fury over fridging is always a good catalyst for analysis you're so real for that
but yeah this is a phenomenon i've been interested in for so long, it's so odd to me because as someone in my mid-twenties i have genuinely no interest in children's media (and having to watch it while babysitting is agonizing). so yeah it's interesting to me that where i take comfort in seeing media that depicts adulthood as what it is (messy and difficult but at times satisfying), others take comfort in being reminded of their childhood. i understand to some extent being interested in very simplified narratives, but to me it seems immature to never be able to handle moral complexity and dark themes in media as an adult.
also the stuff about looking for dark content where it isn't is WILD anytime you're doing conspiracy theory stuff about children's media (or genuinely any media) it's time to log off fr, and especially when it gets to political ideology
"it's not good to treat media analysis as though it is some sort of easter egg hunt connnecting all of these random elements that actually don't have any connection in order to hint at some sort of grander meaning"

YEAH i mean i think theres a conversation to be had about the ideas that children's media is pushing (cough cough paw patrol is obvious copaganda cough cough) but that is NOT the same as conspiracy theory "i think blueys dad is actually having AN AFFAIR WITH THE NEIGHBOR" type of analysis lol, which is just not productive analysis! if you wanna string stuff together based off of practically unrelated clues get really into bad mystery novels or something idk

@@theunreliablenarratorshow oh yeah i forgot about paw patrol 😭 yeah there's def ways children's media pushes political ideology, i more meant like shapiro style conspiracy versus usual understandings that culture and politics do influence children's media, but the latter is def present

They also can’t take criticism or some parents not liking the show because it makes their child behave badly

tbh, as a bluey obsessed autistic I wasn't sure about this video when I started watching because of the sheer amount of unresearched bluey hate videos I've seen but this is actually a really good video. You defiantly knew what you were talking about here. This addresses a point that I feel needs to be addressed a LOT more, which is the amount of dark and adult fan content surrounding this show. I don't want. to limit creativity, but at a certain point you have to respect that a show is meant for kids. I'm not an adult to be clear, but I'm old enough to be outside the intended age range. I enjoy the show for being lighthearted and displaying simple, meaningful interactions, (plus some AMAZING neurodivergent representation) but that's entirely ruined by the fans putting married adults into affairs/full on killing them off, and giving child characters edgy depression. (yes this is real and I hate it) To be clear I don't think theorising is a bad idea, but some fans seriously need to lay off the darker topics. Also TYSMMM for bringing up Bentkey since they tried (and failed) to make a bluey ripoff series

Hey, I'm so glad you enjoyed it! I don't like to criticize things just for the sake of critique, I always want to add something actually valuable to the discussion of I'm criticizing, so I'm really glad that came across. Thanks for watching and adding your thoughts!

Yeah, it's not a Bluey thing, but definitely a generational thing. For pretty much every show intended for children, there is an adult fandom that is depraved and unhinged.
In my opinion the Harry Potter books may have been the epicentre of this.

for sure, lots of this applies to fandoms for other children's shows as well! although I'm not sure that I would actually put Harry Potter in the same boat as the book series at least dealt with darker and darker topics later in the series, as the characters got older

Blues isn’t even a kids show it’s a show for dogs because the four main characters are in the colors that dogs can see

I love Bluey. I can watch it for hours with my 5 year old. It's so wholesome and funny. It's just a picture of regular family things.

Oh totally, i hate it when they make wholesome show into whatever that is they're doing.
it's a Theories sure, but you also have to consider it that children will likely think it's real because they are children
