Hi. I've owned and worked on several of those Chinese saws so first, on many saws the small hole you mentioned actually goes to an adjustment for the chain oiler. Use a small flat screwdriver and turn a screw deep inside the hole to adjust the flow of oil to the chain. Second, the 25/1 oil mix is simple. 40/1 or 50/1 mix oil is the recommended leanest mix the oil will work for. Meaning the less amount of oil mix that will still provide satisfactory lubrication. Use the same oil for a 25/1 mix but use just twice the amount recommended for 50/1.

Nice thing about you buying this saw is you’ll put three years of homeowners use on it in three months. So you can report back on any issues with wear, and if anything wears out, parts support
Ratios like 25:1 were recommended back when we used regular SAE 30 4 stroke oils in our gas, or old 2 stroke oils that had terrible lubrication properties compared to todays oils. Run whatever ratio you want, running more oil isn’t going to hurt your engine provided you jet the carburetor correctly for that ratio. A richer oil to gas ratio will result in a leaner running engine, too much oil without a jet change or adjustment will burn up an engine.
in sweden we had 3 brands of chainsaw manufacturer.husqvarna jonsered and partner, husqvarna is as you know still around but the other 2 is gone and this pinkway is a copy off a old partner saw, this model is sold as a bunch of brands/names,
50:1 versus 25:1 relates to the quality of the 2 stroke oil only and this is specified by the oil manufacturer. The fact that the saw ran fine on both without mixture adjustment is impressive.
Those old fashioned saws with the bar adjuster screw around the front next to the bar always loosen up and drop the chain. They should really improve chain tension adjustments. That would be something to see a video about.
I have had a Chinese saw for 5 years, I took my regular 50:1 mix and added some cheapo two stroke oil someone gave me for the first few gallon of fuel, after that all red Armor 50:1 and she still runs great with less smoke.
@echocall they do, but running good 2-stroke oil at 50:1 has never been a problem. 25:1 just gets too smokey and makes my eyes burn ang gives me a headache.
I run my timberpro and parkerbrand 50-1 or maybe >40:1 and it's fine. Keep the chain sharp so you're not abusing the motor and they are well worth it for the 10 cords I fell and buck a year
I have to say from watching your videos from when you were work in east side to now I have learn a lot from you on felling trees and love watching your videos keep up the great work
I’m traveling and came to WA for the first time. I drove through kings county, man it’s amazing! I’m from VA so we don’t have this beautiful scenery. But these trees are massive!
Pro tip: Drill a small hole in handle and shoot it full of great stuff expanding foam. It will stiffen up and prevent bending. Love your channel, thanks!
Jacob that saw looks identical, aside from colour, to a "62cc" Giantz brand saw I bought a few years ago for $90 Australian, on eBay. 1 trailer load of firewood and they pay for themselves 😂
"I don't want to get greedy with this chain, in case the saw doesn't have too much power". Oh, don't worry my friend! Get greedy! Everyone knows the Pinkway is a one way ticket to torque city, boarding at domination station!
I ran my titan 49cc chainsaw in on idling 60°c for 3 hours before cutting soft prvi hedge and 40,-1 mix aspin and sthill ultra fully synthetic stroke mix
I have been looking around for a good saw that I can use while out on the back woods jeep trails. I would love to see you use this over time and give it a review after a couple of months of use.
I've had my amazon dereal (63cc) saw for a couple years now and have modified it quite a bit and it's still just as good as the first day. Better actually. It was only the second saw I bought brand new and like you have bein surprised with how well it performs. After it I've bought about 30 more saws ranging from a 99cc bb 066 red-light to a cs3510. I love felling trees. Just wish I lived in a better state for it vs Oklahoma.
The main challenge with any cheaper gear is how well they will last in good working condition, not just a quick test run. May be fine for someone who want to get a small bit of firewood once a year, but for professional use, a risk, although a cheap one.
I love cheap chainsaw reviews 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 best wishes from germany I run all my saws 1:50, even my 1:25 but i use special fuel (Aspen). PS: i think its a Zenoah knock off. Zenoah is a japanese saw. Very often sold in Germany.
