Not really. In actuality if Golu fought smarter toriyama would have written the story differently. If anything I feel these type of discussions don't give enough credit to toriyama.

Most of this is on-point with the Butterfly Effect of Goku's actions, but the Cell Saga is not. In fact, there are 3 plot points that make the ending not work: 1. Goku killed Freiza immediately as in this story he saw him as a threat he couldn't risk doing something drastic, but he wouldn't instill this discipline in Gohan while training in the Time Chamber to beat Perfect Cell? 2. Cell would be a *lot* weaker without Frieza's DNA, so much so I'd wager that Goku could've beaten him on his own if he gave it his all. 3. Cell wouldn't blow himself up without Frieza's DNA affecting his thinking. If anything, he would act more like Saiyan Saga Vegeta: Headstrong, entitled, power hungry and egotistical, while valuing his own life over everything else. Cell would attempt a final beam struggle the moment it appears he might lose, or in the case of getting reverted to Semi-Perfect cell, he would absolutely flee in self-preservation.
It's not "fan fiction" to think that Vegeta would decide to follow the legendary Super Saiyan back to Earth. Like, at all. There's a pletora of reasons to believe he'd follow Goku, from simply beyond in awe to wanting to achieve the same power. If anything believing that Vegeta would just randomly forget that Goku is the legendary Super Saiyan he's heard and talked so much about is the real far-fetched scenario, particularly when he stays on Earth precisely to wait for him originally. If anything they'd probably end up training together(as in this scenario Vegeta would be in complete awe after witnessing so much first hand), and it's very likely Vegeta would quickly achieve the form and they'd push each other much farther than originally.
This is why I love Q's what-ifs: Scientific and to-the-point. Any delineations or unlikelyhoods are framed as such and brought up for the sake of discussion. None of those fanfiction shenanigans that other RUclipsr's do while calling it a "what-if". Don't get me wrong, those series can enjoyable and valuable in their own right, but a "what-if" is what *would* happen, not: what you want to happen to tell the story you invented, no matter how ludicrous...

@@QaamansLand Ah, yes. I'll explain. At 3:30, you point out how the most likely scenario is that King Cold will just blow up the Earth. You took that as the primary outcome, but since that dead-ended the story, you then went to the secondary and tertiary outcomes that Goku stops him, gets sick and dies, or stops him, doesn't get sick and is killed by the androids. When the story hit another dead end, you introduced the unlikely event that Vegeta would still come to Earth, but you acknowledge that it was unlikely. In other words, you branch off or delineate whenever the outcome for the protagonists reaches a dead end in order to create further discussion. But you do so in such a way that you acknowledge those are alternative or unlikely outcomes rather than presenting them as the most logical conclusions outright. It's kind of like branching timelines. I hope that makes it clearer It's an honest and logical way of going about these discussions. Other people who do these things will just editorialize it willy-nilly and invent unjustified outcomes. Which is fine if the point is to tell an interesting story. But if the point is to present a logical analysis, your method is far better. Your what-ifs are the first I watched on RUclips many years ago, btw, so thanks. I'll keep an eye out for your revised Timelines video in the future.

Yes. The all sensed Frieza's approach a while in advance, so it's possible got Goku to fly around to the point where he sensed Cold and intercept. As Qaaman put in.

Mecha Frieza only existed because Frieza was still partially alive. If he was fully dead there would be no way of resurrecting him so Earth would still be safe. Also Vegeta, now no longer under Frieza’s rule would probably find a place to train like he did to turn into a Super Saiyan for the first time and then with little else to do visit Earth at some point. Even if he starts his own army like Frieza, he will still want to visit Earth again because he already built a decent relationship with Goku and Gohan. Then after that Android 19 and 20 are beat so Android 17 and 18 are destroyed along with that timeline’s Cell. If any version of Cell manages to time travel into the main timeline he won’t be able to ascend beyond his imperfect form and will eventually be beaten as well.
I'd also like to see a _"Why is Future Gohan so much weaker?"_ video, if possible. There are a few ways to go about it. Although it may already have been done on this channel...

