Nice return. Although I think PSA tends to be pretty inconsistent in their grades. It's still nice to get that 10 that everyone wants. As for selling or keeping? I would at least hold it for awhile. His cards are going to dip this summer and as more rookies come out. But if he develops and grows the way he's projected too, then values will climb. All I can say for sure is that I'm holding on to mine with no plans of selling in the near future. Of course I mine isn't graded yet. Thanks for sharing your return.

@angushiltz4880 I definitely feel "lucky" to get the 10 grade for sure! ☘ As for sell vs hold? After seeing some of the comments I think I'm leaning towards holding for a while and just watching and enjoying his play. 😎😱🚀
Part of my strategy nowadays is being better at extracting some value out of the cards I get (just as a fun thing to add to the collecting experience). As a kid/teen collector I was terrible haha. 😆 Nice that you've got a Bedard too! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😀👍🙏

Congrats on the 10! I would sell before the hype totally dies down....or what you said about waiting to see if Bedard goes on a bender at the beginning of next season and then selling it.

@squidsupreme After reading comments I think I'm leaning towards holding onto things for a bit (so maybe a couple years) and as a fun challenge, trying to pick a time when he's starting off the season on fire and sell it then. 🚀🔥 Maybe pick up a PC card or something. Thanks for the comment! 🙏

With a declared value of $500 on the service level you chose, I'm surprised PSA didn't hit you with an upcharge when it got the 10.

@chrisstarkovich1051 Yes, I always wonder if an upcharge will happen (hasn't happened yet for me).
But I also think PSA wants to be mindful of how irritating paying additional costs can be. 😠 Plus a lot of why they need a Declared Value for each card is for insurance purposes. So if my PSA 10 Bedard was to get lost/stolen/damaged, the max I would be able to get in the insurance claim would be the $500 USD.

I got an oversized Bedard YG with a slight ding on one corner. Would you bother getting it graded?

@adam1979NSmcc First off, nice card! Though too bad about the ding 😢I guess it depends on why you want to get it graded. If you want to slab a great card and just want to add to your collection, then I think there's no problem sending in to PSA. Personally, I'd be thinking twice about sending in cards with noticeably dinged corners... but part of what I enjoy about the hobby is seeing if there are any ways I can turn a profit here and there (knowing that at the end of the day, it's all just for fun). 😀🔥🚀

If I'm grading one card, should I send it in a box or bubble mailer

    • @hockeycardsincanada
      @hockeycardsincanada  5 месяцев назад

@sensfan8792 I always like to keep my cards "super protected" so I would always choose a box. Plus I think with most insured shipping options, the weight and dimensions allowed are quite big, so for a decent price, you should be able to send boxes/packages.
Then add in some bubble wrap etc. And put the card in a ziplock bag in case any water/rain lands on the box😎💪
What card are you getting graded? ☘

I think i would trade it for something that i would be keeping as a pc card.

@saulnier22 Yes, I was thinking that too. 🐐🔥 Though it may end up being "sell" and use the funds to buy a PC card. Thanks for the input! 😀🙏

i think you gotta sell while the price is high and look to rebuy during a down year if you wanted to

@raceofearth2169 That's always tough for me. I don't seem to want to pull the trigger when I see prices for certain players drop. Thanks for your input! 💪😀🙏

Hold Bedard for 5 years by then you’ll know wheather to keep or pawn off

@johndavidson8223 Yes, I don't mind holding for a few years. He'd still be under 25 years old! 😱 Thanks for sharing your thoughts!😀💪