Let's be real. Some of the cheap Chinese saws are not nearly as bad as some people want them to be. The thing that I don't like about that saw is its name. Just not manly enough. lolo. Everybody stay safe out there.
@@dailystruggle2762 My guess is {Only a guess} that over time you will see that the cheap Chinese saw will not hold up as well. I hope that I am wrong. Even if they can't hold up to as much abuse as a top line saw, there is still a place for them. Take care.
I immediately went on Amazon and purchased one of these fine saws. Should be here by April 21st. I can hardly wait to run this muscle saw. Thanks for bringing this to my attention!!
Reminds me of my Polen Pro Wild Thing. Still have it after 20 to 30 trees and the motor is still strong. Paid under 100 bucks at WallyWorld. The bar went toes up and was replaced.
That exact same saw is $494.29CAD ($359.37 USD)on Amazon in here in Canada! What a rip for us! I've got a Holtzforma, and they too suggest 25:1. Like you, I ran a few tanks like that and switched over to 50:1, and that was 3 years ago. It's still running fine. Thanks for the review.
You can convert that to a side tensioner very easily. Look up 25cc chain tensioner on the jungle site. Trust me it fits. Remove the side cover / chain brake. Remove the 2 screws and plate covering existing tensioner and remove it. Take a 5/16rh Drill bit and run it through the side hole that is for the straight slot gear part of the tensioner. That will allow it to fit. Push that piece into place. It will be a TIGHT fit that is normal for that part. Install the adjustment nib / screw bit into place. Pro tip is to adjust the bit so that it lines up with the current adjustment you were using. Once you get it all in make sure there is plenty of grease all over every part of the tensioner including inside the plastic pockets. It will be VERY hard to turn at first. It should self clearance then work normally after you run it back and forth for a bit. I've done all of the chinese saws this way since I figured it out.
It's also safe to run these at 40:1 with high quality oil. That's what I've been doing without any obvious extra wear. That's my main complaint about these saws. They only have a 510ml tank so it goes really fast compared to at least 800ml on Stihl. It looks like yours actually got the 48mm bore cylinder (61.5 actual CCs FYI). That hump I could see on the side of the cylinder. It should have came with a small crappy but functional dog in the bag. Mine did. They have 4 actual sizes of these clones. Chainsaw Chainsaw (25.4cc) is the smallest Zenoah Clone. Then it goes 46.5cc, 54,5cc, and 61.5cc. The best power can be had from the first and middle sized units as the transfers really suffer trying to feed the bigger CCs.
My cs 310 is nice way past due on maintenance plus she runs off the top. I messed up a Stihl chainsaw at school. I had polen pro wild thing that sucks. Echo is where I am at. Oregon need to reinvent advanced cut S56 that dual out on me.
You don't see the Stihl and Husky zealots trying Echo saws because they know their hearts will be broken when they find out how much money they've been wasting all these years on the designer brand cool kid saws.
My Echo 400cs 18"is one of the most dependable chainsaws that I have ever purchased. I have cut right at 192 cords of Alligator Juniper Plus a lot of cords of Pine, Cedar and Pinon with it so far and never had the plug out of it yet. Works like a dream compared to my Six year old Stihl . Always starts on the first pull every time. Paid about $ 200 bucks for it about 14 years ago. I guess if it ever dies I might try that Pink Way.lol Keep up the good work Jake!👍
So I saw one other video of this pinkway saw and was told to avoid it but since watching yours it’s exactly what I thought about doing run 25:1 for a day for break in and then throw 50:1 in it like all my two stroke gas lol, glad I found this video
Yes! Cutting down live trees with a purple saw that identifies as pink will not offend anyone! That was freaking smart! What other color would be less threatening?
I have a cheap 62cc Chinese saw too. I love it. Can’t kill it. Yet. And it’s incredibly reliable. These saws will never compare to the big brand professional saws but they absolutely have their place for the causal homeowner user. You can run them with 50:1 no problems but allegedly do better if run-in at 25:1 like you did.
Well that was a nice surprise. Longevity is the real question. For the money, It looks like a great throw away saw if you're a pro. If you're an average homeowner, it's a saw that could possibly last you a lifetime. Great vid!
