I think he still has 4-5 more French Open titles in him. He only dropped one set throughout the entire tournament this year, still an unbeatable monster to face on clay. The other slams, I'd say maybe he has two or three more, depending on how healthy Djokovic stays LOL
To be fair, we hear the same talk about Alexander Zverev from Rafa Nadal. We can recognize talent from a young age. You can't predict a champion with certainly. All of them have nothing but the best words to describe the youngest generation of players with right now - but until any of them become anything, they'll remain prospects of our sports. There will always be a difference between aptitude and ability. What lies between them is the secret to success.
Not really the worlds best right now, it’s always been him and Roger him and Roger always at the top of the tennis game a year or 2 was Noel the 2016 was Murray but the most dominate is Roger and Nadal Overall, it’s really based on opinion.
"and one day he could be almost unbeatable". such prophetic words for a 16-year-old Nadal, proved to be true. for many years, on claycourts, he was almost unbeatable.
"He's a tough player already [at age 16] but one day he could be almost unbeatable" ~ Carlos Moya on Rafa Nadal ~ now coach to Nadal's 12th Roland Garros title
What a beautiful child Rafa... he is such a pet...inspires affection even now... speaks with a childlike honesty and frankness...sad that one has to watch him age... :-) ...
Gracias Rafa for all the incredible moments with you I may not have been able to watch all your matches but I am very grateful to see Bastad, the Olympics, the 6 Kings Slam and a bit of the Davis Cup you are my idol and Vamos Rafa !!!!!
Rafael Nadal, what can you say about the guy? On his top form just about unplayable. That forehand always reminded me of the Circus Master cracking his whip. I’ve never seen anything like it. His sheer power, accuracy, mental toughness, aggression, will to win and ruthlessness never to be seen again. A total one off is Nadal.
@@DjokovicIsOurLordAndSaviour Yeah, I don't know when this myth of Nadal having limited talent will die. One of the biggest forehands on the tour and he's not one of the best in ability? People must think you can just muscle forehands with awful timing and still not have your shoulder fall off if you 'have the right attitude'.
I love watching Rafa and really appreciate what he has brought to the game we love. Truly one of the greats and if he wins more GS than Roger some will call him the greatest ever. I don't care who is the greatest, I like all of them since I love tennis!
Participating in soccer really seem to have helped to strenghen and condition Rafa's legs. Maybe that's why he's been a beast in his movements on court over the years.
JUST FINISHED WATCHING THREE OF NADAL'S YOUNGER MATCHES. I HAVE FOLLOWED HIS SUCCESS OVER THE YEARS, HE REALLY BROUGHT FIRE TO THE GAME HE MAKES WHOMEVER HE PLAYS WORK FOR A POINT AND IF THEY FALL SHORT, IT'S OVER FOR THEM!!! STAY HEALTHY. GREAT JOB YOUNG MAN!!!
Rafa is so so so much to tennis. In my humble opinion he saved the Sport and kept it interesting for the last 13 years. Rogers done the same of course but Rafa excites in a way that just can't be measured. long may he continue. Blessed to have followed this ICON all of my adult life.👏👏👏
I don't think Roger would be as good as he is if it wasn't for Rafa. Roger was dominating easily and then this little teenager came along and started challenging him and denied him his coveted French Open crown so many times, as well as taking some other slams off him. So Federer had no choice but to get even better
MsJubjubbird I agree. Nadal has touched Federer ego and shook tennis when he arrived. I even think Nadal fighting spirit and personality has influenced the likes of Djoko and all
Wow.. this video is prophecy..our Rafa is now all time great with 20 slams.. n his 13 French open slams is greatest if not one of great in all sports let alone in tennis!! Undoubtedly it's one of epitome of human acchievements!!
Such a pragmatic teen... and so grounded...!!! Rafa Nadal - Toni Nadal top case study on how to create a high class athlete by coaching/disciplining a son/nephew... it is almost impossible for a star father/mother to duplicate star quality in their offspring... they spoil them to the extent that they become wayward... but these two people have worked out a very different chemistry... amazing. And the header in 3:13 to 3:28... amazing ... how well he does that...
How many more slams will Rafa win before he retires?
2 more french opens no more
I think he still has 4-5 more French Open titles in him. He only dropped one set throughout the entire tournament this year, still an unbeatable monster to face on clay. The other slams, I'd say maybe he has two or three more, depending on how healthy Djokovic stays LOL

Reading this just after Nadal won his 11th RG (with Moya as his coach). He was absolutely correct all those years ago..
That line pretty much summarized Nadal's entire career. Almost unbeatable. Moya predict my future too >:D

Well when they asked Rafa why arent Thiem, Zverev and co. winning GSs yet his answer was because they are not good enough :)
"and one day he could be almost unbeatable". such prophetic words for a 16-year-old Nadal, proved to be true. for many years, on claycourts, he was almost unbeatable.
he beat Federer shortly after this interview. No biggie
Nadal was 15 when he beat moya in a masters event. That probably had something to do with it.

How composed, humble and balanced was Rafa even at 16. He's truly one of the rarest gems in all of sports. Really love him ❤️
you can learn tennis skills, but you can't learn or acquire a champion's mind! Nadal is the ultimate competitor!!!
That is BS , You can actually acquire a champs mind, it’s just a change of mindset.

I'm here a day after he won the 2019 US Open, his 19th GS. 😊
