Thanks for pointing out what is compatible (or not) with the Mini 3. Glad I haven't spent too much on filters! The battery weight issue is something that users need to be careful with. Great video, glad to subscribe.
I don't think the Air 3 is going to be competitive any more. It just doesn't have enough features over the Mini 4 Pro, it doesn't get kind of "worth it" again until the Mavic 3...but maybe that's just my opinion, but I just think that increasing size and weight HAS to bring something that you can't do with the smaller drone, and the Air 3 just doesn't justify the extra size and weight.
I agree with your opinion, but Air 3 / Mavic have faster speed, longer flight time, the weight gives Air 3 / Mavic high precision, wind resistance and more stable than whatever spec DJI gives to a mini series.
Great review of the Mini 4 Pro... Love the features but won't make the leap because I'm fine with my current fleet (Air 2S, Mini 3 Pro, Mavic 3 & Avata) and the fact that 75% will work on my DJI RC Pro. Too much invested in the RC Pro which I’ll never do again seeing that DJI won't firmware it only pushing newer and lessor quality controllers! All about their $$$$. Saving mine! Thanks for sharing!👍#782
Once again, the Augemented REality thing does what? do you get to preview the path the drone will fly when return home is engaged before it's in the air or you get to watch the path while the drone is performing return home function? You seem it will be perfect if you drone reviewers tell us the whens & whys & hows as opposed to, "ohh, it does this, it does that" without the potential buyers actually knowing the details.
This is an excellent video covering the things no one else is really talking about. I am curious how good the omnidirectional sensors work, particularly on the back lower side. I often do side pan and manually circle/spiral down shots and I've hit a few trees and buildings because of that tricky flight path. Have you experienced any issues with this in your testing?
Always get the Wide Angle Lens. Mavic 3 Pro - cost me $179. Air 3 - $59. Mini 4 Pro? $39... great right? Yes, but... SOLD OUT! They will pop up - and sell out a few times. At $39 what would you expect?
My Maiden flight with my Mini 4 Pro sucked. The sensors were on and it crashed into the wall. Over sensitive joy sticks for sure and avoidance failed me. I took it over and sat down for a look and it was on. Took it up again and it was same thing. Then against my better judgement I took it outside and hit the launch and it jumped past 4ft to around 6.25 ft. When my wife went to grab for it the sensor kicked in and it moved up out of her way. So I said move then hit the down stick but it just stayed at 6.25 ft. So I stayed in the down position until it moved down. Then I told my wife grab it quickly. So the nearest I can figure is the drone bypassed the binding sequence at the install. It just recognized the drone when I turned it on but didn't actually go through a sequence of binding together I think. So today I think I binded them together we'll see. I'm doing some indoor flights because I dont trust this drone yet.
What if you file down that notch will the filters fit? 😂Also, DJI should sell a stripped down drone without those obstacle sensors for less money for pro pilots who never use them. 🤨
I would consider the upgrade if you're in EU. I just got M4P and found out that you can set max altitude to 120m (related to takeoff position) not higher (M3P allows up to 500m). It's because of regulation where in EU you can fly max 120m above ground, but DJI (to comply with C0 certifitace)solved this issue in really stupid way (so if you want to shoot in hilly/mountain environment you wouldn't be able to get above hills/mountains unless you climb them up first).
@@sebastiannovotny8198 it only gives a liability warning no? You can press "okay" and still go above 120m technically. There's no hardware limitation. To shoot amazing mountain sights you need to go above 120m often.
@@ntchiWith Mini 3 Pro you get this warning (and you can fly above 120m (if you stay 120m above surface of course)). But with Mini 4 Pro this 120m limit is software encoded in setting (so you cannot set max altitude above 120m (and therefore also not fly so high then)).
I had in my mind to sell my dji mini 3 pro for the 4 pro but because of that limitation (which is I think the most important), now I will not buy the new one! Besides, the camera it is exactly the same and the only difference is a couple of minor additions such as the omnidirectional avoidance obstacles and the 100 frames per second vs the 60 fps....other than that the dji mini 3 pro it is a great drone and I am enjoying every moment with it!