Looks like basically the same saw as the Supmix brand (another chinese saw on Amazon), complete with the tensioner hole that goes nowhere. If it is indeed the same, its not actually 62cc -- apparently is measures out to around 55ccs. It runs fine on 50:1. I've owned it for 2 years now and cut a decent amount of firewood with it. Also, I LOVE the spring assisted start -- the saw will start with just a casual slow pull in your hands. Its like drop starting a saw without having to actually throw it down.
That handle bar looked a bit bendy even when you were doing the cut, hate to think what would happen if it got pinched in a cut. Maybe if you added a spoonful of 2t oil to each tank, that would bring it nearer to 32:1. Got to keep the Pinkway well lubricated..!
I ought a 58cc 20” bar last November for $85 on Amazon cause it was cheaper than a new bar and chain! That thing is a Stihl clone and it surpassed my expectations! I use a saw maybe 5 times a year so spending $400 plus didn’t make sense. I have had zero issues out of the saw and it starts every time on the first two pulls!
"Works great" is not true at all. They will run for a short bit, I'll give you that, but they quickly degrade. You've started it every weekend for the past 8 months. You haven't even cut a twig with one. Don't lie. It isn't cool, nowadays.

Its as with every niche product initially going cheap on amazon, they wait until popular channels gets one and praises it, then they up the price by 3-4 times and lower quality maximum.
Gotta love Chinglish. Some time it feels like you are chopping down trees that could be pruned into real awesome landscaper centerpieces. I get that it might be a case of invasive species, but trimming some so the canopy is more open would probably solve a lot of problems you have to cut them down for.
Instead of throwing things away donate them to a charity or thrift store that gives part of their money to charity or put them up for free on Facebook or something
At 8;20 that is what they call a square ground cutter on your chain. They run those a lot out west , they do well in large trees. Clean them selves out nicely as they go through.
25-1 fuel is what all 2 strokes should be running, but the USA EPA forces companies to be compliant . so they put 50-1 or even 100-1 to meat the guidelines.. effectively wrecking the engines early
Where do you get that nonsense from? 100:1 is enough for lubrication. So 50:1 is 2x safety built in, if you don't mix yourself (and mess up your mixes) and use premixed alkylate gas you and your engine will be just fine. 25:1 recommendations is probably from a time (or country) that didn't have high quality oils available.
When hooking up to the pintle hitch, if you removed the pin from the reciever homding the trailer ball in place, you could have slipped the ball into the pintle, then probably slid it inside the receiver again and locked it in place More work, but looks like it would have fit. Slightly safer than it just sitting up on top of the ball and relying on friction to keep it in place.
Everybody talking about this 120.00 chainsaw you have to understand it's not going to last long at all you can't use it every day non-stop like a Stihl or Husky chainsaw you get what you pay for the power might be okay out of the box but it's not going to last for long as we all know God bless great job Jake
And it's not supposed to. This is a once a year use saw for homeowners. If a buyer cut down 6 trees like he did and the saw then died you still got a bargain compared with hiring a tree service.
Jake, last fall I got some little yellow saw just like that. It was 12” bar , crazy useless file etc. I fueled it up and put it through the ringer, fully expecting it to not hot start. Or even start at all again. I was wrong, the lil sucker is a crazy one handed tool and it is almost my go to for light work and even some extended firewood bucking. I put an Oregon 14” on it and it’s got enough balls to handle some leaning on it. It was about $100 and it was a hell of a surprise. My 14” husky battery is 2x that!
Qztodo? I have 2 (thats another story) of them and run them all the time for light stuff. The only functional problem I had with them was my fault -- in a rush cutting a tree top off a fence just before total dark, I got the bar pinched and ripped an AV mount (under the top bar). Ordered a full set of Zenoah AV mounts for $10 off ebay and fixed the problem when they arrived from China. I also have a 10" bar that I want to try on one, as well as a 14" bar, no reason in particular, just like messing with those little saws.
