Imagine if they really made a Ghost Files movie. Ryan’s accident as a child falling from the tree would be a good opening scene.
@@nharber9837 I can see this vividly in my head rn
the red border around the thumbnail makes it look like i’ve already watched the video, and i fall for it every time.
yeah they need to fix that 😅
i thought i was the only one... lol
We've been telling them 😭 idk if they care about it at this point
Steven gently expressing his concern for Ryan ghost hunting 🥺😭
the topics going from 'introducing meredith' to 'is anyone capable of murder' is class, just simply amazing
literally like who does it like them
I'm always a little bummed when the OG gang isn't all together on the pod but Meredith was such a great addition today! Loved her perspective on the company and honestly life in general. 10/10 as always!
Eh I’m pretty lukewarm on most of the guests they bring in, this one included. Ryan and Shane play off each other so well and somehow Stephen works well with them as the boring straight-man character. They really need all three to make the show work
@@jarnold1789I agree for the most part, but saying Steven is the boring straight-man character is WILD
@@alexvancini2155 You don’t think he plays the straight man in their trio? I don’t that’s that wild of a take lol
@@jarnold1789because he’s asian. shane is the only white person in the trio.
"We need more listeners on spotify and apple podcasts"
*shows a dancing video with no sound*
xD I love these guys
literally made me come home from my walk and watch that part of the video so ig they got a view and a listen out of me because of it 😔
I thought the same thing when like, in the first minute, they were talkin about how the merch looked.
Employee only podcast sounds pretty rad. The staff can talk shit about the boss, which will eventually turn into a scheming, coup then finally world domination
Just lost a friend last week from a car accident. Ryan’s story is just a reminder of how fragile life is. Everyone stay safe. Don’t take unnecessary risks.
I'm so sorry for your loss
So very sorry for your loss! Sadly drivers today are tragically distracted! It’s disheartening it’s so very bad!
Ryan calling children an etch-a-sketch is so spot on
I call the younger kids cocofelons
“oh not ballet you’ll hate yourself” true. too true, good luck in your training !!
I was in ballet as a kid and this is way too true
I'm listening while working/crochet. I recommend crochet. It's a craft that can't be replicated by a machine and makes a thoughtful gift. 😊
I tend to enjoy the episodes with the "OG 3" more than ones with guest appearances, but that said, Meredith is so articulate, funny, and charismatic, she was a perfect addition and I hope we see more of her in front of the camera! Also, depending on how much you believe in the multiverse theory, maybe there's a universe where that accident was the picture-wrap on the old Bergoose, but I am glad it's not this universe and Ryan is alive and well.
Can confirm i stopped listening on spotify because of all the visuals yall do.
Same. It is impossible to just listen to this show. Everything watcher does is all visual.
@@jessiegowen9020 the irony of them calling their channel Watcher. And trying to have a successful audio podcast only 😅. Specifically with what you said.
They’re great to have on the tv or laptop or phone while doing something else like chores or art, so you can listen but if they have visuals you can look real quick
yeah i listen on my phone at work and i choose youtube so i can unlock it and go back when they do a visual thing. its actually a minor pet peeve of mine tbh, almost every single youtuber podcast i listen to has this problem of using visual topics or even just gestures to explain themselves instead of words. i still listen so it doesnt bother me too bad, but i definitely notice!
Aww, I get you guys trying to advocate for the podcast listening options but of course we all prefer the RUclips version. We get to see your beautiful faces every Monday!
(also my adhd makes it impossible to focus on what you guys are saying if I just have the audio format but that's neither here nor there)
I tried looking for u guys in pod watcher and couldnt find it.
Mood
I would absolutely pay actual dollars to watch Meredith box Ryan 😂 she's so lovely and I just want her to be happy!
i love yall bringing on other people who work more behind the scenes at watcher, meredith seems awesome
i love meredith!!! she’s so funny and so good at conversing on camera which ik can’t always be easy!! // ryan your not dead it’s cool // need the dance off ep and an all employees ep!!
