Also a slap back at haters as their music was often called NOISY or Construction Music. Race cars...... the battle within K-pop to be the best and come out on top.

I LOVE the theme of this MV.
The security guard was disrespecting them by DOODLING all over them in the newspaper. This angered SKZ and caused them to break the 4 th wall and arrive in their hellevator to right the wrong. CHANS sweater is covered in DOODLES.
The boys morphing into each other stamps we are one. One for all, all for one. Mess with one, you mess with us all.
I also love the fact that it is the music that blasts him through the wall and the floor. SKZ replied to their haters the best way they can, their music.
If you notice no matter where the guard tried to escape to..... through exit doors, he couldn't get away. That is because there is NO EXIT, once you are in, you are here to STAY.
At the end the new security guard is TABLO from EPIK HIGH. The crossword said Next 'X'? Next Collab is SKZ X TABLO.
Recently Epik High did a collab with Seventeens HOSHI. Interestingly Tablo"s wife's favourite IDOL group is StrayKids. His daughters favourite groups are StrayKids, Seventeen and BTS. I can see a trend 😂

And if you go live performances.... I highly recommend seeing the performances from the KINGDOM show.... it's a must see. A show where several bands battle each other..... and guess who wins).

Okay so first of all, I’m going to just say that most Stays are fine with constructive criticism, and even if you don’t like something as long as you’re respectful (which you were) you’ll be fine, we’d prefer honesty anyway so we can give you good recommendations 😊
Now here’s 5 songs I recommend based on your feedback:
*social path ft. Lisa - it’s a great collaboration and definitely gives off those anime vibes thanks to Lisa and the MV is great.
*Red lights MV - this one is just Bang Chan and Hyunjin, so there’s less going on vocally and you can really pay attention to those two members.
*Drive - this is just Lee Know and Bang Chan, it’s got very different vibes and is kind of giving post Malone iykyk.
*Surfin MV - this one is Felix, Changbin and Lee Know, and despite being some of the strongest and loudest voices in stray kids, it gives off very up beat, fun summer energy.
*Cover Me (colour coded lyric video) - this is a slower song, with really really pretty vocals, and all members, it’s a good way to see how they can blend their voices and harmonise well in a completely different style.
*And a bonus song, Super Bowl, not the Japanese version - this song is entirely in english, so it might help you get a feel for them better since you’ll be able to understand all the lyrics.
Answering some questions:
*in the start of mega verse the guard is drawing/graffiti on the pictures of stray kids in the newspaper, I feel like this is symbolic of some of the disrespect from haters, and maybe even other people in the music industry,when they’re in the elevator you can see the doodles all over Bang Chans hoodie, they’re basically saying like say what you want about us but we’ll eff you up with our music, because we keep getting better, gaining fans, winning awards etc. like stay mad. And in the end it was all in his head because the haters are the ones actively thinking about them like it’s a one sided thing.
* the crossword at the end of mega verse had the title “the next ‘x’?” At the top, indicating a future collaboration between stray kids x tablo (the guy who played the second security guard)
* I know you noticed a lot of variations and styles in their music (some of which weren’t your thing but that’s ok) so I felt I should mention that stray kids are self produced, they make all their own music which allows them a lot of creative freedom to do their own thing and be really experimental with finding their own sound and also doing things that correlate with each individual members tastes as well, that’s why we always say they have something for everyone because they’re not stuck in one or even two genres and you have a group of eight people who genuinely live and breathe music, like it’s all they want to do, so there’s definitely a lot to search through and find what you like 👏🏻