Imperfect Cell would be a non-factor in this scenario, IMO. Most of his power came from Frieza and King Cold, since the rest of his DNA came from the characters before they went off to Namek and were still relatively weak. At best, his max-power would only be as strong as 17 and 18, meaning he wouldn't be able to absorb or overpower them if the two androids teamed up against him. As for 17 and 18, it'd depend on if 16 is still a factor, since his presence seemed to heavily alter their actions. If not, then Piccolo would have to quickly fuse with Kami and hold them off, while Goku and Gohan woud need to train in the RoSaT. If Piccolo was able to hold them off for a few hours, then Goku and Gohan would likely catch up to them in power, since it only took them less than a day to catch up to a half-serious Perfect Cell.
I agree with most of your points, but some issues I have are: 1. I think Vegeta would eventually go back to planet Earth because he would want to learn SSJ. It was obvious surpassing Goku became his main goal and he was like a puppy waiting for Goku to come home. 2. King Cold probably wouldn’t be successful in blowing up Earth because everyone could sense them long before they got near Earth. 3. Goku probably would be stronger in base because he’d have better training than on Yardrat (wouldn’t make a difference though).
I feel like if cell didn’t get friezas AND colds dna he would be some weird different form and too weak if the fighters trained like they originally did and the androids would kill him if he didn’t absorb so many people first. But you can see the horns from cold in cells crown or the green pointed things. Mostly in his second and final or perfect form.he’s got details that scream mostly frieza. I wonder if he would look more like piccolo because the regeneration is important too it’s a key thing to cell’s durability. He would look odd I think but just doesn’t fit without frieza and cold. He’d be more like the other androids but bio and no hand like feet. Maybe more bug like and still with a beak?
I feel like vegeta would live in earth just for the reason that goku was a super saiyan and I feel he’d want to see and learn about it , i mean vegeta was searching for goku constantly in the canon timeline. But I could be wrong

Don’t forget that King Kai only mentioned that he knew Instant Transmission in the original English dub, which had a number of inaccuracies.. such as Frieza stating that he was only using 1% of his power during his fight with Goku. In other words, he doesn’t even know it in filler.
@@QaamansLand If memory serves.. in the Japanese version, King Kai simply states that Instant Transmission was a handy trick, not that he knew how to use it.. and your Dragon Ball what-if scenarios are a delight to watch~ 🙂👍🏼 The inaccuracies in the old English dub are one of the main reasons why I prefer Kai.

Good point, but even so, Cell might still just decide to blow himself and/or the world up at any point when he starts to lose. Even Vegeta tried that once or twice. So, either the events change so that Cell beats everyone, or they still beat him and he likely opts to rage-quit and take Earth with him anyway.

