Gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. I remember this from when I was a very young child, born 1967. And I loved the *bleep* out of it. I've used this glorious sound in a piece of music of mine, even - a fairly important one. Just an absolutely extraordinary exhaust set or orchestral notes...
these two strokes are neat.. i love my oddball Mercedes (that i cant find parts for..) but adding an old school Saab to my collection of misfits is something i hope to do one day.
If you were to go to 4 cylinders better to put it in a boxer configuration, then after that a V6 or even a straight 6 would probably not be terribly large considering how tiny this motor is. A small opposed piston 2 stroke would be interesting also... if you were going for efficiency. (achates power has some really interesting tech there for modernizing OP 2 strokes).
WAIT!! That's Sonnet 3, with a 3 CYL? Not a Ford V-4?!! WTH? Why? I, mean, I Love the 850's, and their sound/revs, but the V-4 has been Proven to go to 180HP with a Blower, 40 years ago!! So, "WHY"? go smaller, when the MASS EXCHANGE is in Favor of a V-4 (or more-so, for a Mazda RX-7 Turbo engine swap!?). This IS Sweet!, but, rather, um, well; ; Point Me to the Value, here?
Wow, sounding great!
And this is a super rare car, they only made 258 Sonett II with a 2-stroke engine, fantastic 😁
Jesus, sounds phenomenal at 8,000 rpm, I have to get my Wartburg up and running like that.

Thanks!!!
Here I was thinking I was going to build a Polaris powered Saab, those numbers are actually quite impressive!
Car weighs like 1600 lbs lol. It'll fly
Yeah, now THAT is what I wanna see!!!! Watching random videos, and THIS one seems GREAT!!!!
Imagine hearing this come down your street and expecting a kid to start pulling a wheely

The powerband in first and second lol🤣 this thing would be so much fun.
That sounded healthy. I think it would be cool if there was a 1 liter 4 cylinder 2 stroke.

@@Wingnut353 Better yet how about an Evinrude 2 stroke V8
Arctic cat was close. Three cylinder though.

If you had extra time you could weld an extra Saab cylinder on the block. Just like Allen millyard
@@johanengqvist4333 I have a better idea drop in an Evinrude 2 stroke V8
That sounds lush!
Love these Saabs but with the V4 engine. Had one in the 70s. It was a blast.
More Please 😁😁😎😎😎😎😎👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 !!!!!!
How did it not even crackle!
It was tuned right. If a 2 stroke cackles, richen it a little