Yes, that’s the one. It’s a screaming beast. I thought my ancient Shindawa was high rev and it has a 14” bar on it and was my fastest, lightest saw until this guy showed up. For those times when you don’t need the echo timberwolf , which is getting used less often as I get older and less enthusiastic about sawing in general. 😂 I think also a learning experience, see how much you can get done with the little buggers. Might be my imagination but I seem to get a lot of running time from a tank of gas too.
You could actually order a side tensioner that fits straight into the side hole, that is what i did for 2.00 £ , i also recommend to upgrade the air filter and fuel filter to better ones, you can get all that for less than 10 bucks, from the Chinese online stores.
Hey Jake that saw is a knock off of a saw from a Japanese brand that is owned by husky so if you want to change that bar it will either be a K095 or D009 mount bar that will fit that saw
I have a cheap China made that came with a front tensioner that drove me mad. Found a conversion kit for a lateral one as mine also came with a hole on the side. I payed one dollar and it made life a lot more easy.
I bought the orange and white version same saw but 58cc with 20" bar on Temu for $72. Thing is awesome. Cut up mine and my neighbors broken trees after hurricane Milton. It's becoming very difficult not to buy Chinese products nowadays for these prices.

I've never run any ethanol through it and I've yet to have to service a single piece of it. 99% of people out there who touch chainsaws have no business touching a $2000 saw. But there is no shame in occasionally purchasing the $400 knock off of the $2000 saw😅
Nice thing about you buying this saw is you’ll put three years of homeowners use on it in three months. So you can report back on any issues with wear, and if anything wears out, parts support
I have 40 acres and im a “homeowner”…homeowner needs to be defined….
@@TheAcenightcreeper someone not cutting with their saw as part of their job all day everyday.
"I only needed 62 but 63 is even better" 🤣😂🤣
Said he only needed 19 but 20 is even better also 😂
This one goes to 11.
A richer oil to gas ratio will result in a leaner running engine, too much oil without a jet change or adjustment will burn up an engine.
in sweden we had 3 brands of chainsaw manufacturer.husqvarna jonsered and partner, husqvarna is as you know still around but the other 2 is gone and this pinkway is a copy off a old partner saw, this model is sold as a bunch of brands/names,
Partner only sold DIY stuff in UK.
It's actually a clone of Komatsu Zenoah G500 and Jonsered I'm pretty sure got bought by Husqvarna, Partner probably too.
50:1 versus 25:1 relates to the quality of the 2 stroke oil only and this is specified by the oil manufacturer. The fact that the saw ran fine on both without mixture adjustment is impressive.
You have some very dangerous techniques😮😮
Those old fashioned saws with the bar adjuster screw around the front next to the bar always loosen up and drop the chain. They should really improve chain tension adjustments. That would be something to see a video about.
Pinkway did well. For 120 even just last cut stump saw. Cheers
The 25/1 ratio is usually for just their break in period Jake.
I have had a Chinese saw for 5 years, I took my regular 50:1 mix and added some cheapo two stroke oil someone gave me for the first few gallon of fuel, after that all red Armor 50:1 and she still runs great with less smoke.
Don't the Holzfforma clones call for 25:1 too? I think most people run 50 in those
@echocall they do, but running good 2-stroke oil at 50:1 has never been a problem. 25:1 just gets too smokey and makes my eyes burn ang gives me a headache.
I run my timberpro and parkerbrand 50-1 or maybe >40:1 and it's fine. Keep the chain sharp so you're not abusing the motor and they are well worth it for the 10 cords I fell and buck a year
Jacob, you’re fired🤣 this is hilarious.
I have to say from watching your videos from when you were work in east side to now I have learn a lot from you on felling trees and love watching your videos keep up the great work
“ the saws just get better as you go” lmao
I’m traveling and came to WA for the first time. I drove through kings county, man it’s amazing! I’m from VA so we don’t have this beautiful scenery. But these trees are massive!
Pro tip: Drill a small hole in handle and shoot it full of great stuff expanding foam. It will stiffen up and prevent bending. Love your channel, thanks!
fair and very honest review of this saw. Many thanks
Chainsaw Jenna has that same Pinkway saw. Maybe you all could do some videos together and learn some carving techniques.
