    Really great to see this beauty on the streets. Minor setbacks should NOT discourage you. Keep it up. So sad she couldn't meet the other distinguished gentlemen. Keep up the good work and the videos coming.

    100 videos spanning 3 years and still no bikes finished. You could sell snow to Eskimos 😂.

      Glad you love them, the bikes will never be finished as they'll continue to evolve, but the GS and this are finished.

      Let's not forget he's building more than motorcycles here - he's also building a body of blog work that is extensive, informative and entertaining. The video and editing work makes building a motorcycle look like building paper airplanes in terms of the time required. Oh, and he goes to work and has a family. I understand the sentiment and even had the thought myself for moment, but then I tried it myself. Agree with you...love these vids.

    The thing that scares me about the 1st ride is death wobble after significantly changing the stance of the bike.

    For the rpm there's a setting where you choose mono cylinder or two cylinders easy setting and that will change the rpms . About the speed make sure that you "let the speedo know" how many magnets you have on the bike and insert the correct diameter on the speedo settings otherwise you will have bad readings. Great video as always!

      Realistically in the next 3 weeks. I have a lot to do these next few weeks but finishing the wiring (indicators) next weekend.

    Try flipping the Speedo magnets over. If you have them with the wrong side against the sensor, you'll get a 0 reading

      Oops meant Kand N stage 1 carbie kit for street use they can match up all ur custom mods also re gear it properly a most beautiful job on the whole I wish I was working with you started at 5 on a taco mini bike and am 54 now love doing gravity fuel systems

    Love your video's, have just bought a '79 cx500 and will be taking a lot of inspiration from your channel for my first cafe racer build.
    I like your rear seat hoop frame mod, and the repositioning of the rear shocks. I agree that changing the ride angle looks much better with this and lower front end but, reading on forums, this seems to be a bit controversial with a lot saying it would adversely affect handling. Just wondering if you could comment on the new ride profile and, in particular, the bike handling as a result. Cheers

      I read so much on forums nowadays that you can tell it’s a lot of keyboard warriors that just type what they’ve read else where without actual experience. So hard to believe anything these days. The ride isn’t affected. The front forks did so I’ve raised them an inch back up. But no issues with the back.

      I think the magnets were too far away and there's a setting to adjust the revs, but I'm going to replace the dials.

      Yeah, if you over think it you're riding at 60mph on a lump of metal put together with bolts with a hot engine and a tank filled with flamable fuel! So anything could happen. But the positive side to look at it is if you buy a second hand motorcycle and just ride it without checking anything it's probably more dangerous.

    Speedo inner wire and add 1 tooth to the front sprocket or take 3 from the rear which will still give
    A false reading. I assume you replaced sprockets with what came off ? Back to the manual boss

      Ain't no sprockets on this bike, it's shaft drive.

    There are 3 different ways to calibrate the speed according to the Internet. Measure the rotational distance of 1 tire revolution. Measure entire wheels revolution distance and measure distance from axle center to neodymium magnet. I have come to the conclusion that mine is neodymium magnet revolutionary distance in mm (probably du to that I use km/h in Sweden). But my rpm needle is fluxuatin like crazy and after about half an hour ride often goes to a full stop. There are a lot of different manuals online, but none seem to work correctly so I have combined them all. And from there it's trial and error.

      I put 100 90 19 on the front and 120 90 18 on the rear

      Yes and no. If you’re careful and know what you’re doing no. But can be challenging.

    I have the same speedometer on my xv750 Cafe racer build and they never work right. That's why I didn't put them on my cx500, looking for something with temp gauge.

    Interested to know what are the major differences between riding the GS & CX considering they are both around same capacity/ weight?

      They’re 2 completely different bike to be honest. CX is much lighter because you have less frame and the engine is lighter, also even though they’re the same size engine the configuration between the V2 and inline 4 is a massive difference also.

      You should try this. Completely different seating position and you can lift it off the ground with easy it’s so light. I don’t think you can judge a bike before a build. Check out The Kenzo by Death Machines London to see what they’ve done to a Goldwing which is even further a tourer than the CX

      About 50mph at the moment, ha. I've not taken it out properly. I don't think I'd go above 70mph on this though.

      Not sure yet, suggestion could be the magnet the wrong way, or it hasn't been set up right.

      @@forthebold I'm doing the same with my CX650 and am just curious if you got the multi-display to work somewhat right? I was more worried about the tach than the speedo. Watching your vid I felt you had the mags in the wrong place. I think they need to be more on the outside of the rim. Not near the center. Also, you said the odometer kept resetting to 0 every time you turned the bike off. Is that still happening?

      Magent location doesn’t matter as it’s passes per rotation. It’s the same on the outside or inside. They work well now. Just doesn’t always store mileage. My only issue with it.

      These engines have a short stroke they like to sit higher in the rev range also the oil pump doesn’t supply alot of oil low in the Revs so laboring them can be very bad for the rod bearings.. which you can’t get for these engines
