Just installed mine today. Love them. Very classy and they fit and look amazing! They don’t give these things away, but you are getting the very best which I’ve got used to with Steveston. They really make top quality parts and genuinely care about the product they produce or the video they produce. I appreciate that. Classy outfit. There’s certain things I’ll bank on : Steveston, Classic Mini DIY, and of course Haynes manuals. Thank you all…
Nice design the only thing I would add is to strengthen the top edge with a metal U channel and reduce the width an inch or so. You can buy similar in the UK ,search classic mini coloured sun visors
Looks great and appreciate the effort in quality! a lot of the ones available from japan or Italy aren’t in great quality so I’m excited to try it out!
I've been thinking of making something like this for my mini for a while now, looks like you guys beat me to it! I'm thinking of making mine with a double hinge on one side and a clip on the other to allow the visor to rotate and cover the side window, is there a reason you guys didn't go that route?
It's a good idea and would modernize the design further. Not sure what kind of hinge would work well there. We stuck with the one rotation axis for design simplicity and cost.
Ridged sun visors were banned from vehicles many years ago. These do not comply with current vehicle standards, but owners should check local regulations to see if they are ok to fit to their old model mini for the road. Most standards now say sun visors need to be “fitted with a thickness of at least 1.5 mm of energy absorbing material.” Ie not hard edged Perspex... nice idea, but watch your head 🤕
Nothing wrong with the originals, just don't lower them so much that they obscure your vision. They'll also do a lot less damage to your face if you arere thrown forwards and hit 'one edge on.
What?!! Buy good quality 7" Lucas H4 halogen ones and you have better headlights than most modern cars! Also make sure they have at least 12 volts at the connectors, no bad earthing etc.
Only see one problem, you're to tall for the factory sunvisors. Never had the problem with my 175cm height. The real problem is there's nothing in the middle, round and above the rear-wiew mirror.
most of the ones available from japan are very poor quality and get cracked, pitted and blurry to see through, and their hardware isn’t the best. These look to be by far the best, and I’m excited to fit them onto my mini once i buy it:)
Chris Marsh - ordering from Japan is a pain. And seriously, you’re going to flame one of the few North American enthusiast shops still creating Mini parts? Get lost
@@Stevestonmotorco you shouldn't claim you fixed the problem then someone else beat you to it. You made a product already available more readily available then.
This all seems pretty shady to me..
I see what you did there...

Great idea. Haha. Loved the ending. I thought for a second that you’d turned into a late night telemarketer
I love the fact this is video is pretty much infomercial, followed by a late-night ad. Keep it up, guys!
Cheers man
Gonna feel flying my Cessna when I'll drive my Mini. Love it !
Nice work guys! I think it's great how you make high quality products to make our minis much nicer. Looking forward to the next ideas!
Thanks so much! Our pleasure.
The simple ideas are always the best.
Hi Phillip. What a great idea! I wish these were available when I owned my Mini. I would have bought them in a heatbeat.
Nice design the only thing I would add is to strengthen the top edge with a metal U channel and reduce the width an inch or so.

Wish I had these problems
Mates, that was sick ideas of blocking the sun.what a stunning piece of work there.well information video.Well done,Mates!Cheers SMCO!!
Many thanks!
@bad obsession motorsport you need another bracket for these ^ :D
Blinkys for Binky
Great job👍you defiantly can tell a lot of effort went into them. Hope to have them on my mini one day!
Could you make the sun visor with a second night (yellow) visor? A combination would be great!
“Manufacturing tolerances” LOL! It’s called a shit fit. 😂
Love British cars
Managed to fit a set of these to my Ford Capri, hinges are slightly spaced but they still work a treat
I did this back in 2010 with Blue sun visors. They have been around for ages.
My Morris minor has some from the 50s
I need these for a Miata!
300zx as well. Could only see stoplights with the t tops off.
Where do you find classic minis in the US?
My 1953 Arnolt MG with the exact same sort of visors. They’re really neat, quirky, and very useful. Not that a Mini needs to be any more quirky...
This is the kinda innovations we need in life 👌🏼😎

any idea on when these will be back in stock? I love that most classic mini folks also love classic BMWs too.
Should be next week now. Appreciate your patience!
Liked the suggested sunvisor. However, how is to keep it cleaned? Fingers? Get scratch? Cheers
Microfibre and a gentle cleaning solution.
What about safety? Do they not split in case of an accident? Must watch the materials!
Well this is a coincidence I was thinking of making my own using the same hinges .
Swopping the hinges left to right would narrow mounting points? You need a new windscreen as well, that is delaminating and scratched?
Don't judge Marco's windscreen!
I was sure it will be an engine conversion video ;)
hahaha
Is the Smoke Grey or Dark Bronze colour used in this vid? Thanks
Hi, the dark bronze is featured in this video.
I run a deep top-tinted screen.
Looks a quality solution
Are these available in England? Thanks
Yes we ship to England!
Love this idea!!
Those are wicked 😳!!!
Ordered a set in bronze for my VTEC Elf. No more saggy useless visors!
❤
Great idea guys !!
Thanks!
this is brilliant
Cheers!
I have a 89 Mayfair will these work
You bet
Hola, donde es posible comprarlo para que se envie a España.

Everything on your car "road legal"? How boring..
Should make a polarised option man.
I think they are supposed to be padded. So your head doesn't get cut open in an accident. ADR's here would outlaw them.
Old but sensible idea, been available for years.
Yes, they've been available for Cobras and Jags since the 60s, and minis for some time. But we like our hinges better.
Need one that fits a roll cage
Drill mounting points into the front hoop
i found my solution years ago... polaroid sunglasses. never needed a sun visor ever :)
We've miss you Phill.
Cool idea.
Crash safety?!
In a mini?!
That's clever.
Some cars in the 1930s had the same thing but made from glass.
The distributor just behind the grille is worse, can of CRC on the back seat.
Yeah distributor placement isn't ideal
Presenter really talks to you !
I wish my sun visors were bigger because I am to small for them to block the sun😅
Please build me a automatic I love you builds I might wanna get a van or even a pick up
What about the mirror... I am a smug

cool guy hot video!!
Better to eat your greens and get taller. Or only lower the visor halfway.
Worst feature of a classic mini is the poor headlights

I love Mini but...trop cher :/ !
When your 5ft 2 you dont have this problem
Hahaha, must be nice :D
I am 6ft 3 and my sunvisor is the roof.
Most people but a dinted strip across the top of the screen
Cool idea and all but $200 is an awful lot for what it is. Could make the same thing for less than $25 in an hour or so.
Best of luck! 😄
First!
You've "fixed it" you basically ripped off what's been available for a decade in Japan and claimed it as your own
It's not a new concept, but we have tried to improve on previous versions
Its literally tinted acrylic. They've just developed it and made it available to more people, they haven't 'ripped off' anyone.