I too have barrel rolled a car (a 2008 Chevy Impala) and it landed upside down. The airbags never went off, but somehow I was unharmed. That kind of near-death experience really does stick with you for life. 5 years later I still get PTSD when driving in icy weather conditions...lesson learned not to test the elements.
How is that near death? I mean is any accident near death?
@Thebogeybro did you listen to the podcast? Do you not consider Ryan's similar accident "near-death" like he does? Neither he or I are talking about a lil fender-bender here. I rolled my car over and upside down into a ditch. I was told by first responders that it's a miracle I wasn't hurt. Ryan got lucky too. I'm assuming you've never been in a serious car accident, which is a good thing. But it isn't your place to diminish the severity of someone's traumatic and dangerous experience.
Airbags are not an easy hit, especially steering wheel airbags for head on collisions. Nothing about Ryan’s story sounds like the airbags should have deployed, especially in a 2003 vehicle!
The life advice Steven dropped about creating office culture was so unexpected but really great to hear at this point in my life
This is my gift for working hard in class today
Airbags deploy for head-on collisions only. Since Ryan hit a curb with the tires, not the body of the car, the air bag sensor was not activated.
I love that Ryan grew his hair out & kept it. He looks great 🎉🎉🎉 Meredith & Steven are pretty too 🎉🎉🎉
As a passionate scrapbooker I loved hearing Meredith's perspective on physical/tangible hobbies. It's a great outlet for my creativity and desire to make things exactly as I want. Plus who knows when the internet will vanish forever lol
We need a Watcher dance Battle series!!!! I would watch the heck out of that show!!!
anyone else love meredith’s motor oil mug 😭
I literally looked it up as soon as I noticed it to see if I could get one.
Yes same here! I also looked it up only to be sad at the price 😢
I almost died when my apartment caught fire.
Its was an electrical fire that started in the basement/laundry area. 5 stories directly under me. It happened in the early morning(4-5 am) and me and my wife worked night shift at that time together. We are normally not home. I went home early because i worked all day at my other job and needed to sleep before my next shift.( I was in my 20s and had 3 jobs at this point) again we are normally not home and my neighbors knew that. And told the firefighters that so they didn't even check my apartment. I was in there sleeping. The fire started. I wake up to a smoke filled place, alarms, cats i cant get ahold of to save and on top of that i had a chinchilla in a cage. I eventually panic because i cant see or breathe. I center myself some to remember where i am in the apartment. I can't make it out at this point as well so i throw a chair threw my living room window and i just make my way to the windows in my bedroom. Open it stick my head/part of my body out and start screaming. I eventually past out from smoke inhalation. While i was out hanging out a window about to actually fall out of it the firefighters "searched" the building for people, "searched" it again for animals, all while not even checking my apartment and what i found out later was only our apartment mainly(top floor) that got all the smoke and it only got my side of the floor our neighbors side was untouched. So i wake up just barely holding on to the furnace under the window. Literally about to fall out. I wake up from I kid you not a vision of me being handed my soon to be born child for the first time.(Wow) There were firefighters under me breaking the windows to the basement to help fight the fire and didn't notice i was above them hanging out the window. I tried to scream to them but my voice was gone. So i dropped a alarm clock on there heads(like come on wake up there are still people in here.lol) They came up so fast and grabbed me by the arms I didn't even touch a step on the way down. Went to the hospital and was about to be put in and iron lung before i started to fight it and get better.
The firefighters had a serious mistake on there hands. They shouldn't have just listened to the neighbors and because they did i almost died and we lost our 2 cats,a chinchilla, a job(because they didn't believe me at first), and everything else we owned.
