I used to like Stern on regular radio. But Opie and Anythony where always my fav. Now it is just Anthony, so you know who is the real king of radio, keep it up Anthony.

Stern is obviously way richer, popular and successful but he's also brutally annoying, hated by anyone who worked with him and quite possibly the least funny "jock/funnyman" in history.

Anthony actually got on the stern show with one of Stern's contests. He was in Stern's studio on the air talking. Of course stern had no idea who he was.

I started listening to Anthony about a year ago. SO funny. Love Anthony. Saw him live at Governors. Amazing
Funniest comedian to ever not consider himself a comedian. Talented in both music and impressions as well. I don't think he gets nearly as much praise as he should. The way people view Patrice, I hope they view Ant the same way when he's gone.

Except Stern was legitimately threatened by O and A, he proved it MULTIPLE times. Howard was never actually funny, he was just a good host and had balls (neutered by liberalism though). Cumia was/is a good host, IS actually funny, AND has balls.

Howard needed a team around him, plus a wack pack and other oddballs to be funny. Anthony can create funny out of thin air and keep you entertained with his monologues on just about anything.

Anthony, you are the best. I have so much respect for you and the fact you held your ground when that unfortunate business came about. However, as much as I feel you Opie and Jimmy need to get back together, now is not the time. This "break" was needed. Opie, whom I love just as much, needs to work on some issues. This space is necessary. Steam needs to blown off. I'm 31 and I found out that the closer you are to someone, the worst the fights are. Idk when the right time will be, only you 3 will know that. Until then, I will support all of you guys and wish you all the best.

Howard became Imus in everyway, exactly. SCARED AFRAID the whole time O and A were going to do to them what Howard did to many DJ's. If O and A went somewhere else they might have overtaken Howard. Howard had most of his comedy sent over computer or notes from actual comedians.
A remake of the whole murdering of a Stern look a like is a comedy video that should be done yesterday.

I agree with Ian that Stern is a has-been. But Anthony is the future? They're both undeniably on the backside of their careers. Even this kind of radio is on its way out. People in the 20s and 30s really don't listen to this kind of programing anymore.

So this is like five years ago. I guess this book has hit a few skids, and now there is rumors it's going to happen. There should be a book about the publishing of the book that has taken five years to arrive and why.

I've been a Stern fan since the mid 90's. His show has DRASTICALLY declined in quality and humor. And theres no doubt about it, Howard was scared of O&A. Theres no denying it, he did not want to battle them. He knew that he would be outwitted by them.....especially Anthony. Opie wasn't really a threat, but Howard was definitely afraid to go to war with Anthony. Thats why he basically refused to mention O&A on his show.
For years and years, Howard made his name by taking down other radio guys and making them look and sound stupid. He wouldn't hesitate to go after anyone who took a shot at him. But for some reason, he clammed up when O&A started to take shots at him. Why didn't he fire back and go on attack like he had done every other time? Well....its obvious that he knew it was a battle the he would lose. Anthony would beat him in a battle of wits 10 times out of 10. And thats why Howard completely ignored all their verbal jabs and just worked behind the scenes to get them to shut up.
Anyhow, I still listen to the Stern show even though theres limited entertainment value left in the show. I think its just become a part of my life and I listen to it to pass time at work. In the past, I would never admit that O&A were better than Stern, but now that I'm not a child anymore who blindly follows a radio guy...I can honestly say that the O&A show was better on so many levels. I often go back and listen to old O&A shows and realize just how great they were. While Stern was declining in the early 2000's, O&A were on top of their game. And thats why Howard was panicking and didn't want to go head to head with them.

The Sinatra story is true, but it wasn't Sinatra. It was a mob boss who wanted a hit on Howard because he said something about his daughter. The mob boss called it off after he calmed down. I think the story was told on Howard by someone, I just don't remember who. Henry Hill maybe?
