- Here are some of the best and funniest moments from Joe Swanson which I believe broadly portray the type of comedy used by his character throughout the show. The video includes insulting and making jokes about popular topics and relatable real life situations and personifying them.

Family Guy is an animated show created by Seth Macfarlane which is about the Griffin family consisting of Peter (Father), Lois (Mother), Chris (Son), Meg (Daughter), Stewie (Baby Son) and Brian (Talking Dog). Other popular characters include Joe Swanson, Cleveland Brown and Glen Quagmire (neighbours), Carter Pewterschmidt (Lois’s father), Mort Goldman (Pharmacist and family friend), Dr. Hartman, Mayor Adam West and Tom Tucker (News Anchor). The show is in a fictional city called Quahog in Rhode Island. The show is extremely famous for its cutaway scenes that often insult celebrities, politics, religion, stereotypes, cultures and other popular topics.

Joe, Quagmire, Herbert, Mayor West, and Carter Pewterschmidt are definitely the only characters who rarely stray from who they originally were.
Peter and Chris became dumber; Brian became a pretentious douchebag; Meg became a punching bag; Lois became an annoying hag; Stewie went from being oblivious and domineering to being brilliant and dominated; Cleveland became a stereotypical black man; Bonnie became one of those homicidal women you would see on Forensic Files, and Dr. Hartman became more ridiculous with the increasingly longer segments of his shtick... Yes, I do see the pun there.
And Olly Williams just disappeared out of thin air.
They've destroyed Joe and Brian. Joe used to be this very characteristic, anger-plagued police officer that is now just sad and pointless.
Brian used to be a sophisticated deep thinker, with an often wild personality, and now he is just a lying, more pretentious version of Quagmire, with none of Quagmire's positives.
