This podcast, specifically listening to Ryan talking about his anxiety really helps me feel not alone around the weird things i do - like feeling guilty for being awake after 1am

Add to that "Abraham Licoln - Vampire slayer" (movie & book). It's the same thing with my vivid dreams, they seem very unique at first look, but whenever I take them apart, I realize what the influences were.

ryan and shane's high stories are so well told they have me crying laughing ...my worst high story was when i forgot i had a dinner with my two friends, took an edible, went to the pho restaurant and felt like i was levitating above myself for the next two hours. when i closed my eyes i could see an amusement park and i was on a roller coaster (which i hate), and every ten minutes of me sitting silently with my head in my hands I'd look up and tell my friends "i'm so sorry" before becoming catatonic again....anyways i don't smoke anymore LOL

Ethan, FANTASTIC job on Mystery Files! You can really see the cohesive vision in the final products. It flows so well and is tonally consistent and perfectly paced. I don't know much about editing but I can imagine how much work that is and how discerning you have to be in the process. Glad they have you on the job!

I would be VERY interested to see a dream segment every week. Also, isn’t that so fascinating that when a lot people have lucid dreams or have good dreams, they feel like flying or are flying? Almost like they’re weightless and have control over it? It’s so interesting.
I have a fear of heights lol, but when I lucid dream, I can teleport!
Even more confirmation that Shane is my twin, Fortnite is what games like COD often forget: it’s supposed to be funny goofy times with the boys.

I LOVE people describing weird dreams. It definitely needs to be a regular on the pod when they happen. My fave weird dream I had was that there was a "haunted" house down the street that I was trying to buy to sell out to people who believe in ghosts but then Post Malone bought it before I could.

i’m the same ryan! i have awful nightmares 90-95% of the time, and i dream almost every night. and at least once or twice a night i get awful anxiety dreams. and i wake up 2-4 times EVERY nights. no idea why
As the first comment I just wanna say this show is the joy of my week. It's what I watch when I want to calm myself down.
What I love the most about their content is the friendship emanating from the randomness of their interactions. This podcast iteration with it's chill nature is pretty much the epitome of everything I loved about Unsolved and now about Watcher.

YES!!! Ever since Shane mentioned that he played Fortnite, I wanted it to be his topic and I’m SO happy he finally did it! That dream was certainly… something, but it was such a joy hearing Shane explain how he got into it, how he plays and why enjoys it, and also how everyone should play it!! I absolutely agree about everything he said because Fortnite is honestly one of my favorite games and it was wonderful to hear his thoughts on it. Thank you, Shane! Now I wonder what he thinks of the new experiences they added in the past week 🤔
I have out-of-control-driving nightmares sometimes-- once or twice a year or so maybe, but instead of not being able to stop it's usually either like just going too fast and spinning out when i turn so i smash into buildings and stuff or driving into areas that are more and more flooded until I'm basically driving into a swamp and no matter where i drive there's just more water.
ugh these are the worst i get them all the time they feel too real lol

The airplane story rivals the “Link gets an orbee stuck in his ear” episode of GMM in its ability to make me cry laughing. I will be returning to this episode in many years to come, my god.
As a parent of twins I FEEL THE NEED to make them their own humans. I hate when people compare them to each other. They are two vastly different people. If I had a twin I’d emotionally die. But they like it, they also don’t know life any differently though.
As a twin, there is a lot of trauma and self identity issues that come with the package. That being said, no one understands me more than my twin sister. She struggles with the same things I do, simply because of how other people treated us. It's not too bad, all things considered.
A theory; the dream realm has multiple functions: 1, a place for the subconscious to create a scene as a form of communication to the conscious. 2, where people that have died can visit you. 3, access to other worlds or dimensions.
This is the first podcast I have caught from the beginning and I just love it! 😊