He would be unable to breathe in space so there is a higher likelihood that he wouldn't blow himself up OR try something like that kamehameha that goku had to redirect to save the planet. 2. There is a possibility that Cell would not have a tail, so the absorbing method may change or he may not need to absorb things at all, drastically changing his design. Of course the tail DNA may not be from Frieza, maybe Gero put in some Lizard DNA or something, so this is speculation. 3. His personality overall would be different, since some aspects of Frieza can be seen in his mannerisms, perhaps he would be more barbaric, perhaps he would be less cold in his attitude, perhaps he would have a higher Saiyan DNA percentage, making him wish to fight even more. In theory, if that were the case, there is a chance he would not blow up the Earth, because he would know this would be the place where he could always get a good fight, perhaps making him more likely to leave it alone or not be as..."Evil" relatively speaking. Those are just a few thoughts in how he could be different, of course his whole look would probably change, since even in humans, something as trivial as a 0.1% gene change could change our look, if it had to do with our appearance.
@@tobiramasenju1857 To that, I'd say: 1) Cell's decision to self-destruct had nothing to do with his ability to survive in space. He knew he was going to be destroyed either way, and blew himself up to take everyone with him. He was just as surprised as anyone else to have survived, so we've no reason to believe he wouldn't have done it if he didn't think he'd survive it. 2) Cell very clearly has insectoid DNA foreign to any of the others, as well as features and abilities that none of the other fighters have. For example, None of the fighters who comprise his DNA had a straw-like tail with a singer and the ability to absorb people. Logic would dictate that this something Gero specifically engineered him to have as a mode of consuming other creatures. There's no evidence to suggest it comes from Frieza specifically, other than the fact that it's a prehensile tail, which is something Saiyans also had. 3. Is the strongest point. Without Frieza and King Cold's genes, Cell is significantly weaker, and probably less maniacal. His tendancy to blow up the planet might even be reduced, and he does likely get the majority of his evil from Frieza and Cold. But he's still a creation of Gero, and is designed to be evil and power-hungry. And might I add that Vegeta himself has self-destructed out of desperation once, and twice tried to blow up the planet out of rage when he was starting to lose. If this theoretical Cell was at a point where he couldn't become perfect or couldn't win, it's plausible for him to attempt self-destruction out of spite anyway. It's either that, or just die anyway. What you brought up is an interesting discussion, but we just don't have any actual information to go off of, so we can only go with the facts we do have. In my opinion, evidence points to Cell still being antagonistic, and still having a good chance of blowing himself up, but you're correct that the events leading up to it would be drastically different... Besides that, if Gero couldn't get his hands only Frieza's cells, he would probably just substitute them with some Hashirama Cells, and then he'd be unstoppable...
About 10 seconds in the video, I realized nobody would know instant transmission, so they’re all screwed. Such a small change makes a world of difference.
*before watching the video: Goku wouldn’t have instant transmission because he never would have got to planet yardrat because he would’ve gotten off planet namek normally and not been blown away in that direction. Therefore everyone would’ve died when cell tried to blow himself up.
in this story, goku matters as he would just make sure everyone escapes meaning, he'll try to end the androids even if his life is at risk so basically we'll end up with a piccolo alive meaning kami will be alive for a bit before being killed by the androids meaning piccolo will be dead but we will end up with a stronger gohan, but a more head-minded meaning he won't go kill himself this time, but instead go to the time chamber and train because kami will live for a long ass time, meaning gohan and piccolo will train in the time chamber but let's say the place is almost destroyed and gohan enters in the time chamber and trains for the last time before ending the androids.
8 months ago you proposed this same what if in a community post. I remember a SUPER LONG comment I left under that post and some of it may not have been accurate to the proposed What If but believe 1 change would occur in the what if. I think Gohan would NOT have choked the fight with Perfect Cell. Here's an excerpt from that comment I wrote: "Here's where another change occurs; after Gohan beats down Cell for a while maybe even to the point where Cell throws up Android 18 and reverts back to Semi Perfect Cell, Goku instead of yelling at Gohan to finish Cell from the sidelines, walks up to Gohan cautiously and places a hand on Gohan's Shoulder and asks him to end it. Gohan complains about what Cell has done to the him, his friends, the world and Piccolo. Goku says they can fix all of that and Piccolo and Tien can be brought back but making Cell suffer won't accomplish that. Gohan and agrees and they charge a Father-Son Kamehameha and kills Cell (Perfect or Semi Perfect, you can get away with Semi Perfect since the conversation isn't that long) for good. (If none of this happens and Gohan still goofs off with Cell then they'll all die and Cell will regenerate from self destruction cause Goku doesn't have Instant Transmission) Goku and Trunks survive the Cell Games. Hercule aka Mr.Satan can still say he defeated Cell by bribing the news reporter (I'm pretty sure the camera was destroyed or inoperable at this point) and everyone leaves." I think given the circumstances and stakes 3 other things happen instead of Cell's victory. Gohan, Goku or Both of them end up killing Cell. If it sounds "fan-fiction-ish" then I apologize but to me it doesn't sound too far-fetched for Goku or someone else or everyone to get through to Gohan during the fight. Edit: in the video version I forgot there's no more namekian Dragonballs so Piccolo and Tien can't come back which completely changes most of what I commented 8 months ago

I feel like King Cold would go to Earth first to get his revenge. This means the Namekians are still alive and their location is known. So when the androids kill almost everyone Bulma and Gohan could go to Namek to wish everyone back and then Goku and Gohan would probably use the time chamber to train up to beat the androids.
Hey qaaman I’m late but I want your thoughts on this, what if the manga did a mini arc or something like that and they hade piccolo go to namek and talk to the elders about his new form. Maybe he gets his hands on the old book and finds out more about himself/the form. I think that would be really cool

I always thought that if piccolo in the original timeline fused with kami him and vegeta could beat the Androids but then I remember ssj vegeta can't beat Android 18 the weakest of the 2, so piccolo would have been by himself 😔😔
Vegeta would still come to Earth, just probably taking a Saiyan space pod instead of tagging along with Goku on his ship. The reason he'd follow Goku is because he still wants to become a Super Saiyan and wants to be close by when he's ready to challenge Goku to that rematch and to also gauge Goku's energy so he knows where the goal post so he can surpass it.
While King Kai doesn't know instant transmission, he would know that King Cold killed the Namekians, meaning he'd be able to tell the z fighters. Which would allow them to train, and to use the earth dragon ball's to at least revive elder Moori, who could then try and bring back as many people as possible. This probably wouldn't fix everything, but things might not end quite as badly.

Two things come to mind: Vegeta would likely have followed Goku to earth, if not immediately then eventually, because Goku went Super Saiyan and Vegeta would want to learn how to do it himself. Without Freeza's cells, Cell likely would not have the power to transform (not just losing the ability to breath in space), which could be a crippling weakness if even if Cell still needs the androids to complete him, it would only be a straight power boost and not a transformation to acclimate to that new power, so 'Perfect Cell' will still look like original Cell and be significantly weaker.
There's also the minor possibility that without Frieza's durability, Cell is killed by the Instant Kamehameha? That idea aside, great work! Man, most what-if DB timelines just go horribly, don't they lmao.