To touch base on a couple points you brought up, the security guard in Megaverse was disrespectful by doodling on their picture (you can see doodles on the member wearing the white hoodie in the beginning), Side Effects is one of their earliest songs and the mv makes more sense after watching District 9.
Sub-unit and solo songs don't typically have mv's but there are a lot of great songs to check out the lyric videos for like: Taste, Wow (the danceracha vers the 3racha version is different and was meant to be funny), Heyday, 3racha (drill beat), Up All Night (has an MV), plus more.
Stray Kids has a HUGE discography that spans a ridiculous number of genres, it's ok not to like some songs. If you give us an idea of what music/vibe you like Stay will happily point you to songs you may like more.
17:45 for the megaverse mv , the point is that the security was drawing on their faces and scribbling on their magazines, so he represents the haters, but they are still watching. And they were beating his aaaa because he a hater😂 so they know the haters are hating and them appearing out of nowhere means they are also watching the haters, they know what is being said and they are “Welcoming” the haters to the stray kids world because they are technically technically giving them support through their hate
I appreciate your honest reactions. You mentioned that sometimes you end up liking songs more as you go through editing. Stray Kids always have so much going on and you'll peel back the layers the more you listen.
Other commenters have given good background to these songs already. I'll add that you should check out the Survival Show. Once you understand their origin story you'll have better context to understand their lyrics. They sing a lot about their journey and how hard they work to master their craft. The fact that they create their own beats, write and produce themselves gives so much depth and authenticity to their unique sound.
Thunderous was your favorite and that song is a clapback to their haters who often say their music is just loud and noisy. Stray Kids always find a way to reclaim negativity and turn it into their super power. They took traditional Korean instruments, brass, car horns, and onomatopoeia to create a song out of noise. And they did it brilliantly.

understandable if you said 'a lot' to every stray kids MVs, they r always complex indeed, and i personally like it even though i didnt understand that much abt the true meanings behind those MVs, thats why its always important to pay attention to the lyrics~
You definitely need to watch the Maniac M/V, the version you watched was more like a live.
Because im such a huge 3racha fan some info on them:
1. Subunit of skz, formed as trainees. Skz was formed around them.
2. Consists of Bang Chan (leader and more vocal than rapper), Changbin and Han (both allrounders, Han just gets recognized more for his vocal skills. Both are very recognized as rappers though).
3. They have some great subunit songs like 3racha or Heyday. Wow is a cult song too 😂.
4. They produce basically 98% of skz discography, all the members of skz have writing credits on on song or another but 3racha has by far the most and are primarily responsible.
AAA 2023 performance of straykids CANNOT BE MISSED, this is my #1 recommendation
S-Class at the MTV awards is probably my favorite performance of them ever. I didn't like S-Class to much before and that gave me a whole new appreciation.

I understand the confusion when first getting into straykids bc I was the same way but once you get their lore understanding and their concepts ( ex: being yourself, not fitting into society, shutting the haters down etc etc ) the music videos make a lot more sense…. But it will take a while to get it but that’s only if u do deep dives and pay attention to detail and try to take everything in as much as you can, but if you just listen to the music and not do all that stuff then you’ll never understand them!

straykids actually has units they split off into, and make unit songs together with:
3racha- the producing unit (With members BangChan, ChangBin and Han)
DanceRacha- the dance unit (with members LeeKnow, Hyunjin and Felix)
VocalRacha- the vocal unit (with members Seungmin and I.N)
They also sometimes release duo songs and solo songs
As for recommendations i would say:
~Freeze MV (whole group)
~Taste Performance video ( DanceRacha ) - it is a short version of the song but since they are the dance unit you need to see it live you know?
~ 3Racha ( By 3Racha )
As for other recommendations i would say the kingdom performances like ( ill be your man ) or ( side effects -- its a mash up and the performance is like and mv or something)

The guy who wrote Tablo in the end of the Megaverse music video is actually a part of a hip-hop trio and his name is Tablo. Idk if you noticed, but at the top of that newspaper it was written Next 'X' which many fans think is a teaser for a collaboration between Stray Kids and Tablo in the future.
I do also want to tell you to not feel bad about disliking songs, because it's all a matter of taste after all, do don't worry, I'm sure people with a healthy relationship with music will understand you well.
For your next Stray Kids videos my recommendations are

Stray kids is a very animated and are famous for their overwhelming and eclectic sound. They also have some songs where only a few members are focused as well as some solo tracks. Perhaps these would be more your vibe. I feel like their title tracks hit hard, but are more geared towards mainstream, whereas their b-sides are where you get the really deep lyrics.
I would like to note that this Maniac version is a lot more toned down compared to their music video version. It partially has to do with one of their members being injured, which did impact team moral and energy. I also believe that watching the music video puts a lot of the background sounds into context, and makes for an overall better viewing experience. That being said, there are definitely some songs that are more my vibe than others and I can respect that Maniac may not be up your alley :)
In the megaverse mv, if you look closely, the security guard was mocking them and drawing on their pictures, so he deserved allat :>