I am so happy that you made it out alive ❤
Listened to this while planting in my garden 🌱
Meredith has validated my Warhammer miniature addic--collection.
i love steven joking abt being a strict boss it's so funny
Listening to you guys describing your impeccable, mutually beneficial work environment was kind of depressing and uplifting at the same time. As a postal worker, I can understand now (after listening to your description) why Millennials and “Zillennials” quit aggressively at our station and others in the city. I’m happy to hear that younger peeps aren’t tolerating workplace abuses, but I’m depressed to realize that I’ve missed out on a decent work/life balance most of my life (I’m GenX). Please keep making the world a better place, you guys. Thank you, Watcher! You guys have pulled me through some very tough days. ❤
i’d really enjoy an employee episode of the podcast! everyone you’ve brought on have been so charming and fun to listen to
1:15:00 ryan your movie tickets faded because they are laser printed! laser print only lasts like 4ish years tops, especially when it’s coming from the movies where they use cheap laser printers!
I have a concert ticket that readable but super faded
Maybe don't put a red border on your thumbnail, I saw it and thought I already watched it
Not a bad idea. Never noticed until now, but it does look like the youtube red line.
I've seen this on a few channels..don't get it 😂
it was a test. you passed. you are a true fan.
My issue with Ryan's declaration is equating killing with being a "horrible, horrible thing" 100% of the time. There's definitely a case-by-case argument for killing being the more merciful/moral option in a scenario. Cold-blooded murder of an innocent person is different from shooting someone holding your family hostage is different from mercy-killing someone in pain who will inevitably die anyway.
There is in fact a difference between killing and murder. At least in our everyday language. Murder neccessitates premeditation, while simply killing does not.
@@suski_dusk the scenarios I presented (and the one presented by Ryan) are all premeditated and therefore technically murder, though. You're not going to accidentally shoot the guy holding your family hostage.
100%. Cold-blooded murder? No. But some murderer breaks into my house and is trying to axe my loved ones, absolutely no doubt whatsoever and I don't feel bad saying it (and I admittedly struggle to understand the viewpoint of those who say they definitely wouldn't. I used doubt a bit if I could physically make myself do it...until an event happened in my teens that made that hypothetical very, very real and personal. After that? Oh absolutely).
i would LOVE an employee only episode . meredith is so funny and charming and it would be really interesting to see the dynamic amongst the employees . but ofc only if theyre cool w it !!
I crashed on the freeway when I was 18, and my car rolled 3 times. I'm 30 now and still have dreams about crashing every month. It's crazy how those things stick with you!
Love Meredith! The dance battle idea with each of the founders is sooo good please do it!!
Having Meredith on the podcast was so nice, she’s got such an eloquent way of speaking and such a deep thought process. It was fun to listen to
*Please* pokemon-train Ryan, Shane, and Steven for a dance-off battle 😂
It's Ryan's world, we're literally just figments of his imagination living it it
I was worried this episode won't drop today cause of the long weekend, but it's here just in time for my lunch break! :')
Long weekend?
@@amyblackwood2259 Easter sunday :)
You say your podcast listening options need more subs, but your company name is literally “Watcher”. Maybe if you called it “Listener” you’d have better numbers on those platforms. 😂
😂😂
byeee 😭😭💀
"Listener: A Watcher Podcast"
💀💀
They shouldve do this for april mop 😩
We need a Watcher baking segment! I want to learn to make stuff with you guys!
Meredith’s topic was such a treat, because I too think about this all the time. Learning a new skill and making something physical is so rewarding! Even when I’m terrible at something, I can look at my crappy little creation and be like man, I had fun!
Ryan, you should get a book light! It attaches to the book directly!
love how ryan made himself into the Paul Is Dead 1966 theory 😭😭 you’re not dead ryan & we’re all grateful you made it out safely!!
Meridith is so cool. All the people of Watcher, behind and in front of the camera are absolutely such interesting, cool people. Thanks for letting us know about them thorugh this podcast!!
