if you JUST merged them you can simply hit the undo button or do a two-finger tap. If you did it several steps back or have since closed and reopened your project I do not think you can undo it.(if there is a way I do not know of it) I always make a copy of layers in a more complex piece before merging so that I have the originals if needed.