Stray Kids debut 2018. Stray Kids have currently won a total of 36 awards. They won Best Album of the year 2024. Once you understand Stray Kids you understand their music. The clue toward end of video (Tablo) Tablo himself is the one who wrote Tablo. Tablo is best known as the Leader and Producer of EpiK High Korean Hip-Hop group. Assuming the hint is Stray Kids and Tablo will collaborate in the near future. Remember Stray Kids give clues throughout or toward end of their videos at times. You probably should watch 'MANICA' M/V. Reading their lyrics helps to understand what's going on. It's hard to keep up with lyrics with so much going on in video, but once you understand storyline video makes sense. Part of the concept in this video is the megaverse ain't ready for their Universe. Stray Kids members are one in the same; so when a scene with one member ends, another member replaces them and continues the action. Their breaking down walls symbolize their desire to stand out, innovate and surpass all expectations.
You didn't finish video to the very end. Toward the end of God's Menu there's a clue for next video to watch after watching God's Menu. Also there's a clue toward end of Megaverse. Stray Kids give clues throughout or toward end of their music videos at times for STAYS. There's clues throughout 'FREEZE' M/V. Stray Kids give clues throughout their Short Film Movies for STAYS too. So far i haven't found a music video by Stray Kids that i don't care for or Short Film movies or SKZ CODE.
Tbh I've heard a few people say that Maniac feels like it's missing something, but I think it might just be the dynamics or the mix that isn't doing it justice. Regarding the security guard in Megaverse--he was doodling over their faces in the newspaper (although I don't think he shoulda been beat up for it lol) and it's kinda a "mess with one of us, mess with all of us" vibe. I like the directing style of it a lot though, just needed more context. This a long comment btw, soz bro.

Side Effects song meaning if you're interested:
The lyrics basically translate to throwing yourself into something but being completely lost as to where you're heading, thus imagery of the safari bus, the dropped map and breaking past the "No Entry" fence.
In the instrumental you might be able to hear a robotic voice reciting "common side effects include..." and a list of those side effects, as well as the chorus basically repeating "my head hurts" as they're basically arguing with the voices inside their heads. The frustration bleeds out and they're fighting with each other, soon getting tired of travelling and then they run out of fuel.
The ending shows two separate realities, one where they get onto a luxury bus and head back to where it's comfortable, and the other is where they continue into the dark or the "Road Not Taken" which is another song on the album. The final cut scene relates more to the story of three mini albums together, part of the Cle series (Cle meaning key in French? I think?) which is why we see the dropped key in the water at the end and also some weird multiverse situation, but I think they gave up on following that storyline by the time they released In Life in 2020.

Thanks lol, I've been in the fandom for a few years now and I've seen how intense the influx of info and judgement that fans bring down on reactors can be when they're just starting out. Han has a solo song, called Vulcano. It is, in my opinion, one of the better songs ever created. But you should watch with subs, because it's also the lyrics that hit deep! He wrote it himself.
If you like Felix's deep voice, you should listen to 'Deep end', it is a solo track he wrote himself.
You might want to watch the live Kingdom performances, if you haven't already.
At the end Tablo is a Korean Rapper. It is hinting a the next collaboration.

I actually like the Megaverse stage performance better than the mv. The choreography for it is pretty awesome! You should check out the live performance for S Class at the MTV Awards. When you said there was a lot going on in the S Class mv all I could think was just wait 😂
Please always start with the official MV's, because you miss out on a lot of clues, great visuals and transitions. And you should watch with subs, because most of their lyrics really have deeper meanings.
The Straykids write and produce and choreograph there own music..They are behind all the stuff you love..They were built this way..There lable raised them in this way..They were a experiment band and was a success....

