Hey WJ, can't get enough of these great videos! Please tell me (again lol), where are you picking up the accessory power (key on/key off), on this 2010?Thank you!
my 2010 just has regular headlight bulbs. I haven't driven at night yet since I installed the fogs - but they look like they should do a great job. My 2008 has LED headlights and fog lights and it's significantly better night vision just having the headlights even without the fogs
I assume they all have the wiring since Ford seemed to put the wiring for everything else. Do you have a civilian model or did you get a different headlight switch, because neither of mine has a fog light switch on it.
Awesome video! I had always wanted fog lights, but i never was a fan of how out of place they looked in the bumper. Saw posts about people using ford focus fog lights but wasnt pleased with how those looked either. Eventually found some housings off a junkyard vehicle that fit the bumper perfectly, yes i needed to trim off a bumper fin or two but it was definately worth it.
I know this was done a while ago but has anyone thought of using a newer crown vic or grand marquis headlight switch with the fog light wire to make a factory look?
Great question - hypothetically you could run them direct from the headlights, but for best safety and performance, they should have their own power source even if they are triggered via relay from the headlight power. Hope that helps.
You just gave me another idea. I wonder if I can install these on the bottom of my rear bumper some how, and run the positive wire into the factory positive wire for the reverse lights. That way, they would only come on when I put the transmission into reverse. I wonder what the fuse rating is for the factory reverse light circuit, and if it can handle the extra load? Did you by any chance check the current draw of these new fog lights? "Why do I need so much light when backing up?" Because I like to see. lol -Chuck
I've thought about adding some auxiliary reverse lights too since a lot of us have that "police tint" in the rear window. If I were doing it, I'd use that 50amp power in the trunk through a relay that is triggered by the reverse lights, rather than trying to split the reverse light power. That way you'll have plenty of power, no need to run that much wiring, and no risk to the reverse lights themselves.
I ran 3 wires, white, orange, and grey as outputs so that I could expand in the future without running more wires. I don't remember which is which, but one is for the fog light relay, one is for the camera relay, and one remains unused but there ready for duty if I ever add another accessory
I have an 08 Grand Marquis. The 7 in lights will not fit in my bumper. I need 6 in lights. Also what wattage lights are the best. Are yours 816 watts. I want the brightest available. Thanks.
@@kennywarren2317 I haven't done an adjustable pedal conversion. It's not something I really need. My 2008 doesn't have it (nor did my 2003) and I never needed it. My 2010 I've never adjusted. And my wife wouldn't drive my Vic if I paid her LOL
You're obsesed with LED lighting.
I mean that in a good way.
I appreciate your closeup camera work under the bumper showing the mounting brackets.
Great video bro showing how to do good installs
Thanks, will do this with Merc
I have the same car mine is CNG 2002 the same spot you put yours I put a 55-in white LED bar on my hood I have a 35-in white

there is a police power connector under the glove box area... it is shown in great detail in my keyless entry video from last week
How are the LED headlamp bulbs working out? Also have you every had to adjust the headlamps? I would appreciate a reply. Excellent video 😁👍

I just used the stock wiring and the stock fog light switch for mine. No wiring, no relay, no new switch.

How much of an improvement did they make at night? Steve
very happy with them... best I've ever installed on a vehicle

that should work - my concern would be that you might have to run your wires from the LCM though
Got these in 6 inch for my Grand Marquis. Couldn't you just splice these into your headlight wires so they would be on when your headlights are on?

What size lights would I need to go in the opening closet the end on each side of the bumper? I have a 2006 P71
Lol I put LEDs in the headlights and a 40" lightbar in the bumper....

Hmmm...
Thanks Gary.
On the switch, where do the orange and grey wires go?

Do they come as a set or a single light.
they are a set of 2 lights and mounting brackets

get on Amazon and eBay and search, there are so many options nowadays and a wide range of prices
Looks like the link to the light is broken... What was the model / brand for the light???
Looks like they are sold out... try these instead: amzn.to/2qrxKxu
Where did you get the adjustable foot pedal button
came with the car - it has adjustable pedals
@@WJHandyDad can I buy the part for my 06 Vic ?
@@kennywarren2317 you can retrofit your car, but it will take more than just the button if that's what you're asking.
@@WJHandyDad yes that’s what I’m asking I like how you work on your car