Thinking about it im sure Vegeta wouldn't initally go with the others but he would eventually go to earth at some point and maybe settle since Goku would be there. He would probably spend sometime in space and train for awhile but his goals would still be the same to defeat Goku and be the strongest there is. So all in all Trunks will still potentially be a thing!

Well there is one possible upside to this scenario, if Frieza or King Cold don't come to Earth, Cell might not have been as evil in the Main Timeline, most of his evil nature comes from Frieza and King Cold, him pulling a Piccolo and Vegeta and becoming allies and eventually friends with Goku is much higher.

Wouldn’t cell being less durable mean that when gohan turned more than half of him to goo have killed him ? Or when goku erased his upper half or hell even vegita took out like 40% of his body
@@QaamansLand Due to being Less Durable all of those attacks are more likely to actually kill him as he would be taking more damage from the attacks like Gohan's Kamehameha might just erase Cell or Maybe even Vegeta's final flash might erase cell so its possible that Cell would actually be defeated here
Huh, come to think of it, is the rule that the Earth’s dragon balls can’t revive someone who died before or that they can’t revive any individual person twice?
How do Kami and friends gather all the dragon balls, and wish all the namekians back to life in less than 5minutes before namek explodes? That’s where you lost me.
This scenario could include another timeline in which, because Piccolo and Tien are permanently dead, Goku and Gohan might have been alot more enraged and eager to defeat Cell right away. this is already supposed to be a timeline where Saiyan lust for battle isnt getting the better of them, after all. alternatively, with no dragonballs around anywhere, Goku goes into the ROSAT a second time alongside Trunks and trains both himself and Trunks to be as powerful as possible. so if Gohan looks like he's hesitating, Goku can just jump in and end the fight himself.
Objections... Vegeta would definitely have chosen to live on Earth. Having seen Goku's Super Saiyan, his next big goal would be to surpass him, so he'd follow him to Earth.
I think it's entirely likely that Vegeta would come back to Earth. Not with them after Namek, but likely would go off to train in space to achieve Super Saiyan and come back to fight Goku.
One massive flaw in your what-if is that you didn't explain how no dragon balls on earth would affect Goku and Gohan’s motivation to train even harder to defeat Cell. Their world is now similar to Future Trunks’s, so they wouldn't train and just perfect Ss1 and be done with it, and everything ends with cell blowing up the earth.

Hey Qaaman. I've been rewatching the Saiyan Saga of DBZ, and I came across a very interesting what - if that everyone has completely skipped over. During the fight with Nappa and Vegeta, there was a moment when Vegeta got very curious about who Goku was and stopped the fight to ask if Goku was Kakarot. Once he found out, he believed that Goku was too scared to come and decided to wait 2 hours for Goku to come. And that got me to thinking, what if Vegeta never did that? Now if you're curious about my 2 cents, I personally believe that Goku would've gone Super Saiyan against Nappa, because he would've gotten there after Nappa killed everyone. I'm basing this on the fact that he went Super Saiyan against Frieza when he killed Krilliin, so why would Nappa killing both Gohan and Krillin have a different result? But that's just my guess. You're the expert so you know best.
So what if Vegeta never spared our fighters? How would you title it? Good news: I wrote it down in my notepad of topics with your name next to it. Just respond to these comments for more input

Everyone would've already been dead by the time Goku got there, making Goku get angry enough to go super saiyan against Nappa is what I personally think would've happened. But you're the expert, so you're the one that would know best what would've happened if Vegeta did NOT decide to stop the fight and wait 2 hours for Goku.
But what if ... King Kai looks for remaining Namekians and finds the one who have Granolah gos 2-Balls-Set? Or "a" trunks, fathered by Yamcha and is more into Tech & techniques than saiyan power, steps in and fulfills the original Trunks' narrative role?

Sorry Qaaman but i don't see Piccolo fusing with Kami knowing that they will loose last set of dragon balls in universe. I think they would get dragon balls and wish for power up for piccolo so they would get weeker version of Orange Piccolo but strong enough to kill androids. So no perfect cell so piccolo kill Cell too. Also you telling me that for 6-8 months no new nameckian was born on nameck? That could be revived by dragon balls? Coz they where never revived ealier.
Not just Goku's, but everyone's. How many consecutive acts of stupidity lead to the final outcome of the Cell games? On both the part of the good guys and the bad guys? Yet if you change the outcome and make it so that everyone acted rationally instead, everyone would just die later on due to the consequences of everything not getting dragged out. It's like dumb ideas and outcomes are rewarded rather than punished...
What's with your what ifs where the characters act smarter leading to a bad ending? This, Krillin icing Vegeta ect On a note with Cell: if he doesn't have Frieza or Cold's DNA he might not be so evil as to kill everyone. I say because at least when he's perfect Cell feels kind of like a Frieza knock-off. And that the other people making up his known DNA were Goku (a hero), Piccolo (a reformed villain) and Vegeta (OK not reformed yet, but he's not actively evil at the time).