Let me tell you, three weeks ago I bought DJI Mini 3 Pro for my Arizona trip, I did great shots, I was really impressed by the improvements from the older mini 2, then I came back to New York and started seeing all these leaks of Mini 4 Pro, One week later DJI officially announced DJI Mini 4 Pro for the same price I bought Mini 3Pro just few weeks earlier….. I was kinda frustrated, but then I checked B&H return, or exchange policy, And realized I still have one week to exchange my mini 3pro, and thats what i did yesterday! I was even happier when they exchanged my “old” Mini 3 Pro for the new DJI mini 4 Pro! However on the way back to Brooklyn, somebody in the train stole my bag with new drone…………….. just kidding! But few people definitely couldn’t take their eyes off that beautiful DJI box….📦
Hi! I have a backward compability question. I got the Mini 3 pro with RC-N1 controller. Will it somehow be backwardscompatible with the mini 4? I know there is an occusync 4 in the new RC-N2, but I can very well manage with my RC-N1 and some shorter range/features instead of getting "just another controller"..
Nobody mentions the advantage of old spark able to fly with only mobile. My best shots were with quickshots operated by mobile on holiday and bought spark night before 5 years ago. You dont need bulky controller. Selfie drone with just mobile is all you need. The fact they removed that from pocket mini drones is a bummer
No matter the upgrades and spec for the DJI mini version drones, they're unable to cope well in windy conditions. Choose the Mavic and Air series anyday.
Like the video!!! General question, witch one of the DJI drones come with FAA approved Remote Id? I know that as long as you keep under 250 grams your ok, but what if I want to move up to a larger drone?
I got a mini 3 pro. I barely use it but I would really like to upgrade cause of the upgraded obstacle avoidance and other features. I plan to use it more.
Nice report, thank you for sharing the detail. I'm wondering, will the Mini 4 batteries also work in the Mini 3? What about the Mini 4 Pro controller with display, and O4, will it work with the Mini 3? I would assume no, but thought I'd ask.
Thanks for this bonus video. Have you tested using the goggles 2 with the Mini 4 Pro? Are we going to have to wait for a firmware update that feature? Thanks!
Very informative! Thanks. Somewhat related, I am still scratching my head over why they chose to release the Air 3 with a smaller (than the 1” on Air 2) sensor…
Thanks for more of the mini 4...what I am missing..or am not missing. The power off link for transfer is nice, as well as the underneath light. Yet what NEW features are really there? All DJI has done is piecemeal every extra feature with each new drone. The features on the 4 have been introduced many..drones ago. Why didn't they add these features on the mini 3? As I sit here with my Mini 2, I contemplate weather to upgrade.. My answer is NO. All the new features are available via 3rd party app such as Litchi or even better Maven Lite for android, or Maven for ios. Sad that new rth path markers on screen have been on the Maven Lite app for over 2 years. Why is DJI just adding it now? As far as being able to control, map, or change flight rules. DJI is really lagging when it comes to the fly software. How about allow us to pre-map locations and change the drone specs via PC? Both the Litchi app and Maven allow this. Being able to manipulate and map my future locations is nice...specially when sitting at my desk doing so. Get to location, set up and hit launch is allot easier than mapping on location. EZPZ
According to other videos, the '4 apparently has processor upgrades internally, so the software might not actually work on the '3. But I agree - the '3 should get as much as will properly function.
Keep in mind that in Europe the Mini 4 is in a "0 Class" therefore cannot fly above 120 Meters high. However the Mini 3 can fly upto 500 meters hig in one go. I am not sure if the height restriction is the same in the USA or Canada 😊
Two questions: How heavy is the Mini 4? I plan to add a second strobe light to the battery door.. If I have an SD card in the controller and the drone, do I end up with two copies of the footage?
I think that I saw in some other video that it's not possible (probably because software/hardware setting of movement of camera during shooting (where point for each image of pano), maybe DJI will add this option later with update of firmware (as the drone needs to know new orientations for each image).