Meredith was an absolute delight and I hope you guys include her in more of the channel shenanigans. The bit at the end where Meredith was talking about "physical hobbies" (which I thought maybe a better term would be "material hobbies" or "tangible hobbies" but that's beside the point) sent me into a mini existential crisis, but also gave me a lot of hope for the future, so thank you Meredith!
P.S. I would LOVE to see a Watcher company dance-off or something similar!!
When I was 7 years old, I had bad anxiety and had to get my appendix removed. I knew what surgery was, so when they told me I had to have surgery, I started crying and worrying that I wasn’t going to wake up but be in a dream state. Even after I had surgery, sometimes I would ask my mom if I was still in the hospital.
I have a similar experience to Ryan. Me (and some college friends at the time) got into a wicked car crash, and I swear for years after I (and some others) wondered if we died that day. We didn't and I'm grateful to still be alive but I now am pretty existential in general
posted just in time! 🙌 I’ll listen to this while I bake my apple pie! 🥧
What time should we be over? 😄😋🍴
I'm listening while I bake sourdough goodies!
What a timely comment for the third topic they discuss in this ep!!
Listening to the end of this, thinking of physical hobbies, could combine quite a few of those ideas with Junk Journaling. I make physical books, decorations, paper, so on. Then can put in anything. Like a scrapbook but more personalized and ability to write in them as well. Should for sure check it out if anyone is interested. It's a rabbit hole with so much variation.
I can't wake myself up from a nightmare. But I can tell myself while in a dream, if it is getting too intense or too scary, that its just a dream.
absolutely NEED a watcher dance battle
i was gifted a coffee mug with a quote i once said at work: "i'm the best dancer here and that's just sad"
i just want to say i really love hearing about how you all are such good friends behind the camera and not like the other companies where every pay grade if you will is so seperated and divided, i love the comradery and i believe it really plays a huge role in your videos and stuff you put out there because it is always so excellent, love you all and always love your content, keep up the amazing work you do :D
I sometimes get stress dreams that make me talk in my sleep, and early into my relationship with my SO, he woke up to me telling a dog at the daycare we worked at to stop eating poop.
I have a lot of physical hobbies and they bring me so much joy and satisfaction. I like them so much that even though I love reading I'd rather listen to an audiobook while crafting then have the physical book anymore.
In light of recent events, would just like to point out: 1. Congrats, you have just made a decision that will make your RUclips viewership even unhealthier. 2. Maybe watcher's financial woes comes less from youtube being a burden then your staff mismanagement and disinterest in being a boss and making the decisions that come along with that title
tbf I think the problem with thinking "oh in the future we won't own our digital content and it could go away forever" is that /everything/ could go away forever
there could be a huge natural disaster and you can lose all of those physical things you have too, but then those digital things would still remain on the cloud
it can happen either way, and I used to struggle with thinking that way a lot when I was a kid
I would be playing with my barbies and suddenly think "some day I won't enjoy this anymore, what even is the point right now?" and I wouldn't receive fulfillment from playing in that moment
it's only once I got past that sort of thinking of "this could go away forever" that I could actually enjoy things
because EVERYTHING will eventually be gone forever
and that's okay
we can enjoy it now
Meredith's topic about physical hobbies is so interesting and underrated. It's incredibly frightening to think about the things we think are so normal (photos, digital songs, digital word) just disappearing, but it's so important. Take up a hobby, and if it produces something tangible, gift them to your friends!
Meredith was great, but where's Shane??!!!
Meredith has such a way with words. I always love hearing from her!
So funny to listen to talking about needing physical hobbies. I’m a crafter an often have Watcher playing while I paint, or sew, or work on other various projects. Besides the suggestion of something that “goes away,” something useful is even more rewarding. Custom painting a container for the kitchen, making a quilt to use every night, etc. I don’t need clutter, but I can always make something useful more personal.
On the topic of ghost files merch, it'd be cool for them to sell mini water guns for Boogaras :)
Listening to the pod is my favorite way to kick off the work week.
