Very good that you emphasize that the spine must be straight all the way and even that you should not go down all the way if the if the spine is not straight.
So that's a question that I and hopefully ANYONE who isn't your doctor that you've hopefully been working with regarding your back situation and or a physical coach or PT that you're working directly with could answer. I'd say absolutely not until you get with those professionals first and I do wish you the VERY best with regards to your back and all that surrounds that challenge.
Hey, so glad you found the video helpful! The best to you and your training and if you'd like, there are other educational/How-To vids on our channel so check them our if you'd like.
thanks for the tutorial...I felt like I was just not doing this exercise properly and I was not..I was comprising the back a little bit and it felt odd...thank you for the tips
Thank you Amy. We try very hard to make our videos both look, and sound good...but MOST important is to make sure that they truly educate and communicate how to move well.
So as you can imagine the honest answer is "IT DEPENDS" on a variety of factors...but that said, if you held my feet to the fire I'd say 4-6x reps per side with a short rest btw sides.
So glad you found the video helpful. All the best in your training and feel free to check out other vids we have on our channel and share them with others.
While there is an advantage of doing this moment with a Kettlebell, due to the offset weight...you can absolutely do this movement with a Dumbbell or the like to allow you to better facilitate the movement safely as you progress to heavier loads.
This is tricky question to answer definitively as the Windmill is not a "CORE SPECIFIC" exercise, and I'd have questions to learn more about what you mean when you say core, but what I'll tell you is that if it's done correctly, there is absolutely a core element and training to the larger movement. Hope that helps.
Oh yes...those are some serious LEVERS! That said, work within your ability and ROM that your levers and mobility allow as you'll still enjoy the benefits of this great exercise!
A really clear and structured tutorial. Good to find this quality. Watch me make a mess of it however!
HA! So glad that you found the video helpful. Good luck and if you have any questions, don't hesitate to reach back out. MSP

Excellent answered specific questions
Are you fully locking out the arm that the kb is in ?
Yes, you ideally want to "STACK" the system of bell, wrist, arm with a packed shoulder throughout the movement.
@@Mspfitness Ok, and this is training shoulder stability with lateral flexion ?
How many reps typically we must do
So as you can imagine the honest answer is "IT DEPENDS" on a variety of factors...but that said, if you held my feet to the fire I'd say 4-6x reps per side with a short rest btw sides.

Does it help for core ?