King cold probably wouldn't have known where earth was. The only reason he went to earth was because Frieza told him to. And Vegeta would probably stay on earth because he would want to know how "kackarot" turned into a super sayin. Lol the guy was obsessed with Goku . So he would want to train so he could fight Goku again. And with Vegeta being around he would make them aware of king cold. And even if cold would have found earth it would have taken him much longer to deduce that the sayin that killed him was from there. There you go. A scenario with a possible happy outcome lol

Most of this is on-point with the Butterfly Effect of Goku's actions, but the Cell Saga is not.
In fact, there are 3 plot points that make the ending not work:
1. Goku killed Freiza immediately as in this story he saw him as a threat he couldn't risk doing something drastic, but he wouldn't instill this discipline in Gohan while training in the Time Chamber to beat Perfect Cell?
2. Cell would be a *lot* weaker without Frieza's DNA, so much so I'd wager that Goku could've beaten him on his own if he gave it his all.
3. Cell wouldn't blow himself up without Frieza's DNA affecting his thinking. If anything, he would act more like Saiyan Saga Vegeta: Headstrong, entitled, power hungry and egotistical, while valuing his own life over everything else. Cell would attempt a final beam struggle the moment it appears he might lose, or in the case of getting reverted to Semi-Perfect cell, he would absolutely flee in self-preservation.
It's not "fan fiction" to think that Vegeta would decide to follow the legendary Super Saiyan back to Earth. Like, at all. There's a pletora of reasons to believe he'd follow Goku, from simply beyond in awe to wanting to achieve the same power. If anything believing that Vegeta would just randomly forget that Goku is the legendary Super Saiyan he's heard and talked so much about is the real far-fetched scenario, particularly when he stays on Earth precisely to wait for him originally. If anything they'd probably end up training together(as in this scenario Vegeta would be in complete awe after witnessing so much first hand), and it's very likely Vegeta would quickly achieve the form and they'd push each other much farther than originally.

At 3:30, you point out how the most likely scenario is that King Cold will just blow up the Earth. You took that as the primary outcome, but since that dead-ended the story, you then went to the secondary and tertiary outcomes that Goku stops him, gets sick and dies, or stops him, doesn't get sick and is killed by the androids.
When the story hit another dead end, you introduced the unlikely event that Vegeta would still come to Earth, but you acknowledge that it was unlikely.
In other words, you branch off or delineate whenever the outcome for the protagonists reaches a dead end in order to create further discussion. But you do so in such a way that you acknowledge those are alternative or unlikely outcomes rather than presenting them as the most logical conclusions outright. It's kind of like branching timelines.
I hope that makes it clearer
It's an honest and logical way of going about these discussions. Other people who do these things will just editorialize it willy-nilly and invent unjustified outcomes. Which is fine if the point is to tell an interesting story. But if the point is to present a logical analysis, your method is far better.

Yes. The all sensed Frieza's approach a while in advance, so it's possible got Goku to fly around to the point where he sensed Cold and intercept. As Qaaman put in.
@@AndrewAce. Also; if Cold shows up for revenge soon enough he might be an actual challenge for Goku. He's at worse slightly weaker than 100% Namek Frieza, doesn't have his stamina issues and could exploit not needing to breathe
Mecha Frieza only existed because Frieza was still partially alive. If he was fully dead there would be no way of resurrecting him so Earth would still be safe.
Also Vegeta, now no longer under Frieza’s rule would probably find a place to train like he did to turn into a Super Saiyan for the first time and then with little else to do visit Earth at some point. Even if he starts his own army like Frieza, he will still want to visit Earth again because he already built a decent relationship with Goku and Gohan.
Then after that Android 19 and 20 are beat so Android 17 and 18 are destroyed along with that timeline’s Cell. If any version of Cell manages to time travel into the main timeline he won’t be able to ascend beyond his imperfect form and will eventually be beaten as well.

