Many years have passed when SIkkim wss merged in India. I still believe, Hope Cooke was planted there - who knows what America's plan was. Ok. There are Limbus of Nepal who accepted Gorkha annexation and there are Limbus of Sikkim who did not accept Gorkha rajya. They still believe they are not Nepalis.
Limbu had an administrative ruling of independent 10 limbu 17 thum in pallo kirat. Limbu became nepali after accepting gorkha rule on pallo kirat, the ones in Sikkim always opposed gorkha rule n kept resisting the invasion until Anglo gorkha war. Your information about Sikkimese Nepalis is incorrect and highly condemnable. You need to research more before you upload a video as a "Researcher". Sikkim was inhabited since 12000BC. Please take the pain to research who lived in Sikkim before 1642. Likewise, do refer to the Encyclopedia Britannica which mentions that Mangar Troops witnessed the Coronation of the first Chogyal in 1642. In 1642 Nepal was limited within kathmandu valley also called Nepal mandal. If there were magar community already living in Sikkim then they were not yet Nepali. west of Nepal mandal was baisi and chaubisi rajya all independent and east of Nepal mandal was wallo, majh and pallo kirat bordered with Sikkim.

@@khom3940 well tbh Gorkha was also an expansionist state like British. So i don't think we can can say we fought only to protect our sovereignty. Also many Nepalis of Sikkim(today) were once subjects of Gorkha rajya, but later when Nepal lost Sikkim those people also became subjects of Sikkim, but Gorkha identity is still dear to them, and rightly so. Although we are in different countries today, our ancestors were one once and they deserve their ancestors indentity just like us.
And btw when i said Nepalis helped India annex Sikkim i did not mean it as a insult. If Sikkimese people are happy to be in India today, then whatever was done then was a great move.

There are Limbus of Nepal who accepted Gorkha annexation and there are Limbus of Sikkim who did not accept Gorkha rajya. They still believe they are not Nepalis.

Yes Subba is just a tittle given by the Gorkha king to the Limbu village chief of Limbuwan . They still say we are different Limbu than Limbu in Nepal but most of Limbu in sikkim and darjeling today were migrated from yangwarok kingdom of Limbuwan Kanchanjunga region. Limbu of sikkim and darjeling still write Subba as their surname. We don't want to create conflicts between our brothers of Limbu community. After all, we are all Yakthung, the descendants of thibangsa Yakthungba the 10 ruler of Limbuwan. All Yakthung belong to same roots no matter whatever surname they write whichever region or country they live in.