I hope you'll check out some of their live performances, especially for God's menu and megaverse because not only is the choreo amazing, but they also bring so much energy to the stage. Anyways others might have told u already but here are some facts!! *LONG COMMENT WARNING*
Stray Kids are almost entirely self produced apart from certain aspects of choreography and other small details, which means they write and produce almost all of their discography!
Although they are all multitalented and are basically a group of 8 main rappers signers and dancers, they have 3 subunits (mini groups) within the group itself:
3Racha: Producers, they have the most control over their music as well as the recordings and creation of beats. The members apart of 3Racha are Bangchan (or Christopher Bang/CB91, he's Australian, the leader and the oldest of the group. He was trusted enough after 7 years of training under JYP to choose all of the members of Stray Kids himself, a first in the company's history), Han Jisung (or J.one, who we call the ace since he's a rapper but gets mostly all of the main vocalist lines in their covers and has ThAt stage presence) and Changbin (or Seo Changbin/SpearB, who was trained as a vocalist before trainee days and ended up being one of the best rappers in the industry. You could say he also like working out, but just look at his arms and you'll know it's him. Though he looks like he could strangle you with his biceps he's actually the youngest mentally, acts like a cute child, and is secretly the long lost member of every girl group as proven in their tik toks). You could say that 3Racha was a pre-debut subunit since they wrote and released music together before debuting with the others as Stary Kids.
3Racha have many songs that I feel you would really enjoy such as their song 3Racha (lol), and many other songs released by one of them such as ''run" and "I got it" by Han, "Doodle" by Changbin and "Connected" by Bangchan.
DanceRacha: Main dance line of the group, they have input on certain aspects of their choreographies and help the other members learn it as well. Members apart of this subunit are Lee Know (or Lee Minho, who we call the savage/the menace or the group, who is a talented dancer and dance teacher as well as a father of 3 cats (might as well be the father of every stray cat out there) ), Felix (or Lee Felix/Lee Yongbok (his Korean name), also called brownie boy cuz of his delicious brownies, who has the face and the personality of an angel with the voice of the grim reaper. He is also a very talented performer and even though he is one of the main dancers, he sings and raps very well.) and Hyunjin (or Hwang Hyunjin, who we either call the drama queen or the leader of paboRacha (DumbRacha, not a subunit, just a silly name for certain members). He got street cast by an employee/manager at JYP because of his looks while shopping with his mom and started learning how to sing and dance from scratch to eventually debut in Stray Kids).
Also, Fun Fact: Hyunjin and Felix are known as an iconic duo since Hyunjin is a Versace ambassador (he was crowned the prince of Versace) and Felix is a Louis Vuitton ambassador!!
DanceRacha also have subunit songs such as "Taste" and "wow", but each member also has songs of their own such as "Limbo" by Lee Know, "Love untold" by hyunjin and "Deep end" by Felix (Which i REALLY recommend because of how it shows his true talent and his incredible range. Like it's insane.)
Last but not least we have VocalRacha: Main Vocalists of the group and also the two youngest members. These two are Seungmin (or the puppy, who we also call the savage of the group along with Lee Know) and I.N (or Yang Jeongin, also called the fox and the maknae (the youngest). He's the one every member simps for honestly everyone just loves the youngest.)
VocalRacha also have 2 subunit songs called "Can't Stop" and "My Universe", as well as songs of their own such as "Stars and Raindrops" by Seungmin and "Maknae on Top" by I.N feat. Changbin and Bangchan.
Finally, here are some of my personal favourites:

All of Straykids are too talented to be back up dancers..Why would you want only 3 or 4 when you could have all 8... not close to 50.
Just to help put Megaverse and Thunderous into context, the lyrics are a message to the Kpop music industry, who have criticized them since their debut. They were told they make noise music, basically calling their music obnoxious. Thunderous which is on their comeback album NoEasy or NOIeaSY, which was released after Stray Kids won Kingdom (A competition between Kpop groups). The criticism is centered around the fact that they are not traditional Kpop and because they are different (being JYP has even them creative control over their music) the other Kpop companies fear their idols or future idols might want the same freedoms. I recommend checking out their live performance, particularly Asian award shows they are phenomenal. Thankfully, other Kpop groups love and admire them, even if their bosses don't.
Stray Kids won their first VMA for S Class. And one Stay said Stray Kids make M/V for people with ADHD. 😀

With the Megaverse video, the security guard was being targeted because he was defacing their pictures in the paper at the beginning.
and with the "TABLO" at the end, it's suspected to be a teaser for a collaborative song (or something, lets keep our options open) between Stray Kids and Tablo, who is a Korean-Canadian artist.
And in Thunderous, They're not actually saying Thunderous. That's just the English title because the Korean title and word that they're using is a specific reference to a title given to artists is Pansori, which is a traditional genre of music in Korea. It's a very cultural reference, so it wouldn't make contextual sense to most native English speakers. The word they're saying, "sorikkun," is a title given to masters/highly skilled singers of Pansori. And Pansori is performed by a singer and a drummer, which is why this whole song leans more heavily into percussion than a lot of their other songs.

