- Honestly, this video kept getting wilder and wilder as I went. I'm a shell of a man after all this. Soon, you'll see me on the History Channel talking about ancient aliens and how the Wizard built the pyramids with Junimo slave labor. Actually... that's not a bad take.
Anyway, today we have Rasmodeus! He's been involved in the videos for Caroline, Pierre, and Mr. Qi, so it seemed only fair that he have some time to shine. Unfortunately, he spends a lot of his own video on the edges or in the background. Life just isn't fair like that sometimes.

It's the only time he can be sure to catch a peek of Caroline and Abigail...
I'm actually really curious about Marlon. All we really know about him is he runs the adventure guild, he used to work with slimes (stated after player gets a Slime Hutch built), he got injured somehow, and he thinks that Marnie is pretty. That's enough rambling from me, I enjoyed the video!
He's an interesting character. There's a lot to speculate on, but not a ton of in game concert evidence. Means we can take some creative liberties with his story..
I was thinking, what if Marnie is Marion's daughter or sister or something?

I thought the reason why Marlon never go for Marnie is because he's injured. Marlon is good guy, He probably think an old, injured man who working in line of work that he might die anytime... will weigh Marnie down. Marnie in his eye is probably a gentle lady who taking good care of animal and not someone who's in hidden relationship with purple shorts.
He probably refuse to make deeper friendship with anyone because of that too.

I love the idea that there's a retired dnd-esk adventuring group in Stardew Valley. For whatever reason, I find it very amusing.

Mona was a Rogue or Ranger type
Grandpa was a mage type as well, maybe the Wizards apprentice or an Echo Knight

I might be wrong, but wasn't the wizards wife a "normal" human being, and only after he "made a mistake" she turned into a witch? Marnie sometimes says she once heard a loud shriek come from the tower, which I always thought happened when the wizards wife found out about Caroline and turned into a witch. Great video nonetheless, and I can't wait for more!
Thanks! I talked a little about the witch in the Caroline vid. I think she was already a little witchy, just not green. But I agree that finding out about the affair is what tanked the relationship!
It seems like the player's Grandpa would also have had some sort of contact with the crew. He left a magic shrine at the farm and his grandkid has a connection to the nature spirits.
That could imply that the PC's grandfather was the party druid. But wouldn't that have been Linus's role?
It's all coming together, Linus is the PC's *other* grandfather!

i think if, by some miracle, we ever got a stardew lore novel or something, out of any stardew characters i'd want it to focus on the wizard. or maybe linus.
I think the wizard would be fascinating. It would be a tough pick between the wizard, Gunther, Linus, Marlon, and maybe Sandy or Willy. Too many people I need to know about!
CA actually said that there was no canons outside of what was actually in the game, I think he likes letting the fans speculate so I doubt he would do something like this
A lore journal of sorts from linus perspective since he knows everyone but is on the outskirts of everyone

The scene where the wizard sent me to the witch’s hut really shed light on his character for me.
He states that the witch is his ex-wife, admits the marriage fell apart because of his actions, and states he blocked her off from visiting the valley to protect its people. But then he says that, to get back some ink that’ll make him more powerful, he’s removing those safeguards and asks you to go to the witches hut.
You go there and see some horrifying things. A shrine that allows monsters to spawn in the valley, a shrine that turns children into doves, a shrine that makes people forget their spouses, and a growling creature in a crevice in the wall.
The wizard just put the whole valley in danger for his own benefit … again.
I think it also sheds some light on the Witch, she wants to forget the memories of her marriage, she wants to get rid of the bastard child that her cheating husband had and she wants to flood the valley with golems to cause havoc so that her husband can see the valley he wanted to study be reduced to ruin. Are all these successful, probably not to some extent.
The bastard daughter must be extremely powerful to not be doved by the Selfishness shrine.
This is all the more reason I think it's Emily, not Abigail. Emily shows proficiency in: forest magic, mermaid magic (dance scene), Yoba magic, divination, oneiromancy etc. It's actually insane she knows so much despite essentially being self-taught.
Kent. Do him next. Please talk about the war going on that he had been in the past year and its significance to the valley, joja, and so on, if it has any. but i bet its GOT TO. i just dont know what it is yet.... lol

Addressing why he keeps sending bombs through the mail would be helpful, too.
Does he send bombs out to others in the village? Is he a sleeper agent? Is he trying to clear out his inventory to remove the temptation from his demons?
It's a very notable way of delivering explosives. The iceberg goes deep.

I think he's more of a live, laugh, love sort. I could see it being painted above his bed.
I would add an additional bit of evidence in the fact that it's only after the farmer arrives, helps solve the Junimo mystery, and retrievers the magic ink that wizard is able to summon a Junimo hut. Could this be Joja's new work force?