How does it work that one flyapp version is released for one region, and not another?? Is the 120m limit a global thing or just for Europe, and is this planned to roll out global?? I can still apply to go above 120m in my region, and wouldn't like my drone to be limited
@@photo2000 My friend in Europe told me about it. I am not sure about it worldwide. Maybe we needto ask @Flypath. But I think it has something to do with the regulation in Europe. It is shown in the menu that it only allows the max altitude of 120n
@@Possiblekim Yes, it's EU specific. The EU drone legislation now allows these C0 drones (under 250g) to fly 120 AGL (above ground/surface) during the transition period from the previous legislation (which was created at a time when drone flying was not so much a widespread pastime as a job). But from Jan 1 2024 all C0 drones (here I'm not 100% sure if it means drones coming on market after this date or drones with C0 certification) can fly only 120m high relative to take-off point (which is huge difference - now, when you start under 300m hill, you can fly above the hill, from 2024 you will get only to 1/3 of the hill). So DJI in advance add this restriction for this new drone (as it has C0 label) and will add this also for Mini 3 Pro later this year during update (as M3P is also certified as C0) - but here you can just not update the app and you're clear.

@@FlytPath That is not necessary, basic explanation is something that is important for buying a drone how u can tell easy about fcc or Ce. But dji will definitely tell you what not to say.
@@stblackpanter02 DJI doesn’t tell what to say, they just give us the specs. Opinions are our own. I live in the US and share my experience. I don’t have experience flying in Europe, hence why I don’t know their restrictions. RUclips is a great place to gather info to help you make a more informed purchasing decision. Make sure you also check out RUclipsrs in those location’s for specific needs.
@@FlytPathhow many of your followers and those who watch your videos are from Europe? I‘m sure you can check those stats.
@@FlytPath That i check thats why i found that the thing can go only 120m some youtubers are honest enough to tell it. Because that is a big change from 500m to 120m and I find it easy to say that you don't live in the country. Because before u told also about fcc and ce i dont believe u can say anything what u want otherwise Dji will be mad and on u and no more dji stuff for u 🙂
Quite annoying how the filters dont fit. I cant really find a reason why other than they optimized reliability/production or something
Always enjoy your videos bro.
I appreciate that
Yeah, I’ve had the mini 3 Pro for one month. I’ll be upgrading to the mini 4 Pro in November
Why? Just curious as to what you see as the "must have" changes 🙂

For ME:
360 degree collision avoidance
Night Mode
The Auxillary Light on bottom ( people will think the are seeing a UFO 🛸 when I fly it high at night 😂😂😂
Cruise control
Sport Mode is faster
Augmented Reality on the RC screen.
The drone shadow on where it’s going to land.
Does the RC-N1 work with Mini 4 Pro?
I read that as of launch no.
@@DsLifeJourney - Yep, I found another source... it does not work.
On the reserve list
What? My Best Buy is selling them...just ordered one, same price as DJI site...will be here in two days lol
Heres something YOU MAY NOT KNOW, Aldryn... in RTH, obstacle avoidance is ALWAYS ENABLED- even in SPORT MODE, and even on Mini 4 Pro - just checked the user manual v1.0 for M4P. So the green overlay has no practical purpose for "taking over control" as you described anyway 🤔
As mentioned in my video, you don't always want to rely on obstacle avoidance. It's great that it's on, but I wouldn't always trust it if I can help it. If I have the ability to fly it back safely myself, then I'll be "taking over control"
The OA does auto turns off in sport mode. Not sure where you got your information from.
First like, and first common woo hoo
First comment on you WOOHOO!!
I am not gonna buy the Mini 4 Pro because its a C0 Drone, which can only fly up to 120m (FROM Takeoff-point!!!).
Really? 😢
is it hard locked? I know there is a 120m limit but you can always move the slider higher than 120m in the settings.
@@Az__ the slider doesn't go past 120m, thanks to the C0 classification which requires that. On the other hand, C1 has no such restriction.
@@Eremita85 wth! No way, I had no idea!
@@Eremita85is this just in Europe, or global??
This is amazing 👏. second to comment