Pretty good saw for 120. That one face cut looked huge. Its funny that little machine pushing over trees and pulling!
The lack of eye protection tell me everything I need to know.
Or hearing protection or chaps.
The pants are Kevlar I think.
Very interesting! I might need one of those purple saws for my channel. 😊
Jacob that saw looks identical, aside from colour, to a "62cc" Giantz brand saw I bought a few years ago for $90 Australian, on eBay.
1 trailer load of firewood and they pay for themselves 😂
as an overland beater saw on back of a 4x4... this saw would be a win! ❤🎉
Wonder what a little minor porting and muffler work would do to that saw!! Pretty damn impressive for $129!!!
"I don't want to get greedy with this chain, in case the saw doesn't have too much power". Oh, don't worry my friend! Get greedy! Everyone knows the Pinkway is a one way ticket to torque city, boarding at domination station!
As soon as I saw that ratchet scrench, I headed to
sappy supplies. Nice! 👌🏼
But sold out!
Yes… I had about $75 worth of crap I really didn’t need for free shipping too. 🥲
Cut firewood with carefully treated cheap saw, sell firewood, buy professional saw, Simple !
Honestly even if the saw never ran again after that job, it did fine for what it costs.
Jake, you need to teach Tim at veterans tree service how to identify different trees. LOL. Great video.💪
CONGRATS ON 1 million by the way!!🎉🥳🎊🍾
I love cheap chainsaw reviews 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 best wishes from germany
I run all my saws 1:50, even my 1:25 but i use special fuel (Aspen).
PS: i think its a Zenoah knock off. Zenoah is a japanese saw. Very often sold in Germany.
That custom grind definitely helped but the saw sounds healthy for sure
Let's be real. Some of the cheap Chinese saws are not nearly as bad as some people want them to be. The thing that I don't like about that saw is its name. Just not manly enough. lolo. Everybody stay safe out there.
They are actually really good. No difference to my Husqvarna neither…
@@dailystruggle2762 My guess is {Only a guess} that over time you will see that the cheap Chinese saw will not hold up as well. I hope that I am wrong. Even if they can't hold up to as much abuse as a top line saw, there is still a place for them. Take care.
Glad you're OK. I've been there, as I've been through a few hurricanes as well.
Slow process, but you'll all get there.
Round 2's coming for FL. 🙏🙏🙏
I immediately went on Amazon and purchased one of these fine saws. Should be here by April 21st. I can hardly wait to run this muscle saw.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention!!
It's the 22nd did you get your saw ?
@@KeeganWilson Yes I did . Sunday afternoon. I have not had time to get it together and use it.
It is quite the $118 saw.
I love your videos. I appreciate how you talk about why you made the cut and what it does. Thanks so much
cheaper saw + expensive chain grinder = good saw
Yo Jake you should test Echo chainsaws next PLEASE
Best saws ever
My cs 310 is nice way past due on maintenance plus she runs off the top. I messed up a Stihl chainsaw at school. I had polen pro wild thing that sucks. Echo is where I am at. Oregon need to reinvent advanced cut S56 that dual out on me.
don't bother, just leave ECHOES ON THE SHELF, TRUST ME....
That saw will get you lots of jobs in washington
bahahahah ....something like that
Yes! Cutting down live trees with a purple saw that identifies as pink will not offend anyone! That was freaking smart! What other color would be less threatening?
Dude is the best at positive sarcasm.
good job jacob. i just ordered the pinkway and the pinkway 25cc top handle. I like trying these low priced saws also.
How does Jacob never get sawdust in his eyes? I find it amazingly & remarkably INCREDIBLE!!💯🔥😆👍
2 x 25 to 1 fuel = 50 to 1
Simple math
You just need 2 Pinkway saws
I have a cheap 62cc Chinese saw too. I love it. Can’t kill it. Yet. And it’s incredibly reliable. These saws will never compare to the big brand professional saws but they absolutely have their place for the causal homeowner user. You can run them with 50:1 no problems but allegedly do better if run-in at 25:1 like you did.
Well that was a nice surprise. Longevity is the real question. For the money, It looks like a great throw away saw if you're a pro. If you're an average homeowner, it's a saw that could possibly last you a lifetime. Great vid!