Meredith is a Queen! I’d even be listening podcasts with her only, she’s so interesting and eloquent
My tickets also list ink and it’s terrible. Dark Knight and Inception were a whole experience though.
By the way, there is a theory called Quantum Death in which everytime you come to a moment you should die, your conscience switches to another parallel dimension where you survived and you die in the past dimension. As an interesting idea, you kind of just keep doing that for infinitum!
Love the show! If Matt shows up on the employee podcast episode, I'm down! 🤘
Listening to this while I work ❤
I wait a long time and watch the podcast back to back like a psycho. But I totally understand the physical hobby topic!! I recently picked up crochet and painting ceramics and not only do I love doing them for myself but making blankets is my friends and family’s favorite color or ceramics in their likeness is so rewarding
Meredith is awesome! Always enjoy her appearances and content additions to Watcher 🧡
the episode is really giving the cool room at a party at 1am
I wish I could find somewhere to work like watcher. My job is so toxic and im treated so poorly…
I love the Henson shaving sponsor. We need more companies that make a product to last.
28:07 Ryan talking about the brick story, I could've sworn he alluded to this way back in BuzzFeed Unsolved, but geez that's horrible
You can own the skill, though, Meredith. So even if all the evidence of it is gone, you’ll still be able to dance
more meredith and physical hobby ep with the employees just doin crafts
Just want to justify Ryan a bit, I also tried collecting all my movie stubs and put them down in a photo album, stored on a bookshelf away from light. Unfortunately some of the older ones are pretty faded because despite trying to preserve them, the thermal paper that most movie ticket stubs are printed on will fade no matter what.
On a separate note, I know it's much better for the environment, but it does make me sad that reserving a ticket online means no printed ticket to keep most of the time 🥲 not just for movies but live theater, concerts, sports events etc.
I'm subscribed and watch both podcasts every week.
Re: physical hobbies
I sew and crochet and I love that I then have what I've created. Also, I print pictures out for my kids to look at in photo albums and buy movies we like on dvd so that we have them if they're removed from streaming.
Their outro music is so catchy and cute lol
There I went and subscribed to all of the watcher stuff on Spotify 😂😂
I love listening to this podcast while in traffic 😂
Yes I want an employee only episode as long as they actually tell some crazy stories 😂
Love everything you guys do. 😊
Crew episode sounds like a laugh🎉
Love the addition of the video chapters in the watch bar!
This is my fav!
Okay I really want to start taking more pics of my friends and make them lil scrapbooks now that’s such an awesome fun idea!!
It’s crazy how much I relate to Meredith, more of her pls. I’m also a do everything girl, really strong big kid, I learn sm from my 4 siblings, don’t have a dad but my bro is 6’7" and since I was young I have always been able to wake myself in a nightmare which was the crazy part she said that, only thing is, she is much much more chill and cooler than me
I like watching this on youtube.
I honestly watch the podcast because the visuals are so great but I am so dedicated to supporting yall I play it on my phone via Spotify at the same time (on silent) so you get both my stats ❤ hope the volume thing doesn’t affect your listener stats lol
I don't know where Shane is, and I miss him, but Meredith is awesome. ❤
I don't know about other platforms but I know Spotify has a video option.
omg i wanna see meredith's goodreads. i think she's one of the coolest people on the team 💖
i would love an all employees episode!! meredith was a great addition to the pod squad :-)

That near death experience is very similar to a situation a close friend of mine and my sister ran into, they were driving my Honda Accord, and hydroplaned but instead of barrel rolling, they rammed straight into the guard rail. Sure enough, the airbags didn't go off for them either, but they're ok now, crazy how close the two are in similarity!
The apple thing. I have aphantasia too. I can't picture anything in my mind at all and I don't have an inner voice. Nice and quiet
So cool that you guys are talking about this on the pod! If you guys are still around in 5 or so years (which I don’t doubt) it’s definitely a dream for me to go out and work with you guys
…nvm
