Just trust him bc he’s doing this professionally and I don’t know shit. Gotta do what the artist suggest, u won’t regret it

Im a big dude and slept thru a 5hr head tattoo and a 4 hr throat tattoo but had to tap out on the ribs lol its finished but it took alot of sessions cuz I couldn't deal with more than 2 hrs at a time. At the same time I've seen tiny girls get their first tattoo on the ribs and laugh thru 6-8hrs

No, the issue is that he didn't do foreshortening which is what would have made it look like its coming towards you. He drew it as if the body was detached from the head and in the background.

I got my rib tattoo about 4 months ago. It was just script of my moms handwriting but It is PERFECT. So clean and healed beautifully. My artist made me so comfortable for my first tat (I passed two kidney stones the day before so why not add more pain right?) I’m just so happy with it.
Man, they really should do a better screening process for these people. Make sure they want something that will fit in the challenge and that they haven't done something like lose a ton of weight that will make the tattoo harder.

I sat through an 8hr session on my ribs recently, and that stung pretty bad at certain points. Fully black and grey realism, which means passing over the same areas repeatedly while the artist builds up values of the shading. I have a high threshold for pain, I've been through several back surgeries without painkillers but that rib session was exhausting. By the end when my artist was working on the back half of it, I couldn't stay awake, not because I was being tough, but because it was that exhausting. Still have another 20hrs to go. Definitely gonna do shorter sessions, cus you tend to be free of endorphins after 6hrs.
Personally, I would never go on a show like this to get a tattoo. They rush the crap out of them, and sure they look good once they're done. The amount of times a person tries to tell the artist that they “can finish it” or they “have to adapt” is disgusting. The tattoo artist is giving you input and letting you know some of their restrictions and you should listen. If you don’t, then you truly shouldn’t be pissed at the outcome especially if they warned you.
I had my ribs done and it was ok, it was one the piece extended into my armpit that my eyes went cross also when the piece hit the top of my hip wooohman that stung. I had my ribs done ...over 20 years ago and its needs a touch up, I am kind of not looking forward to the touch up ha ha ha.

its a show, they have scripts, they actually get to tattoo more than the timelimit, but it just adds suspense.

The amount of times a person tries to tell the artist that they “can finish it” or they “have to adapt” is disgusting. The tattoo artist is giving you input and letting you know some of their restrictions and you should listen. If you don’t, then you truly shouldn’t be pissed at the outcome especially if they warned you.
I will NEVER get another rib tattoo. I would rather tattoo my head again than do my ribs and feel that pain.

I had my ribs done and it was ok, it was one the piece extended into my armpit that my eyes went cross also when the piece hit the top of my hip wooohman that stung. I had my ribs done ...over 20 years ago and its needs a touch up, I am kind of not looking forward to the touch up ha ha ha.