Its a zenoah clone, it will take a beating
Looks like basically the same saw as the Supmix brand (another chinese saw on Amazon), complete with the tensioner hole that goes nowhere. If it is indeed the same, its not actually 62cc -- apparently is measures out to around 55ccs.
It runs fine on 50:1.
I've owned it for 2 years now and cut a decent amount of firewood with it.
Also, I LOVE the spring assisted start -- the saw will start with just a casual slow pull in your hands. Its like drop starting a saw without having to actually throw it down.
Lies, everyone knows that the chainsaw chainsaw is the best saw ever made
That handle bar looked a bit bendy even when you were doing the cut, hate to think what would happen if it got pinched in a cut. Maybe if you added a spoonful of 2t oil to each tank, that would bring it nearer to 32:1. Got to keep the Pinkway well lubricated..!
32:1 is a good idea on these Zenoah clones.
What was it
Can you tell us the name of the saw
i bought one similar off amazon for $100 and i've been using it every weekend for the last 8 months. Works great.
"Works great" is not true at all. They will run for a short bit, I'll give you that, but they quickly degrade. You've started it every weekend for the past 8 months. You haven't even cut a twig with one. Don't lie. It isn't cool, nowadays.
Idont know how they can even sell them for 122dollars thats crazy
When you pay your sweat shop employee's 20 cents an hr it starts to make sense
child labor is how
@@hillcresthayfarms9664 Don't worry someday those kids will become proficient and running sweat shops of their own and will have learned all the skills to operate at a young age
Its as with every niche product initially going cheap on amazon, they wait until popular channels gets one and praises it, then they up the price by 3-4 times and lower quality maximum.
Over 60% of the world's population lives off less than 2$ a day.
Gotta love Chinglish. Some time it feels like you are chopping down trees that could be pruned into real awesome landscaper centerpieces. I get that it might be a case of invasive species, but trimming some so the canopy is more open would probably solve a lot of problems you have to cut them down for.
Jacob, did it leak any bar oil when resting?
mine does not
Tire chains work great for muddy situations.
Instead of throwing things away donate them to a charity or thrift store that gives part of their money to charity or put them up for free on Facebook or something
Pinkway saw sales about to skyrocket! Disturb the market! 💪😂
Squirrel your going to get demonetized put the safety glasses on 💥💥🍔
At 8;20 that is what they call a square ground cutter on your chain. They run those a lot out west , they do well in large trees. Clean them selves out nicely as they go through.
Why don’t you wear your safety glasses when grinding exspecially while on RUclips.
His eyes his problem, OSHA ain't gonna pay him a visit for something he's doing on his own time.
Lifelong framer from Germany here, lived from 1996 til 2018 in Alaska. Came back to Germany and had to get a chainsaw certification 😂😂😂
Aren't u sick of the German bureaucracy, glad I moved to Australia
Next thing you know, you’ll have to get certified for nail guns, circular saws, claw hammers and speed squares.
Try running 100 to 1 in a 100cc rotary valve racing engine always follow the manual @michelle778
31:13 That's what she said!! Nice work
@ChainsawJenna did it first! 😂
It’s Like a Poulan But Actually Runs and Works 😮😀😮👍🏼
It would cut much better if you take the time to sharpen the chain
When hooking up to the pintle hitch, if you removed the pin from the reciever homding the trailer ball in place, you could have slipped the ball into the pintle, then probably slid it inside the receiver again and locked it in place
More work, but looks like it would have fit.
You could actually order a side tensioner that fits straight into the side hole, that is what i did for 2.00 £ , i also recommend to upgrade the air filter and fuel filter to better ones, you can get all that for less than 10 bucks,
from the Chinese online stores.
Hey Jake that saw is a knock off of a saw from a Japanese brand that is owned by husky so if you want to change that bar it will either be a K095 or D009 mount bar that will fit that saw
Soon as the WCS Pinkway felling dogs come out, I’m definitely buying the Pinkway! 😉
I bought a Supmix saw off Amazon and love it. The chains are crap but the saw is decent.
