hdr, sdr is not that great because of the brightness. All hdr every game every program needs to be tweaked. And then sdr please show some sdr content. Sdr is for me still the best! Viberant clerarity good brightness.(but for qd oled) low brigthness). You can only get advantage with peak brightness when you turn on hdr. I had alienware aw34.... qd oled yeah deep blacks high contrast but i had never one single time a wow factor with hdr on. I calibrate everyting from deep dark blacks to reshade to everhthing.
    And when i turn SDR back on on a non qd oled it blows my mind 😁.
    SDR with local.dimming like the neo g7 or neo g8 with some tweaking for the perfect white. Still it blows me away.
    I think the hdr wirh all the things you need to for the so called perfect hdr no still not satisfy me.
    With the neo g7 and neo g8 you got hdr i dont use it but you have it. And you can use sdr with high brightness deep blacks very good contrast and local dimming enable in sdr its still the all rounder for me.
    Yes viewing angle sucks. Buts thats VA and gues i play not sideways but at.the front of the panel haha.
    But what i wanna say its hdr to much focus on it atm.

      @AllAboutTKK  4 месяца назад

      Have you experienced this or shooting worst case scenario out there?
      Panels of today have pixel cleaning, image shifting technology to help with this. In order for you to see tech you would have to have some type of radical static images, from a monitor perspective it’s going to be much harder to destroy the panel VS tv panel because the same type of content won’t be viewed, think reading an article vs a tv being idle on let’s say CNN, FOX, ESPN, etc.
      Everything is great with a Mini LED until you see that bleeding white to black.

    • @ceuser3555
      @ceuser3555 4 месяца назад

      Worst case scenario, hence my fear of buying OLED monitors. I can do anything with my monitor and not worry a thing. I can have it on all day, static image or not, no issues or fears, and texts are as clear as it can be.
      No bleeding, no dead pixel. I’ll wait a bit until there is no burn-in absolutely.

    • @AllAboutTKK
      @AllAboutTKK  4 месяца назад

      @@ceuser3555 monitor abuse!
      There will never be no burn in absolutely on an OLED. And anything that is not an OLED does have some bleeding, just the science of an LED no matter the panel style that is currently available, specifically in this direct comparison.

    The Samsung Odyssey Neo G8 Mini LED is much better than the Alienware QD-OLED! In my opinion.. I returned my Alienware QD-OLED the same day that i purchased it and went with the Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 32-Inch 4k 165hz display instead and couldn't be happier.. For what ever reason OLED monitors are just not as good as OLED TVS.. With that said the only other display that beats the Samsung Neos would be LG C2/C3.. But the LG is a TV and is 42 inches for the smallest sized model that LG makes and they can only do 120hz.. But as far as monitors go, these Samsung Odyssey Neos are truly special, though, for sure and will get you as close as you possibly can get to an OLED.. They also can be had for great prices now in 2024.

    • @AllAboutTKK
      @AllAboutTKK  3 месяца назад +3

      Much better is an exaggeration!
      Let’s just look at the facts, both are 32”, both are curved. Financially has to be the only option, and you went with option 2 on the Samsung end so you don’t even get the higher refresh rate for 1080p esports. But I do get that you said “in your opinion”, on paper no person is ever going to go for that option over this QD-OLED option unless it’s a financially conscious choice.
      But as an owner of both those you’re speaking on and the C2, I have to offer the counter opinion of my own which is that the Alienware is the greatest monitor I’ve owned.
