This is what you get when you have people in jobs that have nothing to do all day. They come up with these stupid ideas.

Facts, the illusion of looking like you're creating something when you're a nothing to begin with, that's the AFL in a nutshell, absolute scrubs.

Thursday night football may in turn, either, bring more people to the football on Saturday with no free to air games. Or raise subscriptions for Kayo. Either way it's a money maker for the AFL.

One of the reasons for the change back to the Sunday afternoon 3.20 game as opposed to the 4pm is the Channel 7 requirements to have a Sunday game and for the game to be all finished by 6pm for the news. But so far this year 7 has had the Thursday night games instead of the Sunday 3.20, so it’s definitely a bit strange - but a reason for the 3.20 Sunday slot

As an interstate Hawks supporter how am i ever going to get to see them live when most of our games are on a Sunday afternoon or twilight game.

The AFL has been anti Hawthorn for a long time now, it won't matter though. They get all their staff in clubland and AFL land from Hawks for a reason.

2 things as a footy fan, Thursday night is a watch regardless of who’s playing, makes the weekend feel a bit longer. And 2, give Suns and Brissy more arvo games, the qld winter weather allows these to be far more favourable for fans at the ground. And… as a smaller market team these clubs won’t cram vic’s sacred ‘primetime’.

NRL, please schedule more Storm home games for Thursday night, even if I just watch it from home.

I don’t like Thursday night games because when they have Thursday night games there is no AFL games on free to air on Sundays which is so disappointing…

  • @harrykatsaros
    @harrykatsaros 27 дней назад +2

When they negotiate that deal next year, the AFL must insist that their free to air broadcast partner is required to broadcast all free to air games in NSW and QLD.
If 7 isn't prepared to do it, I know that 10 will take whatever they can get. Even if it means the AFL taking slightly less money in the short term this needs to be non negotiable. How can you expect the game to grow in those markets when it's next to impossible to watch it on TV even if you wanted to?

Btw, why is roof of Ethiad always closed, does it have anything to do with broadcast rights?

Losing Thursday night is such a rookie error from the AFL. It’s almost embarrassing that a professional competition fumbled the fixture that hard.

Obvious why fox footy hate it is because there is one less night for them to make money from it. I personally love games at the same time as it sucks being bored watching Richmond getting belted and having to wait 2 hours for another game. But I do think they could have more Friday double header games, one in Perth which is later.

Thursday night football sucks as a country club member, with a 3 hour drive in each direction, I battle to make the start, and I don''t get home from the game till 2am, some of us have real jobs, where we have to go in to a workplace next day.
Why have a membership when I cannot get to a percentage of home games due to the time slot being inhospitable.

I am sick of it, go back to 6 games on a saturday arvo. It worked well for 80 odd years, every year the draw favours certain clubs over other clubs. Working out the second half of the draw half way through the season doesn't in any way seem like they are going to try and maximise profits at the turnstiles. All about the $$$ these days, the supporters dont matter at all.

Any danger that Hawthorn could be treated fairly for a change? Disgraceful outcome for us.

  • @brettbrett9973

AFL greed and not teams and then mentions 3 big crowd pulling clubs. Then transits into see where teams are at . Good TV outcomes is its all about. AFL are a monster and pathetic. What will they do if Freo gets a few wins , Gold Coast and Bulldogs turn it around.? They will probably change that again. An uneven competition. at its best.
    Robbo is 100% right .
