Not me. I met Chevy in aspen when he was hitting Highlands, and the dude was so fucking cool. I was working at the starbucks up there at that time and gave us a 50 dollar tip on 3 drinks. This is back in the mid 2000s. So it'd be like getting close to 100 bucks. There were three of us working that day. He was nice and cool, I asked him about what he thought about the Chad Pennington contract and if he thought he's the real deal, he said "well he looks the part. He fucking looks like John Elway, but... He throws into double coverage a lot and he scrambles to much and olds onto the ball somettimes to long ".
Sure enough in 2007 season , Pennington got hurt early on.... A scramble and was sacked like 28 times.... Holding onto the ball for to long.
Yeah, so Chevy knew his shit about QBs in the NFL lol. Nice guy.
And Bill Murray conplaining about anyone's behavior is hilarious. All these comedians are the biggest assholes. It's a SNAKE business.

Chevy wasn't a medium talent, he was a deserved movie star with Goldie Hawn six years before Bill made Ghostbusters. Effective cut downs are accurate.

Well, Al Franken, Howard Stern, and Kevin Smith hate him. So Chevy can't be all that bad. Lol. He stoke Stern's shtick I guess. "Hoo hoo Kevin, I invented that. Hoo hoo..."
The audio of Stern catching him trashing him, and the gathering storm resulting from it is great. this was back when satellite TV was new. People had those huge dishes in their yards. The vieer's feed stayed up thru some shows' commercial breaks. That's how Chevy got tattled on.
Had family friends in the sticks of Massachusetts growing up, the guy had a massive 10 foot satellite in his yard that would move around randomly during the day as us kids played outside. It was cool as hell lol

I don't care how much of an asshole Chevy Chase is, I thought he was hilarious on Community, where he basically played himself.
Four examples of people with love for Chevy: Beverly D'Angelo, Laraine Newman, Norm Macdonald, Chevy's wife of 41 years Jayni. So "everybody" doesn't hate him. Garrett Morris and David Spade e.g. say they've never had a problem with him. Dana Carvey says the only person who called him to give him a pep talk when his sketch show failed was Chevy.
@@JosephScott-ct9sw Because they're pretty much all his equals. The only person Chevy doesn't like are fans which is justified I can't imagine anything worse than a fan.

I heard that John Carpenter will gladly talk about any of his movies, but if you bring up MEMOIRS OF AN INVISIBLE MAN he will shut you down real quick.
Working with Chevy Chase on that had a lasting PTSD impact on him.
Oh that's interesting. I don't think I realized it was a John Carpenter movie but it makes sense. For a comedy, it's got since philosophical things to ponder.
Ant is a national treasure
Chevy wasn't the classic angry comic. He was the guy who could be funny but resented his audience and viewed them with contempt.
There's a difference. He was a miserable guy who used comedy to use people to get what he wanted.
The angry comic or funny person genuinely cares and is frustrated by people/life/the way things are and uses humor to make sense of it and try to get people to examine why they do what they do.
You just reminded me of Stern around 93, and Billy West doing Marge Schott impression … crying laughing and not wanting to go to class to listen more.
An article said a bunch of celebrities didn't like him.
So......there you go. Clear evidence that he must be a horrible person. I mean, you hardly EVER hear of Hollywood turning on someone.....then everyone else jumping in on it.

He's definitely funny, though. Pierce was one of my favorite Community characters, second only to Britta. There were still some great episodes in the latter seasons, but killing Pierce off was really the beginning of the end.
He was great in Caddyshack. When I was a kid, I mainly cared about the Rodney and Bill Murray parts, but as I've grown I realized how subtly hysterical Chevy was as Ty. All the lines I find myself quoting are Ty lines.
They drove the Vacation movies into the ground, but the first one is still a classic. Most of the funniest parts, you couldn't even explain why they're funny. His FACE is just funny.
I don't know. Idgaf about celebrity gossip. All I ask of anyone is that they be good at their job. Chevy Chase is a funny mother. I love ya, Ant, but hating on Chase is streets behind.

There's no denying how funny Chase was in films like Vacation, Fletch, Caddy Shack, etc. Whether or not he was an ass in real life doesn't really matter to me. I liked what he did and I know my place in the entertainment world. I'm just a fan.

Chevy was funny for a period of time. Played out. His funny stuff will always be funny. Sorry if that makes anyone mad. I don't particularly find O&A funny but Ant together with certain guests are funny AF. Sometimes that's just the way it goes.
O&A is hysterical, even at its lowest it was still comedic gold.

Nah, some of the early days with Jimmy and certainly the stuff before he came around is only nostalgia-fodder at this point. Super dated. Especially the current events discussion which is NOT a given because they did hilarious stuff with current event stories later. Even the golden years of O&A isn't 'polished' radio but it's great stuff.