That conversation about dreams blew my mind because I've been having the same god damn dream about being in college and forgetting that I was suppose to be in a particular class. Also with the dream about a tooth falling out but I've been told that type of dream is actually a bad omen meaning someone in your life might pass away and the last time I had that dream my dad did pass away. Idk if it's just coincidence but it's crazy.
I dream like mostly nightmares, almost always remember them and they are extremely vivid and narrative driven every time. My most frequent dreams are chase dreams!
I’ve always been a frequent lucid dreamer and in recent dreams I’m telling my family about the previous dream but in another dream to the point it’s a bit confusing when I wake up whether they actually heard it or not. One of my nice dreams I’ll always remember was one where I was running around my front yard but I felt weightless, like the running wasn’t straining me at all my breathing wasn’t sped up it was such a peaceful feeling.
No Lazy Acres updates this week, but we got about 45 minutes of dream and sleep talk, so it's cool
The description of Shane lucid dreaming and starting to fly was pretty amazing 🤩 I also did that and specifically the fact that he felt the air! Wow! That’s my favorite feeling while lucid dreaming
I had a sister two years apart (younger) and we were dressed like twins when we were little. Being so close to age, we were compared a lot. She was very loud and I was shy. I can’t imagine how bad it would’ve been if we were actually twins.

My worst dreams are i see my bedroom door and it starts to turn. I always wake up but it takes me a couple seconds to fully come out of it lol.

I used to have recurring dreams during grad school about having an exam to get to. I could see the building but could never get there. I also have had dreams about being in show. Getting to the theater but not knowing what the show is.

i often have the "brakes don't work" dream, although for me it's not as dramatic, the brakes are just way weaker. HOWEVER i'm so used to having these dreams that i recently had a bit of a meta-dream where the brakes didn't work and then, in the dream, i thought, "this is so crazy, i've always dreamed about this and now it's actually happening!"
Duuuude the Man of the House reference made my day! I used to have such a huge crush on JTT back when I was nine years old and I think I've seen that movie about 10 times. I got the reference immediately!

This has become my peaceful day off activity, where I play puzzles on my phone with this on the computer.
I have the "I didn't go to class all semester" dream, but I always have the conviction in my mind that I can go ace the final exam somehow without ever seeing the material, if only I could find the room. Then I can't find the room.
I learned how to lucid dream when I was a kid bc I had terrible nightmares. It does get exhausting to do it all the time, so mostly I just let my dreams play out naturally
I have a sleepwalking problem (knock on wood, it hasn't been happening lately) and it is fucking exhausting. I remember most of it usually, which is apparently odd, and it's just traumatizing to "wake up" and slooowly realize I've been staring at my husband's face and "seeing" a different person and wondering who the fuck he is. And who the fuck I am. Then I get to spend the rest of the day sleepy!

The lucid dream Shane described, about knowing it’s a dream but being sluggish and heavy on the floor etc?! I had like… a two-year period of time where I was having this exact dream and it was SO weird to hear someone describe it out loud… I’ve never talked about it, but I’d just wake up and think “welp, that one again”
I’m a twin, but we never had our own secret language or bashed anyone up with hammers 😂
Honestly, it’s good and bad. We get along well. We’re 39 and still have an apartment together. When I came out at transgender, she was the first to accept me. (She’s not transgender.) We spend a lot of time together, but not to a weird level. It was kind of rough growing up, though. People treated us like the same person, making us share things, that normally everybody would get their own of. It’s also sibling rivalry to the max. People let us know constantly from a very early age that I was the fat twin, I was the smart twin, she was the charismatic twin, she was the athletic twin, etc.
1:03:34 This actually happened to my parents about a week ago! Luckily it was while they were about to head out of the parking lot, though.
I notice a stark contrast between my dreams when taking my adhd meds and without. Once I started taking it I had no idea my dreams could be so…normal. Such a lack of being vivid every single night. A lack of waking up a couple times per night because of my wild nightmares and vivid dreams.
But like last night I’ve been out of my dextro, I had a dream of my neighbor who I’ve never actually met, and I went to his house and he was teaching me yoga. Which is weird considering he’s on a walker.
Can’t wait for my meds to be refilled 😂

your discussion of twins was so fascinating and funny as always. when i was an elementary school teacher two of my students were twins and one wore red and the other wore blue everyday, so that other people could tell them apart. if i accidentally called one of them by the wrong name the Entire Class would always remind me "A wears red, B wears blue" it was very funny
Professor making fun of you being late reminds me of the Irish student in the 80s who had a shiny, silver or gold suit and turned up late to a lecture. The professor just stopped and watched him find a seat, sit down, and asked "trouble with the spaceship?" haha
