I have been telling my friends and family that this underground tunnel railway project is not going to work in Sikkim as we already have faced major 6.8 magnitude earthquake in 2011 and at that time there were no major projects like this now imagine the ecosystem disbalance after this. I hope nothing happens in the future as nobody wants the horror repeated.
I live in Chhibo Khasmahal in Kalimpong and I know for sure that if anything untoward happens at the GOVT. OF INDIA SPONSORED NHPC PROJECTS AND THE UNDERGROUND RAILWAY PROjECT, THE PEOPLE OF CHHIBO AS WELL AS THE ENTIRE CHHIBO REGION WILL SLIP INTO OBLIVION. I EXPRESS MY HEARTFELT GRATITUDE TO THE GOVERNMENT OF INDIA FOR THIS . A BIG 'THANK YOU' FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR HEARTS#GOVERNMENTOFINDIA
I'm a resident of Darjeeling hills, I'm a social activist too... working with livelihood aspects. I am really very happy that you have wisely described the facts related to the Darjeeling hills and Sikkim. We need to raise voice against these ornamental development. If you need any support may connect me.
Thank you, Team Cord, for raising social awareness among people regarding this issue. Development comes with its own set of problems, and it is crucial to acknowledge these issues and find ways to address them to proper authorities.
Sustainable development should be our focus .Big and expensive infrastructures will cause more damage than it'll benefit .Only industries which are apt with the geography of hills should be developed .Development is important but not at the cost of people's lives and environment degradation.
Last year in August during monsoon we visited Darjeeling. We were horrified to see the condition of the Sevok road and Teesta river due to railway project and surprised to know that it's not a narrow gadget but a broad gadget railway project on such a fragile topography.
Awesome thank you for the wonderful insight our organization have been working in this field spreading awareness regarding the risk which we will be facing in the near future.. this video is very informative .. will work together to minimize the risk of a disaster..

Being a citizen of Darjeeling yes we are scared of this natural calamity which is being caused by the illegal construction project. Darjeeling is a small mountain area and in a place like that we cannot rapidly construct big buildings which will directly affect the ground surface level. Government should look after this matter because this is not a joke but a serious matter to look after. We as a human cannot play with nature and cannot be greater than nature. I really appreciate the cord members for making this video and spreading the news and making us alert.
Your story is very knowledgeable Sir. Keep making videos like this for us because we want to know so much about our regions. Thank you for making this video and spread awareness among our people. I am from Dooars and please make some videos about our regions also.
Please find out about the tunnel debris disposal program is running as it is supposed to and no illegal dumping in the river bed as the Himachal situation was worsened by illigal dumping of debris
Illegal construction going on still in the name of parking but the making of a 100 room hotels in the hills WHO WILL SEE TO THIS AS IT is PASSED BY MUNICIPALITY AND DEAR POLITICIANS and the contractors and businessman are happy and their families too what are they concerned NO ONE JUST THEM SELFISH HUMANS THE TREES ARE CUT the soils damaged 😡 sad to see ...keep up the good work and research and keep up the courageous info as we all know people are bad selfish
Nepal Bata pura manche haru auide cha ....plus auru Indian state bata pani auide cha. Hami Darjeelingey po abo baira ko manche bhai sakyo. Chang change pool ko tala illegal constructions bhako cha , septic tank mathi pani and almost all jhora ma
