- Here are some of the best and funniest moments from Carter Pewterschmidt which I believe broadly portray the type of comedy used by his character throughout the show. The video includes insulting and making jokes about popular topics and relatable real life situations and personifying them.

Family Guy is an animated show created by Seth Macfarlane which is about the Griffin family consisting of Peter (Father), Lois (Mother), Chris (Son), Meg (Daughter), Stewie (Baby Son) and Brian (Talking Dog). Other popular characters include Joe Swanson, Cleveland Brown and Glen Quagmire (neighbours), Carter Pewterschmidt (Lois’s father), Mort Goldman (Pharmacist and family friend), Dr. Hartman, Mayor Adam West and Tom Tucker (News Anchor). The show is in a fictional city called Quahog in Rhode Island. The show is extremely famous for its cutaway scenes that often insult celebrities, politics, religion, stereotypes, cultures and other popular topics.

Unlike the show itself, Carter gets better and more likable after every season, idk why.
Probably because they run with his rich bastard character without trying to pretend he's anything more most of the time. We know the drill with Family Guy now, one of the characters (Peter, Brian, Quagmire, Lois etc) does something stupid or assholish and pisses people off. They realize they crossed the line, give this 'I'm sorry I did that, please forgive me' moment, then next episode they do the same stuff again. Carter has fun with being an asshole and loves it. And when he does have a sincere moment like when he almost was divorced from Babs, it showed that he does realize how out of touch he is and needs someone of his own age. If anything his out of touch, old fart nature works more for him still being a jerk since he's too set in his ways to not be a dick to younger/poorer people.