That's ignoring the fact that things in the universe only happen Because of plot armor. Both on the villains side and heros
Imperfect Cell would be a non-factor in this scenario, IMO. Most of his power came from Frieza and King Cold, since the rest of his DNA came from the characters before they went off to Namek and were still relatively weak. At best, his max-power would only be as strong as 17 and 18, meaning he wouldn't be able to absorb or overpower them if the two androids teamed up against him. As for 17 and 18, it'd depend on if 16 is still a factor, since his presence seemed to heavily alter their actions. If not, then Piccolo would have to quickly fuse with Kami and hold them off, while Goku and Gohan woud need to train in the RoSaT. If Piccolo was able to hold them off for a few hours, then Goku and Gohan would likely catch up to them in power, since it only took them less than a day to catch up to a half-serious Perfect Cell.
Knew this one would turn out to be a net negative.

I agree with most of your points, but some issues I have are:
1. I think Vegeta would eventually go back to planet Earth because he would want to learn SSJ. It was obvious surpassing Goku became his main goal and he was like a puppy waiting for Goku to come home.
2. King Cold probably wouldn’t be successful in blowing up Earth because everyone could sense them long before they got near Earth.
3. Goku probably would be stronger in base because he’d have better training than on Yardrat (wouldn’t make a difference though).
I feel like if cell didn’t get friezas AND colds dna he would be some weird different form and too weak if the fighters trained like they originally did and the androids would kill him if he didn’t absorb so many people first. But you can see the horns from cold in cells crown or the green pointed things. Mostly in his second and final or perfect form.he’s got details that scream mostly frieza. I wonder if he would look more like piccolo because the regeneration is important too it’s a key thing to cell’s durability. He would look odd I think but just doesn’t fit without frieza and cold. He’d be more like the other androids but bio and no hand like feet. Maybe more bug like and still with a beak?
I feel like vegeta would live in earth just for the reason that goku was a super saiyan and I feel he’d want to see and learn about it , i mean vegeta was searching for goku constantly in the canon timeline. But I could be wrong

Don’t forget that King Kai only mentioned that he knew Instant Transmission in the original English dub, which had a number of inaccuracies.. such as Frieza stating that he was only using 1% of his power during his fight with Goku. In other words, he doesn’t even know it in filler.

Events regarding Cell would be vastly different if Frieza was not part of his DNA, so things would be unlikely to go like how they did normally.

Good point, but even so, Cell might still just decide to blow himself and/or the world up at any point when he starts to lose. Even Vegeta tried that once or twice.
So, either the events change so that Cell beats everyone, or they still beat him and he likely opts to rage-quit and take Earth with him anyway.

1. He would be unable to breathe in space so there is a higher likelihood that he wouldn't blow himself up OR try something like that kamehameha that goku had to redirect to save the planet.
2. There is a possibility that Cell would not have a tail, so the absorbing method may change or he may not need to absorb things at all, drastically changing his design. Of course the tail DNA may not be from Frieza, maybe Gero put in some Lizard DNA or something, so this is speculation.
3. His personality overall would be different, since some aspects of Frieza can be seen in his mannerisms, perhaps he would be more barbaric, perhaps he would be less cold in his attitude, perhaps he would have a higher Saiyan DNA percentage, making him wish to fight even more. In theory, if that were the case, there is a chance he would not blow up the Earth, because he would know this would be the place where he could always get a good fight, perhaps making him more likely to leave it alone or not be as..."Evil" relatively speaking.
Those are just a few thoughts in how he could be different, of course his whole look would probably change, since even in humans, something as trivial as a 0.1% gene change could change our look, if it had to do with our appearance.

1) Cell's decision to self-destruct had nothing to do with his ability to survive in space. He knew he was going to be destroyed either way, and blew himself up to take everyone with him. He was just as surprised as anyone else to have survived, so we've no reason to believe he wouldn't have done it if he didn't think he'd survive it.
2) Cell very clearly has insectoid DNA foreign to any of the others, as well as features and abilities that none of the other fighters have. For example, None of the fighters who comprise his DNA had a straw-like tail with a singer and the ability to absorb people. Logic would dictate that this something Gero specifically engineered him to have as a mode of consuming other creatures. There's no evidence to suggest it comes from Frieza specifically, other than the fact that it's a prehensile tail, which is something Saiyans also had.
3. Is the strongest point. Without Frieza and King Cold's genes, Cell is significantly weaker, and probably less maniacal. His tendancy to blow up the planet might even be reduced, and he does likely get the majority of his evil from Frieza and Cold. But he's still a creation of Gero, and is designed to be evil and power-hungry.
And might I add that Vegeta himself has self-destructed out of desperation once, and twice tried to blow up the planet out of rage when he was starting to lose. If this theoretical Cell was at a point where he couldn't become perfect or couldn't win, it's plausible for him to attempt self-destruction out of spite anyway. It's either that, or just die anyway.
What you brought up is an interesting discussion, but we just don't have any actual information to go off of, so we can only go with the facts we do have. In my opinion, evidence points to Cell still being antagonistic, and still having a good chance of blowing himself up, but you're correct that the events leading up to it would be drastically different...
Besides that, if Gero couldn't get his hands only Frieza's cells, he would probably just substitute them with some Hashirama Cells, and then he'd be unstoppable...
About 10 seconds in the video, I realized nobody would know instant transmission, so they’re all screwed. Such a small change makes a world of difference.

