14 years ago when I charted this song... we almost cut it from the game because I was the only person who could beat it for the first month or two. We had to make it the Credits song you couldn't fail... because no way in hell we could put it in the main progression and expect players to beat the game... fast-forward to now and ya'll keep blowing my mind. I’ve never looked at guitar hero speedruns. This was randomly recommended to me. Ive played music for a long time now and never cared for guitar hero. Exactly. You can miss a few notes and it would be extremely difficult to notice a small mistake, and be off time and get away with it. Here, it punishes you for a slight mistake lol.
@@Wanderthelandscape But on a real guitar the notes are spread out over a ~25" fretboard, you have 6-8 picking surfaces instead of one and you have to keep things in mind like varying pick angle, pinch harmonics, correctly pitched bends, finger tapping, whammy bar use and palm muting. All while putting actual artistry and human soul into it, not just executing the correct sequence.
Yes, you can fuck up notes more but really not much. And no you can't be off time without causing an absolute trainwreck. Not sure what the accuracy window is in GH... like how many milliseconds you can be off and still get credit for a correct note, but I'd guess its probably about the same as rhythmic changes that are perceptible in actually played music: 15-30ms. Except in real music you have to actually be in control of that too. Like when they say playing behind the rhythm or adding some swing. Those are millisecond changes you have to actually do on purpose. I admit it's not something you are explicitly conscious of, but your brain is still adding another layer of calculus somewhere in there.
Ive never played GH so I won't make definitive claims, but its very hard to imagine its more difficult than real guitar.
I try few notes of this song on my guitar and its easier on real guitar