Caroline does say that Abagail's original hair color was chestnut, but most people probably don't know about that dialogue because most people don't get friendship with her. Chestnut hair would fit right in in her family, but it's still odd that her hair stays purple no matter what she does....
I'll be honest I've always been so disappointed by the lack of my main man Rasmodius as a romanceable option. Stardew Valley has a lot of Harvest Moon DNA and in those games you can pretty much always romance the Witch/Wizard equivalent or other special characters, typically with extra prerequisites/special circumstances. I get that he has....Baggage....But I would have loved to see more of him and how his possible budding romantic relationship with the player/new farmer would change things. Poor guy deserves another shot at love after all the failed marriages and affairs he's been put through.

Hmm he was an option on a poll ages ago made by concernedape but he wasn't a popular choice. Okay second most popular after Shane. Why we never got to marry the wizard one can only speculate
HE WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A THING, THERE WAS A POLL BUT SHANE WON... Now, Shane IS one of my favorite characters BUT there was also wizard in the poll?? AND HE DIDN'T WIN??? Honestly this fact alone have formed a hole in my heart that can never, and will never, be filled, especially knowing that he was in second place, right after Shane...
(also in my opinion Sandy who was a female candidate should've won instead of Emily)
I genuinely only played SDV after confirming that they got wizard marriage mod. I couldnt care less about any other spouse candidates, in fact im doing a run w no wizard marriage and im at a loss at who to pick cuz theyre all so equally boring to me...

Haha thank you! I'm not too worried about it. I have a lot of awesome feedback from the community. But sometimes when you're writing about Mr. Qi and the Wizard having a secret business meeting you start wonder what went wrong in life... Or what went right?
@@Leapalot it's definitely a really fun/cool theory! One note is that M. Jasper probably isn't Mona, M. Jasper is actually referred to as a him in Journal Scrap #5. But that doesn't throw out your theory at all.
Oh! And one very interesting thing to note (to me anyway) is that in the opening cutscene, the sword in grandpa's wall looks extremely similar to the "pirate's sword" weapon in game. So maybe Grandpa was a pirate.
(On a tangentially related note, I think Willy might've been the one who wrote the journal scraps on Ginger Island)
@@elizabethb4168 just because whoever wrote the journal assumed M. Jasper was male doesn't the journal writer was correct. A lot of authors with first letter initials are assumed male by default. I imagine that would be doubly so for an author of adventure/travel memoirs.
I actually have a theory that Emily is the wizard's daughter, based solely on her two heart event (Where you enter her dream through magical means) and her fourth heart event, (where she seems to know something will happen before the parrot thing).

building off of this, maybe the wizard being in such a vulnerable emotional state after mona’s death was what caused him to turn to caroline for comfort, and he paid the price for that. doesnt excuse him cheating on his wife, but being extremely grief-stricken can make people do stupid things.
i kinda headcanon the wizard as someone who, while incredibly adept in the arcane, has a bad habit of thinking more emotionally and impulsively rather than logically. i mostly got that headcanon because i love the way the devs for stardew valley expanded wrote his character to be more interesting, but still. i think its fun to consider how a tragedy like the loss of a loved one caused him to heavily spiral and ultimately lose all the people in his life, at least that we know of.

I love these video's!! I know so much about stardew and its people already. Most of the fan-theories aren't new to me, but the way you put them together. Its just perfect and it makes so much sences. I really hope it's true!!! We might never know for sure though.

Fuckin love the Wizard, he’s such a bastard. I wish he was a bachelor just to learn more about him, to hear more about his feelings and motivations. Also so they can bite the fucking bullet and have him open up about the things insinuated. I mean, a divorce, a child you can’t approach, isolation. I’d be a little off my rocker too hhh-

My personal favourite is that Wizard and Witch are actually one entity - separated by day and night. It's not a coincidence that there is both a Shrine of Illusions and teleportation circle leading to witch hut i Wizard basement.
Hope you don't mind if I add my own two cents. Perhaps the two existed as one entity at one point, but knowingly having an affair with a married woman tore them apart. A moral quandary could easily cause a divide I think.

In the gem therapy cutscene, Abigail said she felt nothing from her amethysts.
Either this means she's not really "magical", or she's got some real magic flowing through her body.
The true use of stardew's gem is to power abilities, not some sort of baby meditation hippie magic.
And perhaps that's why Abby doesn't feel anything from the gem, because that's just not magic.
I think the gems just didn't do anything. After all, we're able to teleport, change the weather, commune with ghosts, and speak with forest spirits, and we didn't really need gems for those.
Emily's first 3 heart events are her literally showing psychic powers (like the Stardrops and mermaids) and communicating with parrots (Forest Magic like the player). Her 14 hearts event is her giving you *enchanted* boots.
Astrology is also a valid thing in this world. The Farmer checks their horoscope for luck on TV every morning. Welwick (the fortune teller) is acquainted with Mr. Qi and the Wizard.