Stray kids got me into K-pop but what I’ve noticed with them is that they are performers not really casually listening like I’m iffy with mega verse because it’s just too much packed into one and should’ve been more spread apart but all the parts were mostly good (kinda a bit goofy I’m sorry the intro…) but I adored the interlude with I.N & Seungmin it was so beautiful (the two vocalists singing back to back majestically)
I hate it when it feels like they gotta include everyone (I’m saying this as someone’s who’s favorite is I.N the CEO of least lines 25:16) once you notice the amount of switch ups it’s just ehhh
They have music by themselves or sub-units. You should definitely check out Red Lights by Bang Chan and Hyunjin, Volcano by Han, Taste by Felix, Hyunjin and Lee Know, Drive by Bang Chan and Lee Know, if you want Rap or Drill you can listen to 3Racha by 3Racha (Han, Bang Chan and Changbin) and Heyday by 3Racha too. In the MV you can put the subtitles on to see the lyrics

This is the problem with people reacting for the first time with some of their songs because some of their mvs have to be watched in a certain order because a story is being told and you are missing it. I would find a Playlist that plays their mvs in order. Side effects is a follow up of their song district 9, which shows them being captive in some sort of secret lab and they are seen taking a red pill. They break free from the lab and side effects, from what I understand, is the effects after the breaking out, the red pill and just adjusting to the new life. I think the fight that breaks out is just showing frustration they have experienced in their process. Also as first time listening to each song I would stick to mvs or lyric videos and then move on to live versions. On a side note I like watching your reactions, just wanted to try to clarify some of what was going on lol.

To help you with the meanings of their MV's (cause they aren't just nonsense mixed match cool scenes they run deep even excluding their lore!) Check out Bookish theories who does quick run downs of the meanings of their MV's and lyrics
It's not that the live performances are necessarily bad but if you are there to actually for the music the MV's are better as the lives are more about the performance aspect and tend to do mashups and other extra features. They are super fun when you already are familiar with the songs. With the studio sound you actually get to hear all the interesting and fun things happening with their music. And to the comment about if they have songs with focusing on less members I gotta say that even if there was less members performing there would be just as much happening visually and vocally :') They do have more stripped songs but it is kinda their trademark to have multiple songs in one with lot of transitions.
Side effects is part of their origin lore that is introduced in Hellevator and starts at Destrict 9. It's also from their own era still looking for their sound.

At Levanter their origin story ends and new era begins with God's menu and so on. There is more to it but those are the main point tracks plus the trailers for the albums. The story line is heavily filled with social criticism and also individuals personal struggles of finding their own voice and path.
Some stray kids songs need to cook in your brain for a little while before it clicks. I didnt like Venom or Megaverse right away, but after a couple listens it just started to work for me. The Mala Taste genre its so different, sometimes it takes some getting used too. Lol
I also recommend reading the lyrics. The lyrics are really what makes a lot of stray kids shine. Very relatable.

I saw that you were mostly recommended SKZ’s title track and hard-hitting songs; maybe you can consider mixing in some of their slower songs. It might not be your cup of tea, but something like Cover Me, Neverending Story, Secret Secret, Sorry I Love You, or even Ex would be fascinating as a switch-up.
I like this, you'll be surprised what I like, I'll definitely check them out.
Megaverse is hinting to terms as 'paralel universe', 'multiverse' etc, as seen in many DC/Marvel series. The Megaverse is a surreal place where you can't get out, and SKZ are haunting you!

I've only been listening to them for a few months. I love to watch them dance. I think they're incredibly attractive and super hot, too. Their music is about the positive energy. Stray Kids music makes me wanna move and many fans watch them to ward off depression. It works for me every time. Hyunjin is a powerful dancer (Red Velvet, Taste, and Booster), as well as been named Artist of the Month for a solo dance to a Motley Crue song.