Goku wouldn’t have instant transmission because he never would have got to planet yardrat because he would’ve gotten off planet namek normally and not been blown away in that direction.
Therefore everyone would’ve died when cell tried to blow himself up.
in this story, goku matters as he would just make sure everyone escapes meaning, he'll try to end the androids even if his life is at risk so basically we'll end up with a piccolo alive meaning kami will be alive for a bit before being killed by the androids meaning piccolo will be dead but we will end up with a stronger gohan, but a more head-minded meaning he won't go kill himself this time, but instead go to the time chamber and train because kami will live for a long ass time, meaning gohan and piccolo will train in the time chamber but let's say the place is almost destroyed and gohan enters in the time chamber and trains for the last time before ending the androids.
8 months ago you proposed this same what if in a community post. I remember a SUPER LONG comment I left under that post and some of it may not have been accurate to the proposed What If but believe 1 change would occur in the what if. I think Gohan would NOT have choked the fight with Perfect Cell. Here's an excerpt from that comment I wrote:
"Here's where another change occurs; after Gohan beats down Cell for a while maybe even to the point where Cell throws up Android 18 and reverts back to Semi Perfect Cell, Goku instead of yelling at Gohan to finish Cell from the sidelines, walks up to Gohan cautiously and places a hand on Gohan's Shoulder and asks him to end it. Gohan complains about what Cell has done to the him, his friends, the world and Piccolo. Goku says they can fix all of that and Piccolo and Tien can be brought back but making Cell suffer won't accomplish that. Gohan and agrees and they charge a Father-Son Kamehameha and kills Cell (Perfect or Semi Perfect, you can get away with Semi Perfect since the conversation isn't that long) for good.
(If none of this happens and Gohan still goofs off with Cell then they'll all die and Cell will regenerate from self destruction cause Goku doesn't have Instant Transmission)
Goku and Trunks survive the Cell Games. Hercule aka Mr.Satan can still say he defeated Cell by bribing the news reporter (I'm pretty sure the camera was destroyed or inoperable at this point) and everyone leaves."
I think given the circumstances and stakes 3 other things happen instead of Cell's victory. Gohan, Goku or Both of them end up killing Cell. If it sounds "fan-fiction-ish" then I apologize but to me it doesn't sound too far-fetched for Goku or someone else or everyone to get through to Gohan during the fight.
Edit: in the video version I forgot there's no more namekian Dragonballs so Piccolo and Tien can't come back which completely changes most of what I commented 8 months ago

Hey qaaman I’m late but I want your thoughts on this, what if the manga did a mini arc or something like that and they hade piccolo go to namek and talk to the elders about his new form. Maybe he gets his hands on the old book and finds out more about himself/the form. I think that would be really cool

Vegeta would still come to Earth, just probably taking a Saiyan space pod instead of tagging along with Goku on his ship. The reason he'd follow Goku is because he still wants to become a Super Saiyan and wants to be close by when he's ready to challenge Goku to that rematch and to also gauge Goku's energy so he knows where the goal post so he can surpass it.
While King Kai doesn't know instant transmission, he would know that King Cold killed the Namekians, meaning he'd be able to tell the z fighters. Which would allow them to train, and to use the earth dragon ball's to at least revive elder Moori, who could then try and bring back as many people as possible. This probably wouldn't fix everything, but things might not end quite as badly.

Two things come to mind:
Vegeta would likely have followed Goku to earth, if not immediately then eventually, because Goku went Super Saiyan and Vegeta would want to learn how to do it himself.
Without Freeza's cells, Cell likely would not have the power to transform (not just losing the ability to breath in space), which could be a crippling weakness if even if Cell still needs the androids to complete him, it would only be a straight power boost and not a transformation to acclimate to that new power, so 'Perfect Cell' will still look like original Cell and be significantly weaker.

Thinking about it im sure Vegeta wouldn't initally go with the others but he would eventually go to earth at some point and maybe settle since Goku would be there. He would probably spend sometime in space and train for awhile but his goals would still be the same to defeat Goku and be the strongest there is. So all in all Trunks will still potentially be a thing!