Linus and Rasmodius definitely have an affiliation, they stand next to each other out of reach at the Spirits Eve
There's a note that says that Abigale puts the Amthysts under her Pillows, so, she doesn't use them to dye her hair.
She obviously still eats them, and the coloring somehow ends up in her hair.
I think there’s actually a bit of evidence that goes against the possibility of Abigail being the Wizard’s daughter.
Firstly, in the video, you bring up the possibility of the Witch finding out about his affair with Caroline but he has dialogue that disproves this. In the cutscene up at the railroad, he mentions something about how he turned into a frog and his wife came home and got mad at him because she thought he was cheating on her, and *that’s* what caused her to turn green and start flying around the valley. (At least, I think he said this. I don’t imagine this is something I dreamt up one night)
And in the same dialogue he has about one of the villagers being his daughter, he also says right after that he could be mistaken. Granted, he says it’s rare, but it *does* happen. Rasmodius *does* get mistaken sometimes. It is very possible that this is one of those times.
I swear, people always ignore that last line. It’s like they ignore it because they *want* Abigail to be the Wizard’s daughter even though he says himself that’s it’s possible nobody is actually his daughter.
I know this is old but I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your video! Even if it required a "tinfoil hat" it was very fascinating. (Also i'm a sucker for great stories and the narration sounded very story-like)
The game specifically mentions that the witch was a normal woman until after the wizard and her get divorced. Then she turned green and started flying.

I’ve commented this so many times hopefully someone sees it but recently I got a line from Caroline that said “Abigail’s hair used to be a light chestnut brown like her fathers” (and pierres hair is that color) no I can’t prove it Bc i didn’t think much of it and just started watching these videos like a month ago

That is a line. Or it's very similar if nothing else. And then Abigail also has a line where she says she can't remember the last time she dyed it.

I like to think that Mona (M. Japer?) is Alex's mother. Maybe she took on adventuring when Alex's dad dies, to get over it. But then she dies one day. Maybe Clara was her real name, but she didn't want Alex to get suspicious. So, she became Mona.

I love the wizard and Abigail so much. I'm a practicing witch and it's just really nice to see some spiritual and magical stuff (and honorable mention to Emily for being spiritual as well.) Whatever the lore actually is, it's still really nice to see some spirituality and magic through this.

Okay I just watched the Linus video so I don't think you brought this up could have missed it. In this video you suggest that maybe Linus had magical powers but I think that would mess up the RPG dynamic that seems to be present in this group. Marlon is the fighter, rasmodeus is obviously the mage, I think M. Jasper would essentially be The Bard since at the very least he seems more eclectic than the others with his writing profession, and Linus who lives surviving on the wilderness is obviously the ranger. I mean I could be wrong and I definitely get the whole should be backstory could mean he used to be a wizard thing but personally I like the dynamic much better when they fit into that kind of cliche final fantasy / dungeons and dragons RPG party. Just my two cents on one very small part of your video lol
Oh I'm thinking more like druid than ranger! Still magical, but not specifically a wizard. More like part of nature/in tune with the natural world. I see rangers as more martial, and druids as more caster based. And Linus, to me, doesn't seem like someone who would pick up a weapon very often.
@@Leapalot I'm thinking like classic ranger, more stealth based responsible for scouting ahead of the party then reliant on straight combat. I guess I just never like the double mage party setup I kind of dig the classic fighter mage rogue archetype with either a bard or a White mage in the fourth slot. I could see Linus as a druid though and I do remember you bringing that up now

To the "her hair stays always purple" I say: in the valley NOTHING ever changes unless the player does it, so of course Abis hair doesn't turn brown again, same as Vincent and Jas never grow up or George and Evelyn never die.

I have a theory That involves the wizard and Linus (I didn’t make this theory) but instead of mr Qi there’s Mona and that Mona that Mona is M. Jasper and Mona wizard and Linus used to explore the world together then they got older stopped exploring and then Mona died so wizard and Linus kinda lost communication with wizard and then linus moved to pelican town to just kinda spend his time there and slowly regained friendship with wizard but not fully

As a non native english speaker, it's very hard to follow all parallel dished out informat at once. Listening to your narration, reading the inserted comments and the character dialogue is impossible and hinders the flow of the video in my opinion as you either miss something by not being able to pay attention to everything at once or permanently pause/unpause the video to not miss something. I noticed that in pretty much all of your other videos too. Maybe you can find a less multitasking demanding way.