Well there is one possible upside to this scenario, if Frieza or King Cold don't come to Earth, Cell might not have been as evil in the Main Timeline, most of his evil nature comes from Frieza and King Cold, him pulling a Piccolo and Vegeta and becoming allies and eventually friends with Goku is much higher.

If Frieza died, then how would King Cold know about Earth? Im pretty sure the scouters were all destroyed when earth was ever mentioned on namek.
This scenario could include another timeline in which, because Piccolo and Tien are permanently dead, Goku and Gohan might have been alot more enraged and eager to defeat Cell right away. this is already supposed to be a timeline where Saiyan lust for battle isnt getting the better of them, after all.
alternatively, with no dragonballs around anywhere, Goku goes into the ROSAT a second time alongside Trunks and trains both himself and Trunks to be as powerful as possible. so if Gohan looks like he's hesitating, Goku can just jump in and end the fight himself.

Vegeta would definitely have chosen to live on Earth. Having seen Goku's Super Saiyan, his next big goal would be to surpass him, so he'd follow him to Earth.
What if Vegeta somehow got sent back in time but with all his memories as a kid?
I think it's entirely likely that Vegeta would come back to Earth. Not with them after Namek, but likely would go off to train in space to achieve Super Saiyan and come back to fight Goku.
One massive flaw in your what-if is that you didn't explain how no dragon balls on earth would affect Goku and Gohan’s motivation to train even harder to defeat Cell. Their world is now similar to Future Trunks’s, so they wouldn't train and just perfect Ss1 and be done with it, and everything ends with cell blowing up the earth.

Hey Qaaman. I've been rewatching the Saiyan Saga of DBZ, and I came across a very interesting what - if that everyone has completely skipped over.
During the fight with Nappa and Vegeta, there was a moment when Vegeta got very curious about who Goku was and stopped the fight to ask if Goku was Kakarot. Once he found out, he believed that Goku was too scared to come and decided to wait 2 hours for Goku to come. And that got me to thinking, what if Vegeta never did that?
Now if you're curious about my 2 cents, I personally believe that Goku would've gone Super Saiyan against Nappa, because he would've gotten there after Nappa killed everyone. I'm basing this on the fact that he went Super Saiyan against Frieza when he killed Krilliin, so why would Nappa killing both Gohan and Krillin have a different result?
But that's just my guess. You're the expert so you know best.
So what if Vegeta never spared our fighters? How would you title it?

Everyone would've already been dead by the time Goku got there, making Goku get angry enough to go super saiyan against Nappa is what I personally think would've happened.
But you're the expert, so you're the one that would know best what would've happened if Vegeta did NOT decide to stop the fight and wait 2 hours for Goku.

Sorry Qaaman but i don't see Piccolo fusing with Kami knowing that they will loose last set of dragon balls in universe. I think they would get dragon balls and wish for power up for piccolo so they would get weeker version of Orange Piccolo but strong enough to kill androids. So no perfect cell so piccolo kill Cell too. Also you telling me that for 6-8 months no new nameckian was born on nameck? That could be revived by dragon balls? Coz they where never revived ealier.
It's crazy that Goku's dumb ideas somehow work out in the end.

Not just Goku's, but everyone's. How many consecutive acts of stupidity lead to the final outcome of the Cell games? On both the part of the good guys and the bad guys? Yet if you change the outcome and make it so that everyone acted rationally instead, everyone would just die later on due to the consequences of everything not getting dragged out.
It's like dumb ideas and outcomes are rewarded rather than punished...

On a note with Cell: if he doesn't have Frieza or Cold's DNA he might not be so evil as to kill everyone. I say because at least when he's perfect Cell feels kind of like a Frieza knock-off. And that the other people making up his known DNA were Goku (a hero), Piccolo (a reformed villain) and Vegeta (OK not reformed yet, but he's not actively evil at the time).
It's assumed if he still aims to absorb the androids he's still evil

I just don't have it in me to believe if Semi-Perfect Cell killed Tien and Piccolo that Trunks wouldn't immediately end him much to the chagrin of Vegeta. I just think Goku and Gohan would get that point across to both of them. I think Krillin uses the remote in this situation as well.
King cold probably wouldn't have known where earth was. The only reason he went to earth was because Frieza told him to. And Vegeta would probably stay on earth because he would want to know how "kackarot" turned into a super sayin. Lol the guy was obsessed with Goku . So he would want to train so he could fight Goku again. And with Vegeta being around he would make them aware of king cold. And even if cold would have found earth it would have taken him much longer to deduce that the sayin that killed him was from there. There you go. A scenario with a possible happy outcome lol
